Rainbow Dash slowly turned to face Ithilrandir, her expression somewhere between confused and offended. Had... had this man just asked if he could ride her? "Sorry, what?"

Minako listened to Batou with a bit of a smile. She did like to listen to people. She did get the funny mental image of Batou with a bigger, mustached Batou when he mentioned his father though. She managed to hold back her giggles at that mental image. It was nice to find out that someone else was from Japan as well, though probably not the same Japan she was from given how high tech all the stuff he was talking about sounded.

"Alright, I think I'll call you crazy....but I'll trust you. I don't doubt that this place could somehow give us the know how to work all of this stuff. I am a bit curious though, whats it like to just download information? I can't exactly ask my laptop back home and that sounds kind of cool. It'd make school a lot easier." She said. She could always ask Aigis, but the thought never came to her when she was there and now she didn't really have the chance.

"You are a trained horse, unless my eyes for equines has betrayed me yet again," Ithilrandir said. "And trained horses are there to be ridden into battle."

"And mythologies had proven time and time again that sentient steeds are most oftenly the finest mounts warriors of legend can ever found," he continued. "Unless, of course, you are not one of those fabled mighty warbeasts with speed matching the wind and hooves mighty as the hammers of the gods."

He stared at the pony for emphasis.

"Or are you?"

Dash narrowed her eyes at the Noldor. "Oh, you better believe I am. But there's a few problems. One, you'll slow me down. Can't really fly well with a hairless monkey on my back, you know. And two, you'll get hurt. If you're riding me, and I'm up in the air, I'm going to be pulling a lot of tricks that could probably break some of your bones. Or worse." With that, the pegasus turned away from Ithilrandir. "So no."

"Hairless... monkey?"

Ithilrandir felt his ears burning in rage. If it was not for the kind of restraint and self-control as expected of a war leader and an established warrior, he would have personally seen that the impudent speaking horse's head be split in half by a throwing axe *

.

He managed to still appear calm and collected though. After all, he was not going to do anything counterproductive to the group, unlike that particular hypnotizing machine man. Not after he had gone this far on the long way home.

"It would be wise for you to not use that term to refer to any of us again, horse," he said, his voice very, very vaguely threatening. "I won't hold it against you this time, though."

Reala had floated above the Edelweiss when it was driven into the water. As with the others, his outfit had changed along with the tank. The stripes on his head were now blue and white, and appeared rather clothlike. The rest of his outfit had become a solid blue; he appeared to be sporting a jacket over a waistcoat and bell-bottom trousers. Each shoulder was adorned with the face of a skull, there were gold bands around his wrists, and a faded yellow cloth belt around his waist. Sprouting from his back were a pair of plain purple wings; however, he found he could still fly normally without their aid.

He had flown a little closer to the deck of the ship when the commotion had started, but a few of the others had promptly defused the situation. However, the Nightmaren found Aki's reaction interesting, and soon found himself again curiously pondering a troubled psyche. Is she really so trigger happy that she'd pull a weapon on someone for being severely disoriented

? She's reserved, but very quick to react to a perceived threat. What is it, then, that makes her react so extremely?

The situation has came to the point where Ithilrandir no longer felt insulted. Instead, he was most probably trying his darnedest to justify what the horse was saying/trying to say. His expressions - squinted eyes, twisted mouth and a generally wrinkled forehead - conveyed that confusion rather well.

"You... can't probably be serious." he murmured.

"There is not a single place in the entirety of Pendor I can think of where comparing a human to a shaved animal would not construe an offense of the highest echelon," he said. "Let alone us Noldors. Let alone me."

"The only way I can probably look the other way is if your dimension, wherever it is, is comprised entirely of sentient forest creatures and has no trace of human or Noldor civilization whatsoever, up to and including druids and rangers," he said. "And I am finding that premise quite difficult to swallow."

"Well, I don't know what a 'human' or a 'Noldor' is, and I don't really think you could call ponies forest creatures." The pegasus glanced over her shoulder. "Is that what you're called? A human?"

Hanging up the radio for now, Gene looked back to the now thawed Lee. It seems that even he doesn't quite know what's going on, which brought up another host of questions. At least he was sober. The God Hand made a mental note to not let him near the keg (which he assumed was downstairs in the hold). Everyone else was fine, with Beryl and Lina hitting it off and... did Aki just jump off the ship cabin? Sure, he could do that and a few of the others could too, but Aki wasn't super powered or had some awesome equipment to get away with it. It seemed Gene knew even less about her than he thought (and he knew very little already).

Sometimes I even amaze myself. Currently: Nice and sneaky like

Batou was a little relieved that Minako seemed to understand what he meant about knowing how to pilot the boat. And of course, she had a question about downloading information. The operative did it so often, it wasn't something he normally thought about, but her comment about it being helpful for school brought a smile to his face. Oh, did schools ever have a problem the first few years after cyber-brain technology became widespread.

"Funny story about that and school," he said as he set the navigation to auto-pilot and turned to face Minako. "I was already out of school by that point, but when the technology became public, students would use it on tests. The schools saw it as cheating, so they eventually made students with cyber-brains go into Autistic Mode

during tests- shut off all their connections to the net, radio, news, anything that broadcasts a signal- and they'd flunk them if they caught them accessing the net during a test. Didn't stop students from downloading all the info they needed before a test, but it kept them from doing so while they were actually taking the test."

"Of course, that doesn't really answer your question, now does it?" Batou said, crossing his arms and frowning slightly as he thought. "Downloading info... it's hard to explain, really. It's not the same for everyone, and most people eventually tune it out after a while, but for me it's almost like... I guess you could call it like an idea forming in your head. You get a clearer and clearer picture of what it is until eventually you've got the whole thing there, ready for you to look at." The frown turned into a smirk and he chuckled to himself before saying "Of course, it's not like you could just download all the information you'd ever need and be set for life. Most people don't have all that much space to store information without external memory devices, and even then it's just another storage drive like on a computer. Just... smaller," he said, tapping the side of his head with his index finger while smirking. "And in your head."

Batou looked back at the navigation displays on the control panel to make sure they weren't about to crash into anything, then returned to face Minako again. "Honestly, it's not something you think about when you use it every day, I've never had to try to describe it to someone else before." As long as I never had to describe net diving, he thought. "Oh, you just plug yourself into the internet and fly around!" That would make all kinds of sense....

Roxas was sat on the deck of one of the boats, watching what was going on. He was wearing a modified version of the outfit he wore when he first appeared in Twilight Town, with the black jacket removed and replaced with a black bandanna carrying the same four-pointed star around his neck, and the bottom of the trousers ripped off mid-way up his calf.

"Yup. That tasted purple."

"That's Noldor, thank you very much," Ithilrandir answered.

Then the Noldor lord returned to his normal silence, waiting for the boat to reach the destination...

As Beryl started to thaw out Lee, something caught the corner of Dante's eye. Flicking his eyes away he noticed that Aki had apparently taken the same route as he had, vaulting off the building and landing without so much of a fumble. Damn, kid would be a triple gold medalist in the Olympics. She might have been a ball of awkward, but the signs pointed to her being a ball of awkward that could probably cut you up like a knife. Seemed she wanted to talk to 47 about something, so he glanced away to the now nearly unfrozen Lee.

Once Lee's icy prison had all but melted away, he smirked and told the boy "Nice little vacation you took there, you all cooled off now?" From the looks of it he had been snapped back into sobriety, and the worst he was suffering from was a bad case of the shivers. One towel later, and he was good as new.

While he was drying himself off and Beryl was relaying the past events to him, Lina had been puffing up her chest over her accomplishment. It reminded him of a kid who was attempting to pimp themselves out for a gold star, showing off all their old gold stars like they were treasured scars from the war. She sure loved to talk the talk, didn't she? Still, apparently she could walk the walk and seemed like an alright girl.

Did that mean he wasn't going to try and outdo her? Oh, hell no.

But Lee had asked about the mystery bottle, which tore away his attention from the magic user. Clinking the bottle with those metallic claws, he gave a wry grin and said. "You don't mean this bottle, do ya? Don't know how ya got hammered on it, but you did. Y'wanna explain?" He couldn't have taken that many shots before turning into a sloppy mess, and yet the kid stood here in front of him without so much as a hangover. Whatever this booze was, it wasn't like any booze he'd ever met in his lifetime.

Raspberyl's smile persevered as Lina continued to boast, even going as far as striking a pose to illustrate her point. The sorceress was certainly fond of herself, and especially of hearing herself talk, but Raspberyl supposed that wasn't exactly a crime, and even found herself still not particularly minding Lina's attitude. Raspberyl knew at least one person back home who was just like Lina, and while she wasn't exactly fond of them, she was willing to believe that the sorceress was different.

I don't think anybody's much like Mao. she thought as Lina concluded her posturing.

"I'll remember that. Thanks." Raspberyl smiled cheerily, stowing her large magic tome back in her book bag now that she'd finished thawing Lee. "So, Lina, what sort of stuff have you done since you finished school?" she asked, trying to strike up a new conversation

.

"I've still got a few years left before I finish, but I'm not really sure what I want to do yet, and I could use some ideas." Raspberyl admitted shamelessly, genuinely interested in what Lina might be able to suggest.

With all of the commotion around sub-zero Geno was considering how to get a healing item safely to the other ship but it turned out he was not in any danger yet.

Geno looked over at Renji. "What is Kendo?" An island up ahead, it might be wherever this treasure is but thats a little fast. Might be just a random island.

"I'm glad you asked!" Lina told Beryl with enthusiasm. "Back where I'm from I'm known as the bandit killer. When I've got nothing better to do, I go around blasting bandits and, er, liberating them of their stolen treasure." She scratched her chin and looked up in thought. "Actually, I was so good at it that bandits became hard to come by - I moved on to pirates for a little while, so that's why I'm pretty used to the high seas. I've never been on a metal boat before now, though... and without sails. But I guess that's what coming to another world means, eh?" She elbowed Beryl playfully. "Oh, and I've saved the world - my world - a few times. One of those times, the time I fought Darkstar, there was a pillar of light eerily like the one here..." her expression turning darker, she looked up to the light far off in the distance.

"I, um." Aki began, and then realized she actually had no idea whatsoever what to ask him. Or at least, how to phrase it. She was quickly realizing that she didn't actually know him at all any further than his suit (she remembered him talking to people yesterday, vaguely, but she'd been busy with Beryl and not really in a position to listen to him) and the fact he appeared to be able to shoot straight. He hadn't caused any trouble or brought up anything about morals, and he was competent enough yo have not been wounded yet, and until just recently she'd only on the most basic of levels even registered he was there. He just hadn't really been important. Not with everything else going on.

The upshot was, she had no idea how to phrase it. If it was anything like hers his tattoo was almost definitely a personal point, something he probably didn't like to even really think about, but... she had to know what it was. It was open to the air, too, lying in plain sight on the back of his head. Almost on display, as if he simply didn't care who saw it. That probably meant he wasn't like her, but it didn't matter. The fact he had it there at all was what mattered.

"The.. you know." She gestured, vaguely. Awkwardly. "On the back of your head. Um. Where did it, um... where did it come from?"

Sorry about that Koro, timezones and IRL conspired to make this the most ridiculously late reply ever.

"Yeah, Ithee gets real finicky about misinterpretation about his species," Oswald said to Rainbow Dash. "And essentially, yeah, humans are really just mostly hairless apes, but individual personalities range from kind, gentle, and wouldn't hurt a fly to being the worst form of villain imaginable. Collectively, they're all kinda cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, but they got plenty of potential for innovation and creativity and many are pretty swell once you get to know them. I should know, I was created by one."

Soon the three ships neared the port town......and immediately all cannons and every single guard had their guns pointed at the three vessels.

Minako smiled a laughed a bit when he told her about the incidents at the schools. She knew that Junpei would never pay attention in class again if he could just download everything...not that he did now anyways actually. His mention of it being like an idea forming did bring another question to her mind. "So does learning things the old fashioned way take up some of that memory too? How much space is in your head, 8 gigs?" Minako asked, bit of a smile on her face.
