It didn't even have to be explicit. Just a shot of her on her motorcycle with her face obscured or out of focus would of been perfect.

Honestly I think Terry's Cartwright Curse would have won out since Geese vs Terry the Rematch was want the OA Vs were always building up.

and Terry needs to be motivated to beat his biggest opponents and Nigth Mare Geese is like up there with Omega Rugal

I mean I know thats the popular notion that they wouldn't just kill Mary like that would they? but looking that Terry basically refuses to commit fully to their relationship... IE their in the close friends with benefits area...

Me too sadly enough. Not only would losing another woman he fell in love with provide plenty of man pain, there's also a precedent for them killing characters who never died, what with Master Tung dying in the first OVA.

That being said, they could have their cake and eat it too by having Mary seemingly die, but survive at the end, just to mess with our expectations.

...Also, I've been thinking of a wacky fanfic idea where the ghosts of Lily and Sulia are fighting a deathmatch over who gets to be Terry's Spirit Advisor.

Poor Terry is just sitting in a bar debating if he wants to even try another relationship, when they both appear to try and comfort him and notice the other.

"Who's this bitch?'' Then it all goes down hill from there.

So according to the KOF reddit apparently Terry fans hate Kyo fans. I think Kyo is alright, but I can kind of understand where the Terry fans are coming from (boils down to Terry being a much more likeable, well developed character that's constantly being overshadowed and replaced by Kyo, who's a lot less likeable and changes little).

It would be nice to get more Fatal Fury or even Art of Fighting focus again. Ko F Destiny seems to be leaning that way anyway.

They tried that with KOF 12.

Terry is amazing but Kyo is pretty cool too. I think Terry fans are being a bit silly here,especially since Kyo isn't even the main hero right now,that dork with the bad fashion sense is.

One overlooked/minor CMOA Terry had was when he outsmugged Ash Crimson in their arcade mode dialogue. It's one of the rare instances where Ash gets visibly annoyed at not being the one dominating in wordplay.

Yeah, Kyo's had even less time in the spotlight than Terry, who has nearly a dozen games in which he's the star.

I do like Terry a lot more than Kyo or especially Ryo, but Kyo's perfectly fine and is probably the best of the 4 KOF heroes they've introduced.

I feel like Terry is The Ace, not just in KOF but also in the crossover games too. That's my headcannon; even if he's not the main character, he'll always more or less be the most skilled fighter in whatever situation he finds himself in. I believe Terry could beat just about everyone in KOF and most of the fighters in the CVS/SVC games (that includes Darkstalkers), it's just not his story. Ryo is similar, just a lot more subdued. Ryo doesn't really become The Ace until he's older and becomes the next Mr. Karate.

I have been reading the SVC comic, and it is pretty nuts. Geese rides in on a giant mammoth, for one. Another thing that happens is that Terry parries/no sells Sagat effortlessly. But then he's only able to bet Shiki with help from Chun-Li, and he and Chun-Li still lose to Ryu and Kyo. Also, Guile beats Geese, so it's hard to tell who's stronger than whom.

Yanno I forgot til now they actually killed Tung in that one OVA. Yet I still think if they actually had Blue Mary in one OVA and had the balls to kill her off too, fans would flip since, yanno, she actually has fans.

anyway Terry is pretty damn good wherever he goes so the idea of him at least being on equal footing with Kyo makes sense (also why can't he pair up with Ryu anymore)

Of course if you DO beat Terry you got him down and out for a longo time since he ends up on a drunken stupor. Its hilarious.

Honestly, I just want him to have a Lose pose where he falls straight down on his arse and a bottle of liquor magically falls into his lap from on high, whereupon he starts downing it like a homeless bum. Make it happen SNK!

Ralph used to polish a bottle off before every fight so that's not entirely out of the question.

They need to bring that back too, because that was a pretty sweet intro. Why'd they take it out anyway? Did they suddenly start feeling the need to censor out any and all alcohol references? Because I don't really know why else they'd cut it.

Poor Ryo had that horrible AOF OVA that had a hentai star as the main female Seiyuu, and it shows.

I wonder if Orochi would probably beat Mars from the OVA?

I feel like the AOF characters deserved another shot at the spotlight. The first game's story had potential to be good (70's styel martial arts/crime action movie kind of vibe), but the OVA was a big let down. The second game introduced Geese and tied AOF and FF more closely together. 3 got to put Robert in the spotlight, but maybe it was too big a change for some fans.

But since then, the AOF characters, I believe, seem to have really found their characterization in the KOF games, forming what you could describe as a really quirky sitcom family that's all about martial art. Fans love Yuri and King, Takuma has developed into a crazy old man who's also crazy strong (one of the few characters I would say definitely is stronger than Terry), Robert's got a nice style and Ryo is your basic straight man. I think using their current characterizations in a more fleshed out spinoff (like in Destiny, maybe) could be really nice to see.

I think it's a real shame that Capcom's joke character overshadowed them and kind of ruined their quirks for fans (ie the poses and dialogue). I think it's safe to say more people know of Dan than the series he's making fun of. If they ever make CVS 3 I hope Robert finally gets to fight Dan.

if you're using that as a metric for their relative strength, remember that Kyo needed the other two Sacred Treasures to beat Orochi, Iori in particular providing a huge assist. Terry by and large took on and killed Mars alone since the rest of his friends were busy looking like punks.

• Art of Fighting had an absolute mess of a 45-minute OVA, with a ridiculous story, depressingly predictable plot twists, and not one interesting or likable character. It has nothing to do with the story of the games beyond the premise of "Yuri gets kidnapped, Ryo and Robert try to save her", they didn't even get the character designs right (Ryo and Robert have their hair colours swapped for no reason), and the one thing you'd expect it to be able to deliver (spectacular fights) falls flat, as none of the characters uses any of their signature moves and the animation is embarrassingly limited. About its only saving graces were the decent music and turning Butt-Monkey Ryuhaku Todoh into a hilarious nutcase police chief.

Ayumi Hamasaki voiced Yuri in the Art of Fighting OVA.

The page does say that Yuri was voiced by a J-Pop star, not a porn star. That would leave King, but I don't think that's the case either. I don't think the AOF OVA was really that bad, just really lame. There's all of one cool bit of action animation when Ryo fights King but that's it. How do you go from the really cool Fatal Fury anime specials to that? The Samurai Shodown OVA is almost as bad.

Seriously, even if the Fatal Fury OV As and movie weren't high art, they do stand out as the most competently written and directed fighting game anime of their time. Street Fighter II looked better and had a bigger budget, but it (and quite frankly the Alpha OV As later on) have shoestring thin plots and little story.

I guess this brings me to a point I've been pondering a while now; KOF isn't quite what you would call an anime fighter, but from what I can remember way back in the early 2000s, it seems like SNK games were a lot more popular with anime fans than Capcom games were (more or less), and I think the Fatal Fury animes were a cause of that. Honestly, I think I knew Fatal Fury as an anime before I even knew it was a video game.

The Sam Sho OVA is a really hilarious shitshow. Especially the dub, which is just laughably bad.

Although landing Tiffany Grant as the voice of Charlotte is just unbelieveable.

I meant to mention this much earlier, but apparently someone datamined King of Fighters 14 and found data for 11 new characters to be added as DLC. It's just a rumor for now so take it with a grain of salt, but I think it would be interesting to hear who you guys would like to see appear in the game as future DLC.

Personally, I would like to see Gato, Hotaru Futaba, Khushnood Butt, Sinclair, Wyler, Heavy D!, Lucky Glauber, Brian Battler, May Lee, Gai Tendo, Seo Yong Song, Takato Saionji, the "Mutation Nation Team" I mentioned back at Post #2798, Mudman, and Tio Ridgemond from Kimi no Yusha.

Jeez, Jubei? He's from really, really OG Fatal Fury. But we did get Raiden and freaing Hwai Jai of all people for KOF XIII, and Richard Meyer even earlier than that. You're really never truly out of the game if you were in an SNK game.

Heidern would be pretty rad, he was amazing in 2K2UM.
