For the North American release, I have to wonder whether they'll dub the movie into English or remake it with American actors on the original sets to account for the LA setting of the localisation.

I doubt Capcom or whoever is producing this has the budget to make another movie for western audiences. Hopefully the guys who localise the games can localise the film though.

Frankly I think this may be the best video game movie ever> The big question for me now is how they are going to release internationally.

I've seen videogame movies that were terrible because they completely disregarded the source material. If anything, this movie looks like it copied the source material too much when it comes to costumes and sets; on the plus side, it's very nice to look at and really highlights how cartoonish the setting really is.

Not a fan of the colour flattening, nor the lack of Phoenix Wright music. :/

I want it to be localized but it almost certainly will never be.

The music in trailers are almost never the same as that used in the actual movie. But yes, I wouldn't hold my breath to hear PW music in the actual movie either.

If by "localized" you mean "dubbed" I doubt we'll see it, if only because that kind of stuff doesn't really happen any more for live-action films. 8-) We'll definitely see it subbed, though, whether officially or not.

I just watched the movie at Rotterdam Film Festival. It's very shounen anime with hamminess Up To Eleven. Pretty enjoyable. I like it. Hopefully it'll get released in the West eventually.

And the ending song is Ear Worm material.

EDIT: Actual streamers going down in the tribunal seems to be in terribly poor taste, especially with that tiny Victory Fanfare...

It's not nearly as good as that of the games...
