Eh, it's a post. I wanted to write a bit more from Connie and Davey at the end, but I think that can wait until next time. Long winded as is. Sorry for the wait.

"It's better to burn out... THAN TO FADE AWAY!"Take the time you need, man.
You have my condolences. Please take as much time as you need, friend.
Well, I just spent some time planning out Character Space Liner (should it be called Character Starship instead for simplicity?), and I came up with the text that would go in the first post of the thread:
Flying around in the nearest and farthest reaches of outer space, the IMSnote Carpe Noctem is an intergalactic cruise liner of astronomical proportions. She is truly built for luxury, featuring all the amenities the most extravagant of ocean liners would provide, except IN SPACE! It even looks like an ocean liner, though without a hull. It has no destination and seemingly no origin, picking up and dropping off passengers during its aimless wandering through the universe and allowing them to seize the night.
Instead of people, the ship is staffed by robots, ones of every conceivable shape, size, and type. These robots are all generally benevolent and are suited to every service and maintenance job on board, from bartenders to janitors to bellhops to the elusive starship captain. However, it would seem the ship is far too large for its purpose, as there are a few large areas left abandoned or underattended. Having not to worry about weight limits, it can fit thousands of passengers, and features thousands of hotel-style rooms to accomodate them.
Passengers arrive in one of several ways. Some mysteriously teleport in from transport decks. Some arrive on space pods (the ship's equivalent of life boats) traveling to and from planets the ship passes by. Others even arrive on their own, mainly smaller, starships, for which the Carpe Noctem has storage space on the bottom deck. And in the same fashion, they can leave at their will.
There are no special memberships on this ship's fares - such is only determined by the guests renting out spaces like rooms, ship docking stations, and storage facilities. And there are no official rules, except the general consensus is to have fun and avoid damage to the ship and its occupants. It's an intergalactic space party, and everyone is welcome.
What do you think? The name of the ship is a placeholder, open to change, of course. I decided to model the ship after the MS Queen Elizabeth (rooms/floor plan) after all, though I think reducing the number of restaurants and lounges might be a good idea as it would encourage more characters to be close to one another and less isolated. I already came up with a list of facilities, along with descriptions for each. In fact, rather than post them here, I'm inclined to go ahead and create the thread page even though the thread doesn't exist yet just so we have a central place to put all the info - does that sound feasible? Regardless, here's a list of some of the facilities I had in mind:
Ship Docking Station: For parking individual spaceships that some characters may arrive on
Pod Station: Larger pods shuttle passengers off and on the ship from various planets (especially those that do not have space travel), as a way to enter/exit the thread. Smaller ones can be rented to fly around the ship for fun.
Nebula Lobby: Main lobby of the ship, looking similar to the pictures MOC supplied (which I have links to on the document I wrote up for this), spanning three decks and containing an info desk where people can check into their rooms.
Solar Club: The Coolest Club Ever featuring multiple floors named after planets in the Earth's solar system, each with a robotic DJ.
Pool Deck: One covered by a glass dome open to the stars
Observation Deck: Like the pool deck, but with a quiet-ish lounge area instead of pools where bright lights are discouraged
Holodecks: Yes, it's plural. I had in mind four of them with different levels of gravity: heavy, moderate ("normal" gravity), light, and zero.
Multi-purpose Zero-G room: Another zero gravity room for sports and other shenanigans.
Arboretum: Gotta stop and enjoy nature, right? Mostly a flower garden with robot butterflies, though.
Playground: For kids and kids at heart - also has a soda fountain and small amusement park rides.
Abandoned theater: I like Eterna Memoria's idea of parts of the ship being empty - I basically looked at that large theater area on the Queen Elizabeth and thought "hmm, what if this was abandoned?"
Club Bizarre: Multi-purpose area of general weirdness, filled with strange objects and also featuring a tea parlor where tea is served on flying saucers.
And the usual facilites: various eating establishments (I have several ideas for those), a mini-mall, bars and lounges, hotel-style rooms and suites, sports center, fitness center, spa, library, computer room, arcade/gaming lounge...
I hope the part about letting characters arrive on smaller individual spacecrafts flies (haha, see what I did there?)... after all, I had the idea of having my group of five arrive because their own little starship has malfunctioned and they need a place to stay while repairing it.

Come, my child of the devil. Your mother is calling you. Hear my call in Hell's grand hall, where all our dreams come true.Condolences, VPhantom.
Managed to get some writing done on my post but it's tough going.
Sorry, Lady T, but I find it hard to respond to your posts as so much happens in them that I'm left with my characters being nothing more than inert observers while things unfold around them. I find it very hard to work out what to write in such cases as anything I might want to have my characters respond to have passed by and your characters have moved on to something else.
It's now midnight and I'm feeling bushed. The bustle of the first week back at work is over, so I should be settling back into my usual routine soon. Had an awesome visit from friends whom we have not seen in well over a year, so it was a busy and enjoyable weekend. That's over now and they're gone so I should be resuming abnormal transmissions any time now.
Take care, all, will try to get something posted tomorrow.
Sorry to hear that, VPhantom.
That's a neat design. And I like the detail about the literal flying saucers.
Still a great "screw depression" song even after seven years.I'm sorry, V Pantom. Take all the time you need, we'll be here whenever you're ready.
The last battle's curtains will open on stage!@lady: It's missing something...this.
It is horrible to hear this Phantom. Not that you shouldn't have told us that is, just that... I wont say we know how you feel because we are not you, but... well, I can't speak for everyone, but I do feel sad for what happened.
"The dried flowers are so beautiful, and it applies to all things living and dead."*Hugs VPhantom*
You have my condolences.
Brilliant. Rather, that should be the first movie playing in the movie theater.
I was going to originally be mad at the fact of the staff being robots, however, I think having a robotic desk clerk staring at Mari would be funnier.
What is wrong with robots?

"The dried flowers are so beautiful, and it applies to all things living and dead."I was originally going to have the desk clerk staring at Mari(someone with a larger-than-average bust size and outfits that tend to draw attention to that, among other things) when she checks in. It would make sense for a human male desk clerk to do so. Not so much for a machine.
I have nothing against machines. One of my characters is a gynoid. (And now I sound like a fantastic racist. I'm going to shut up now.)

You have my deepest condolences, Phantom. Take whatever time you need, we'll be here.

yey@V Phantom: That sounds awful. I don't know what to say.
So sorry if my post wasn't the best, but I've been holding back the Graveyard group long enough as is. However, as of tomorrow I'll probably be distracted by Fate Extella, so Tanuki may have to wait a little for my Noire Blanc post.
Regarding V... I already gave him my condolence on Skype. So yeah, it'll probably take him a few days minimum until he's in any kind of posting mood. Nonetheless, don't try to rush him.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."@Wolf: I can edit my post to cut it short if you like... perhaps the hospital one right before the part where Amanda shows up, and the wagon one right after Zuri's failed attempt to move her body (as I recall, Oswald didn't react much to Vicky showing up, so it shouldn't change much). I know sometimes I can get carried away with my posts, so maybe I'll try and make them shorter in the future, even though I'm really not good at making short posts.
EDIT: I trimmed my post - Ryuhza did mention Vicky showing up, but we can just ignore that I suppose. I saved my original post in case I need to change it back.

Come, my child of the devil. Your mother is calling you. Hear my call in Hell's grand hall, where all our dreams come true.Well, this is gonna be fun.
The Eyes and Teeth quite liked the Void Between the Worlds the way it was; it's liable to... react to assaults on its dominion. We'll see how it goes.
EDIT: Will take a while, though. Gotta dig up my set theory notes, make sure I've got the math right.

You fool, don't go assuming that people would want you to edit stuff! You can't read minds! Look what happened with that Graveyard post you made in Dream II where you edited out Sinistrina noticing the Golden Being, oh and speaking of which, you made another really long post with lots going on. Now please restore that post you made in Frontier and don't edit it any further without Wolf's input.
Uh... yes ma'am. *goes to edit*
Oh, speaking of Graveyard posts... I know I posted a little out of order there (was there really a proper order there?), but I had some unexpected free time tonight, and since I knew the post would be long, I figured that if I didn't get to it now, I wouldn't get to it until the weekend. Let me know if it interferes with anything you planned on having Gabe do.
Come, my child of the devil. Your mother is calling you. Hear my call in Hell's grand hall, where all our dreams come true.My condolences, V Phantom.
Since both Kkutwar's and ladytanuki's characters didn't react to that (I assume that's because they simply missed the post), I also need to remind the folks participating in the Graveyard battle that Ceallagh made an appearance there. Link to the post for those interested: [1]

Spiral out, keep going. Thanks for restoring the Frontier post back to its former glory - I had got as far as my wagon characters reacting to Vicky's arrival, would hate to have had to change it.
My post is just going to be somewhat light on interaction and mainly (uncharacteristic, in the case of some of my characters) silent reflection on what has happened.
Working on the post now. Managed to have a short nap before dinner - now I'm really starting to act like an old fart - so I'm a lot more refreshed than I would otherwise be.

Back at home for the foreseeable future, so posting should come a bit quicker on my end, when the time comes 'round again.
Very sorry to hear about your loss, V Phantom. That's awful.
this place needs me hereFor what it's worth, I've finally posted.
Now it's time to log into work - after all, it's twenty to eleven at night, here...
I would say Golden Being legitimately saw no reason to respond given he ain't here for a fight, whilst Armory Knight & Patches were too caught up to react.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think it'll be better for me to wait until the next thread.
