Tareme and Tsurime

The names are not translatable into English without ruining the whole thing and inviting misuse, this is purely an Anime eye drawing style (Or Anime clones aka Animesque).

In going with the make a little more descriptive terms if possible thing this is an easy one, I think we should go with the easy way Tareme Eyes and Tsurime Eyes respectively.

Support.

Given that these ones really are specific to anime, manga and works with art imitative of the same, I'm not bothered by the use of Japanese in the title, but clarity is good.

Support. The addition of a single word like eyes helps a great deal.

Support. Unlike Girls' Love and Shōnen, both of them aren't wide-spread terms.

\+1.

I keep having to click on them when I see them because I can't remember a) that it's "that pair of eye tropes" and b) which one goes with which name.

Though I guess this change doesn't address the second one at all.

[up][up]My trick is the s in Tsurime makes me think "sharp."

Stupid, I know, but I hope it helps.

We could probably add some more descriptive names based on usage. I'd go with Intense Anime Eyes and Bubbly Anime Eyes.

Those arnt really accurate but I guess those would work for redirects.

Tsurime are linked to Tsundere, Kuudere, or Tall, Dark and Bishōjo. (which are aloof not intense)

Tareme are literally Moe Eyes.

Should we make some easily searchable redirect while we're at it? Like Tsurime might be Cat Eyes or something. Or Sharp Eyes.

Right now the redirects for

Tareme Droopy Eyes; Downward Angled Eyes

Tsurime Catty Eyes; Upward Angled Eyes

They are pretty unclear in general.

Definitely support the rename, although we should probably keep the Japanese terms as redirects.

Would something like...Anime Angled Eyes and Anime Curving Eyes work?

[up][up] It's a Japanese trope that only appears in Japanese works. Not mostly. Only. The Japanese names aren't getting removed, they're getting expanded.

We just managed to convince Eddie that these shouldn't be renamed to some ridiculous English phrase, let's not start that again with everyone else.

Sorry! I'm usually on the "keep Japanese terms for Japanese tropes" side, so I'm not trying to hurt that argument at all. I just keep confusing these two terms for each other and I haven't heard them used much outside of the wiki. But just using the word and "eyes" after it would work, too. Particularly if we could figure out a decent redirect.

I honestly just fine with the "Trope Eyes" solution.

@ Discar: Bullshit. Spinnerette uses them. It's just an eye thing that is going to get used by anything Animesque.

I picked out "intense" because it's the best word I could think of for it.

Sorry, I meant anime trope. Animesque counts as that, essentially. Spinnerette likes taking a little from the western superhero genre and a little from anime (mostly in art).

Well, that webcomic's art is rather obviously anime inspired, Discar is wrong, but not outrageously so.
