What picture did you use for the first cover art?
Reaction Image RepositoryWhaaat. The first picture is the better one.
I like the first one a little better as well.
~ Sugarfree ~Just a reminder that we're having the call in two hours.
I slept through the afternoon so I might be able to attend this one.
Three hours later or earlier would be great, though. It's smack-dab in my standard sleeping hours.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Just curious, one more time, if anyone else has checked out The Dear Sweetie Belle Continuity, since the trilogy that wraps it up is supposed to start in one week (so, while I prefer people to discover things naturally, IMHO this is as good a time as any to get caught up).... Okay, now I'm done.
Well caught up on A Delicate Balance and, yeah loved it, can't wait for the last chapter... not perfect and a few flaws and issues, but hardly any with the primary story, more with secondary things, a few minor main story ones too. More with execution then content.
More details after work.
I realized it's been like half a year since I updated The Book of Friendship.
Something is wrong with me and my writing work ethic.
Fanfiction I hate.Or lack teheof. Don't fear, you're in good company.
I got 129 readers in two days.
Joking aside, I just keep reminding myself there's no way in Hell I could have gotten these many readers through Real Life media.
I gotta try again and do better.
Also I need to thank my pre-readers. Who are Robert, Jason and Chris?
Also, anyone got a funny concept for a one-shot that they ain't gonna use?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Should I credit you as Meta Four?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Just set a timer for twenty minutes and got some things done!
White sank into his seat.
“I’ve seen it,” said Aq, before looking back at White. “They mutilate them. They cut their wings off and burn the marks on their flanks.” He turned back to Princess. “You should have seen the scars.”
White sat in the chair, seemingly despairing. Aq had a hard, stone-faced, almost indignant look. Shine was harder to read. He seemed to be looking at Aq, completely dumbstruck.
Princess’s face, meanwhile, had turned to a look of abject disgust. “You…” she looked at White. “These are the ponies you defend? You want me to feel pity for these monsters?”
White sighed. “I… I only…” Then, something in his face changed. “Wait. Wait a minute…” He got out of his seat and looked at Aq. “How do you know about Clip?”
Aq was silent as White walked up to him.
“I’ve been looking for him since I got here. The guys running the foal labor have been very tight-mouthed. I couldn’t find anything. And every time I asked about it I got more non-answers before you either stuck me in my ‘job’ or, or something else.”
“You’ve told us plenty about him,” said Aq simply. “I just—”
“Go on and talk about how you should’ve seen the scars,” said White, nodding. “Like you’ve seen them.”
“Oh, our missionary is a little detective,” said Aq, rolling his eyes. “I’m sure if he’d applied himself earlier he might’ve found him by now.”
“Where is he?!” shouted White. “You know where he is!”

Fanfiction I hate.Blofeld method: convenient trapdoor opens, corpse gets instantly dumped into the ocean.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I think I'll change it to roughing him up or threatening. Or maybe he does, like, a gutshot, then lampshades how you're actually not supposed to shoot someone unless you're trying to kill him, and then laugh it off as IDGAF. That way there can be tension without being a transparent grimderp thing.
Though Aq does raise a good point. I haven't done much to convey White's efforts in trying to find Clip outside one or two deals. I'll have to add something later to earlier in the chapter to help remind the audience.

Fanfiction I hate.I Just Shot Marvin in the Face, But for Me, It Was Tuesday is elegantly villainous and comedic.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I haven't updated TUSH or EoE in a year. I do occasionally feel guilty about it, but I have taught myself to ignore that guilt. Creativity is not a faucet; it can't be turned on or off at will, with easy control of its strength and temperature. It is more like a rainstorm; you can plan for it, but you can't choose it's timing or potency.
@Handle: you (or anyone else) is welcome to any of these;

I either tried to write them and failed, or could not get them to coalesce into more concrete ideas. I don't have any problem with people using my ideas, provided I'm credited in some way.

"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."And then White smashes his jaw with dentist magic.
No, really. That's happening this chapter.
Man. It feels good after those twenty minutes. Really good. I need to do that more.

Fanfiction I hate.I was one of those doofi (check the first of my comments in the doc).
~ Sugarfree ~So here's an : 1. Humans are a race that live in the world of Equus. 2. It's no big deal though, they just get mentioned off-handedly like it weren't no thing.
Daily (Terrible) Plot Bunny: Behind the Scenes (working title)—Adventure? Slice of Life?
A Knowledge Broker gets summoned by Celestia. After a bit of banter (a good liar versus a worldly princess would be fun to write, especially if the Broker is the type with excessive resources), Celestia tells the Broker why she summoned them. It's been about a decade since the Nightmare Moon incident, and Celestia needs the Broker to help Celestia ensure that the event becomes a rumor/myth instead of remaining common knowledge.
The Broker asks why, and Celestia explains that she needs to make sure that Nightmare Moon is forgotten, so that her sister can be accepted when she finally returns.
The Broker says that they won't do something that big for free, and so Celestia offers one of her secrets in a trade. (Heroic Sacrifice? The Unreveal?). The Broker leaves, satisfied that they have leverage over one of the most powerful entities in the land. Celestia's Intelligence Officer slinks out of the shadows, and asks why she gave some random pony such a powerful secret. Celestia smiles and says that it's necessary in order to make sure her sister can reintegrate into Equestria.
The guard rolled his eyes. "Only you would consider that a silver lining, princess."\\
Or something. Mostly would be a character piece about Celestia. The Broker would be a Supporting Protagonist.
"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."Clever Pun, I don't get it:
To disprove her, Pinkie does something she had hoped she would never have to do, and something that she has always dreaded; exercise.
Pinkie Pie can outrun Rainbow Dash, without getting winded. She can insta-build obstacle courses. She can walk on thin air. She's as strong as she needs to be.
Plus, she strikes as the kind of person that'd be dead serious about romance. When she says "forever", she means "FOREVER"
It's RD that seems like the type to have Commitment Issues... but contrast that with her loyalty, and... once she's committed, she's a FOREVER type too.
Anyone here ever watched of played Sengoku Basara? I've never seen such over-the-top examples of Undying Loyalty. It's the kind of place where this dialogue can happen:
And they mean every word.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
I like the first picture, but I think the second one is more cosmic/fitting. *shrug*
