Cut list of hentai from article for being unnecessary?: Hentai

Funny, I mentioned that in the hentai thread as an example of a hentai trope.

But I wonder, is there anything else beside La Blue Girl that uses it?

Loads. I can't recall any specific examples off the top of my head, but it comes up a lot. It usually ends with the "winner" deciding it was a tie and they'll have to try again tomorrow.

@Marq: If the consensus of the thread is to take that course of action, I won't mind running it through.

I think you're thinking of Competition By Sex. Sex Battle / Sex Fighting, as codified by La Blue Girl, is about a sex-based fighting style.

Do we really need to wait for consensus? The validity of Hentai Tropes only depends on whether there are enough Hentai-specific/iconic tropes to merit an index separate from Porn Tropes.

Huh, I've only ever heard it called Sex Battle. Didn't realize that would cause confusion with something else.

Anyway, hentai has quite a few tropes of its own, unique from general porn, but we haven't codified most of them. So if we make that index, we're going to have to start a bunch of creepy YKTTW.

So? We're supposed to be collecting all tropes, regardless of their creepiness. Besides, they can't get creepier than the ones that induce Nausea Fuel / High Octane Nightmare Fuel reactions.

Oh please. We have here a bunch of Rape Tropes. Hentai Tropes are nothing in comparison.

I didn't say we shouldn't do it. It's just going to be a little difficult to get good responses.

We should probably get a short list of those tropes, before we start the YKTTW. Competition By Sex (with a note that its often called "sex battle," but shouldn't be confused with the fighting style) is the only one I can think of at the moment. Other than actual, you know, sex tropes. Do we really need a Paizuru trope?

EDIT: Oh, and NTR. Can't remember the full name, but that's definitely a trope or genre.

And sexual acts in itself aren't tropes anyway.

Netorare, I think? And perhaps Sex Battling could be left for Competition By Sex, while the fighting style becomes Sexual Martial Arts or something like that (make it a subtrope of Martial Arts and Crafts, while we're at it).

Do we have to make individual pages for all the hentai tropes? Or can Hentai Tropes itself be a summary page of commonly used tropes in the genre that can be later split off if they become common enough in other media?

To the one who said there were no ahegao in actual porn, Belladonna does some wonderful ahegao if you must know.

And Sex Battle as well as Competition By Sex are very Hentai tropes. To my great chagrin: I'd really love to see "sex so awesome you lose your mind" in live-action.

But how many of the hentai tropes actually turn up in live-action japanese porn?

Yeah, that's the tricky part about all of this... since a theoretical Hentai Tropes article would be a sub-index of Porn Tropes, Hentai Tropes should mainly focus on things that are exclusive to Hentai, or seen so rarely outside of Hentai that it that it might as well be exclusive.

The trick is to figure out which tropes meet that criteria.

As an aside, Netorare already has an article.

Let's see there is the "Hentai X-ray Crosssection", various flavors of doujin styles, paring types and stories, various nipple drawing styles, Sex makes you a love slave thing. (Not exactly Netorare)

The X-Ray crossections tend to have egregious instances of You Fail Biology Forever. I'd like to catch the idiot who first drew a penis actually entering a uterus.

I think that last one falls into the non-superpowered version of Mind Rape, but its probably a valid subtrope.

We could probably include "porn tropes" that occur a lot more in hentai works than in non-hentai porn; perhaps even separate the tropes into "hentai-exclusive", "hentai-originated", and "more common in hentai porn than non-hentai porn". Naughty Tentacles, anyone?

PS: Should we split this into a separate thread? I think we already got enough tropes for a Hentai Tropes YKTTW, anyway.

So would that start with the index, and then YKTTW the individual tropes? That seems a bit backwards, but since we're basically starting from zero here, I guess it would be a little bit nonstandard.

yikes winner there great name, we had a long discussion in the hentai on if it could happen in real life and such and pretty much came to the conclusion that it can but not the way it's ever drawn in Hentai. (Leave the other name as a redirect.)

The censor bar could work as well could work too it's always a line (very thin bar.) going across private parts and only if they show the head of a penis or a full crotch shot and other really really strange rules for hentai manga on that bar.

Remind me to post this link to an article that I found today, which talks about the origins of Ahegao.

Backwards, yeah, technically. But it would also help in gathering additional tropes in the meantime.

I thought of some more really hentai-prevalent tropes...dunno if we have these or not already, but I figured I'd go ahead and mention them:

• When the guy orgasms hard enough to spray/splash outside the orifice in question. Since we have Explosive Overclocking, I was thinking Explosive Overcoming...too punny?
• No Refractory Period
• The tendency for men to produce what seems like literally cupfuls of semen (or more) when they orgasm, and similarly, women producing enough lube to be dripping like a leaky faucet or worse. Maybe Unrealistic Put Out Output?
