x5 Well, no offense, but I never had a problem with that. Sure, there was every reason to believe they were actually honest-to-God lizards, but there was also every reason to believe they weren't. Before the big reveal, we never once saw just what the 'lizards' actually looked like. They could have been lizards, but they also could have been Big Bird dressed in a bunny-girl outfit and a tutu for all we knew. So when the big reveal finally came, rather than being pissed that they weren't actually giant lizards, I was genuinely shocked, not just at the fact they were actually humans, but also that Geki Ganger turned out to be a major element of the plot rather than just being a Greek Chorus. And I ended up loving the show for it. It was some great commentary on classic anime and how we shouldn't become so obsessed with it and try to base our lives around it, (or anything really,) but that there's still some good things we can take away from it as well. And it still kept the show's general tragicomedy tone intact while it was at it.
Though on the other hand, this is also why you shouldn't go into anything with any expectations whatsoever.
So the rampant fanservice and skeeviness doesn't bother you? Like, at all?

My complaint of the series is how it's trying to say that Magic is evil and makes you complacient. There's how they tortured an innocent girl so unreasonably into something disgraceful. (I know she also was a bigot herself, but that's because she never knew what Norma were.) Furthermore, the Mana people's behavior is very unrealistic and unnatural; Embryo's Mind Control abilities prove it and wouldn't be surprised if they always had been devoid of free will. I think of him controlling their actions through the Light of Mana, much like how Amon from Starcraft II influenced the Zerg and Protoss.
EDIT: I also forgot to add how it says that all Mana users are evil. Then how do you explain Momoka, Ange's parents, Misty and eventually Emma's change of heart? I feel like there are, and were, many others like them who suffered under the anti-Norma regime and paid the price for slight resistance or were even used as disposable tools for Dragon spies.

......so to answer the original question of whether or not it bothers me, yeah, it makes me a bit uncomfortable. So instead of obsessing over it and tweeting my displeasure, I push it to the side and instead find great amusement in Ange's budding sociopathic/misanthropic attitude.
I'm actually not far enough into the series to be able to comment on that.

I have no discomforts for fanservice in anyway unless it completely derails a plot (see all the bad adaptions of harem manga that are generally far better in manga form then anime, like Maken Ki, To Love Ru, etc). But otherwise, skeeviness has never made me uncomfortable.
Watch SymphogearMy ultimate complaint is the number of other themes and elements the series stepped on just to get that point across. Sure many people complain about it, but you don't have to go Evangelion-style. Now that CA is in a collection of multiple worlds combined into one, where there a lot more other humans around, Ange should just drop her misanthropic/racist tendencies for once.

Much as I like Ange as a character thus far, I have to admit that it's probably going to take more than just a Bright Slap to get her to chill out.
Possibly up to and including a Trans-AM Burst.
Heh, I can see that.
Furthermore, I'd like someone giving several other CA characters the Bright Slap. Specifically Rosalie, Jill and Hilda for the abuse they've done to the poor girl.
Though one must wonder how Emma is going to handle a bunch of non-magic users that are not under Mana/Arzenal authority. Hopefully, that'll give her some Character Development early on.
A supporting change would actually be Ange's misanthrope persona. The only reason she developed that is because she only knew the vile Mana, the proclaimed vile Norma, humanoid Dragons and only a few Ancient Humans, both being perverts. Now, you have a wide variety of other humans with much lighter-hearted personalities. Saying the other humans who come into this world are also complacient self-serving pigs is really gonna give her a smack in the mouth.
Funny thought, imagine Hilda giving a Starlight Breaker to her new friend as a form of a Bright Slap.
EDIT: Just found a video regarding Cross Ange. They're in right after Zola was killed. Bad news there.
That's still good news as there's a chance you can change the story of Rondo. Furthermore, there are response options you can choose.

Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!I've just finished stage 14. It's weird, but I feel like the characters - and the game itself - have quietly agreed to forget that the people of Arzenal tortured Ange for no real reason.
Also, Ange only has room for five spirit commands. No spoilers, but this is rather suspicious.

De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.That...doesn't sound too good. Maybe they're unaware of it?
What about the options? There are choices available in the game and it's seems you can choose to go one of two places.
EDIT: Maybe it's because she hasn't unlocked the modes to Villiss yet.

Some games have characters have a spirit or two locked behind plot events so you can't get them early through raw leveling. Usually stuff like Love or Courage that makes sense to only show up after character development.
Moreover, I saw some future scenes of the game. Ange appears to have said "Screw You!" To Arzenal and leaves with the SRW team. And they just fought the Gravity Master Dragon with a couple more scenarios afterward, so Sylvia won't be seeing her sister for a long time.
Just saw the next videos that introduced Rondo. Fortunatley, it appears that they only implied rape scenes.
It seems that after Rondo, the paths start to split up. I'm guessing on the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism, following the path of one series also determines the ending based on where it is on the scale. But that's just a theory; Super Robot Wars is supposed to be about making happy endings as far as I'm aware; even modern ones do so in a more realistic sense.
Also, which was found a while back, Mana is allied with the Earth Federation. All so they can do their own thing without getting backlash for their treatment of the Norma. While they could normally see those without Mana to be subhuman monsters, too, they are somehow smart enough not to pick on other nations.
EDIT: Not sure about Julio though, he seems far too unstable to consider ANY non-Mana user worth living.

You know, just this once, I'd like to see a SRW that intentionally gives every single one of its' series its' worst possible ending ever. BOOM! Third Impact happens! BLAMMO! The world gets turned into a radioactive wasteland! SHAZAM! Kouji gets corrupted by Mazinger Zero and destroys the world well over 1000 times, Hathaway Bright gets his head chopped off thanks to his own unwitting father, and the Ideon blows up EVERYTHING. And why should they do such a thing, you may ask? Because they can. >:D (JK. Mostly.)

Right now (finished stage 18), I kinda regret taking the Arsenal route, if only because it means I missed the introductions of Zambot and Daitarn 3. I'm also disappointed that Evangelion is taking its time show up.
I like the SP system; it reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics A2. Anyone play that game?
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I'm guess that the story is railroading the original plot line?
Man, Seeing Getter Robo and Mazinger sparing with one another brings a manly tear to my eye...
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!Any meetings with the Mana leaders and/or Embryo yet?
Also noticed, if Rondo shares the same world as the other nations, then wouldn't the other nations intervene after the Light of Mana was shut off? There's has to be some kind of change for at least interactions with Sylvia as far as that's concerned.

First, I'm bumping this.
Second, who ever talked about Lord Djibril being in this series, some reply now.
Last but not least, Embryo, you bastard!
Mazinger Zero and Mazin Emperor G attacks. Except this time they're in English.
Apparently most of Mazinger Zero's attacks are dynamic kills. Kinda fitting really.
Edit: As a side note: That preview image for the Mazin Emperor G vid looks fucking awesome. I kinda want to draw fanart of it.

Mazin Emperor Z was created to be a part of the new Mazinger movie.

Plus, Time Travel is involved. If anything, there could be a point where you can go back and prevent disasters from happening in the first place.
