I dunno it looks like a valid index to me. Just needs reformatted.
SPATULA, Supporters of Page Altering To Urgently Lead to Amelioration (supports not going through TRS for tweaks and minor improvements.)What non-YMM Vs are there? Skimming the list, I didn't see anything that wouldn't belong; the closest I saw was stuff like Ham and Cheese, where someone within the production has a reaction similar to an audience.
Let's see.
- Every thing below Accidental Aesop.
- Aluminum Christmas Trees
- Cross-Cultural Kerfluffle
- Breakout Character
- Turn On Tropes (A whole index)
Just to name a few.

The point is they cause reactions, not that they are about reactions. Sometimes the reactions here are side effects.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Yes, but the main Audience Reactions index is supposed to be about tropes that are not present in the work at all, and this is supposed to be a sub-index to that.
All pages with Aesop tropes, excepting the Accidental Aesop and Lost Aesop, probably have works with genuine morals (aka Aesops) in them.
Aluminum Christmas Trees is Technology Marches On or Society Marches On linked to Real Life Pop-Cultural Osmosis Failure. What that says about its place in the index is anyone's guess...
And Breakout Character is not simply an Audience Reaction because it specifically says that the writers notice said reaction and write accordingly — Pandering to the Base over an Ensemble Dark Horse. It's the contrapositive to The Wesley.
The Turn On Tropes themselves may or may not be audience reactions, but the index is — that is, saying those things are turn-ons is.
On the other hand, Cross Cultural Kerfuffle definitely belongs on this index. When it happens, it is accidental, which can make it hard to draw the line between it and I Was Just Joking.

There is a fine line between recklessness and courage — Paul McCartney"Yes, but the main Audience Reactions index is supposed to be about tropes that are not present in the work at all, and this is supposed to be a sub-index to that."
Then it's more a sister index.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Sister index?
This has something to do with that button I've started seeing recently that says "relationships"?
Seriously, my avatar comes from the embodiment of the So Bad, It's Good trope. Not really. The relationship tab is supposed to show direct parent/child tropes, not indexes.
Fight smart, not fair.Bump. Is there anything to resolve here?
Bump. (What's wrong with this index?)
The one thing any index requires is objective criteria. If an index can't be based on neutral facts and information that can be universally agreed upon, then the index fails its purpose as an organizational tool.
Reactions, by their very nature of what they are, are NOT objective. That's why Audience Reaction pages or anything describing a response of any sort (that isn't In-Universe, at least) are deemed YMMV.
Now, an index designed only to list the reaction to any given trope appearing on it would not have an objective criteria. To put it this way, nobody can call "controller throwing" an objective response to That One Boss. Responses are personal, and I personally don't throw controllers when I encounter That One Boss; even if we replace the phrase "controller throwing" with a more general concept like "frustration", who's to say I get frustrated (or have to get frustrated) when I encounter That One Boss? Surely, anyone can come across a video game boss that gives me a hard time trying to beat it and still keep a level head and not get carried away, right?
Even if we call them "side effects", as I've already seen in this thread, not everyone always experiences "side effects" so the matter still remains YMMV (which is still VERY bad for anything that's supposed to be an index). Maybe a Jumping the Shark moment can cause loyal viewers of a show to tune out, but that concept's nature is one where it is not necessarily agreeable to everyone when/where that moment occurs, and loyal viewers can still decide to keep tuning in, anyway, even if they do think the quality of their favorite show took a nosedive. It's all up to the individual, and the number of ways an individual can potentially react to a trope is well and truly infinite.
Point is, "If it's an index, it shouldn't have YMMV qualities tied to it"; that has a lot to do with what killed Handle This Index With Care, which earned itself membership in the Permanent Red Link Club. Given that a hefty chunk of the pages on the index are Audience Reactions that are already deemed YMMV, anyway, this index is also looking pretty redundant, too.

Is there really a point to this? It's full of tropes that are not audience reactions and is badly formatted. Cut?
