I appreciate how much of a badass she made The End, especially considering her usual treatment of bosses in her comics.

Seriously, though, I really wish more games had bosses that were even a little like The End- Variety never hurt anyone.

I sure said that!

Ground Zeroes will be free on Playstation Plus in June, if anyone has been waiting to play that on PS 4 (I know I have).

Solid and Liquid have an IQ of 180.

...I dunno whether that's true of Big Boss.

[up][up]I think the official test wouldn't get him a good score, but he's clearly very intelligent, even if he's also rather eccentric.

And y'know, yeah, he believes in Santa and all that, but y'know, after some of the other craziness in this series I'm not sure calling Santa a myth is anything but Arbitrary Skepticism.

I sure said that!

If you play the game on Christmas Day, your strike markers call in Santa Claus for the air-strike.

(If there are still strike markers - unless they're ridiculously expensive, they might be too OP in an open sandbox game.)

I really like how Solid Snake is more pop cultured than his dad.

He's actually seen 2001 A Space Odyssey. And probably Escape From New York too, because that reference couldn't have been anything other than deliberate.

And he gets a ton of references Big Boss would probably need explained to him.

...Also.

In our Character page for Solid Snake, the Nice Job Breaking It, Hero section has a line about how things are worse in Rising than in 4, and. I don't really see how?

I mean, yes, there are still private military groups, but. Overall, there seem to be a lot less wars worldwide than there were under the War Economy. Yeah, there's World Marshall, but World Marshall still isn't as big as the Outer Heaven PM Cs Ocelot controlled were and doesn't have as much influence as the Patriots did in their prime.

For the most part, the world seems to mostly be doing okay. There are problems, yeah. Naturally. Ending the Patriots didn't end their memes. But the idea that things are worse seems kinda bullshit to me.

Especially since. Desperado is a PMC that is apparently infamous in the international community for their lack of moral scruples. It's actually deliberate. World Marshal presents a respectable front, while Desperado are the ones that actually publically get their hands dirty. It's part of the whole Operation Tecumseh gambit. Desperado allies with nasty terrorists and attacks the poor defenseless World Marshall troops protecting the president.

It seems like Desperado is the only PMC that does shit like this, based on Codec calls and the like. Contrast with Outer Heaven and Liquid, who was able to declare martial law on an Eastern European city whenever he felt like it.

Yeah, Rising was just a small group of asshats and one very wealthy senator. It's not nearly the kind of global conspiracy seen in every other game.

Also, any world where an 11 year old girl designs space jets is better.

The end.

Speaking of said 11 year old, does she count for Improbable Age because of that very fact, with a dash of Justified Trope due to her Child Prodigy-hood?

She killed the Patriots at the age of 7.

Sunny did. Not Snake, not Otacon. Not Ocelot. Sunny.

She hacked the Pentagon and found where Big Boss's body was. Well. Solidus's body. Eh.

Either way, I dunno about you, but I wasn't murdering networks of world-controlling Artificial Intelligences when I was 7.

[up][up]All it took for Sunny to be so great was an early period of extreme isolation and a constellation of autism-like traits that may or may not have been caused by said isolation.

Geez, she peaked early. Not many save the world before that hit their first double-digit birthday.

Pre-MGS 4 you could make an argument, albeit a very debatable one, about The Patriots being Necessary Evil. Before the War Economy nonsense out of nowhere, they more or less kept the world as it actually is IRL but with a whole lot of shady shit behind the scenes. Compared to Rising, that might be better.

But MGS 4 vs. Rising, no way, MGS 4 was way worse

Also the greatest idea Hideo Kojima ever had was MGS 2 letting us see how great Snake is. No more answering everything with a question, no more walking into dumb traps. He actually got to be smart for a change.

Okay he wasn't completely dumb in MGS 1 but there's no denying he got to be more awesome and intelligent in 2. Kinda became a philosopher.
