"Romantic" is pretty much the last adjective I'd use to describe relationships in Greek mythology.

I was using "romantic" as a euphemism, and more making the point that I was unaware of Heracles having any inclinations of that variety. But there were some genuinely romantic gay couples—a good example being Achilles and Patroclus. For every mythology it does depend on 1) the character and 2) the author.

In retrospect, I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised, since I was already aware that in Greek mythology practically Everyone Is Gay >w<

For what it's worth, I just want to say I appreciate you using Heracles and not Hercules.

If I could just keep my body confidence up for one day, that'd be great. Thanks. >.<

So....nobody's had anything special to say for a couple days. So, let's do a conversation reboot, using Traditional Option #1.

How is everybody doing?

Been up and down the last couple of days. Kind of boiled over in a big way Thursday night and not sure what caused it. Just generally stuck in my normal feelings of going nowhere, still not having the confidence to start home-level transition even though I don't think my parents would get mad. Still whining inanely on social media about how it all keeps butting heads with my hobbies and how that just makes me feel worse.

So yeah not been in the most positive of moods and don't quite know what I should try in order to try and turn it around.

I have a sore throat, lotsa yucky gunk in my nose, a fever, and I'm also lovesick. At least I've got all my homework done. Also, my Creative Arts teach told me that he thinks I should apply to get a grant for my animation project and that he'd love to be my faculty mentor for it. The URCO applications open up again in the spring—so. That's exciting.

And terrifying.

Along with that I've also started writing an LGBT furry webcomic with some artist friends. But, as usual, I'm the least apathetic, so where I have six pages of dialogue they have two rough sketches of a single character. I'm just glad there are people who actually want to help me with my pathetic little dreams. Kinda losing hope at this point

Considering going back to uni, finally got around to playing Life Is Strange.

Am currently too gay to function for several video game characters (including, but not limited to, Samus and half the cast of LIS).

i'm extremely bitter at shitty discourse atm. it seems every fucking anti-kink shithead assumes straightness. bitch please, kink spaces tend to be overwhelmingly queer

Sorry, feel bad about going off like that. I've been pretty good aside from those things so not sure why I focused on the negativity.

Doesn't surprise me, though I've had mixed experience myself when it comes to seeing straight vs gay in the kink scene.

So I figure I need to try and identify the roots of my various issues if I'm going to get past them.

So I'm trying to work out where the hell all that "all my problems are just things I made up to get people to feel sorry for me" crap came from.

It may be helpful to work with a professional to try and identify said issues, even if the first one isn't any help it's generally worth keeping trying new ones if you can.

If I can just stop purposely hurt people, pushing them away and assuming I'm undateable for a moment, that'll be great 🙃

Dysphoria is always like that. In fact, the only times it isn't are when it might as well not be a thing in the first place.

Today, I went out with my dad to eat wok and play billiards. Miraculously, this time I didn't suffer a meltdown because of dysphoria and general feelings of not belonging with the other people out there. So, that's some kind of progress. I guess.

I'm not sure if the store I work at is popular among LGBT people, or if people are just more visible now, but I've got quite a few LGBT regulars.

Theres a buff trans woman who is super friendly and jokes around with everyone, an older flamboyant gay guy, several couples made up of butch lesbians, several lesbian mothers, two gay dudes, a trans dude, and at least one lesbian who gets all blushy when I'm working.

It feels nice seeing them. Knowing that people like me are able to be out and live normally up here.

So it looks like we're going to try and get me into something that should help me find work. Or something.

Also I do actually need to step up the clothes shopping and actually talk to my parents about transitioning at least at home.

So. Uh. I actually have a date. With an actual guy. Who actually likes me for my brain and not just my body. Who actually lives in Utah. So... yeah. I'm excited—and nervous >w<

You'll be just fine. So don't get worked up about it. Good luck with the date. Not that you need luck with these matters. Meeting a guy like that is fortunate enough, and luck isn't what decides whether or not it actually works out between you two anyway.
