I just wondered about this. Knowing Hideo, it's very possible that if he discovered TV Tropes we might start seeing terms like "Lampshade" and "Chekhov's Gun" in his games.

It would be amusing to see the cast of Metal Gear Solid speaking with our unique vocabulary.

Meryll: What are you going to do this time around,Snake? This will be your twentyeth stealth game.

Snake: That was a hilarios lampshade you did there. I'm not sure. This game will probably be worse than the others since Hideo is trying to pull the whole "Springtime For Hitler" trope.

Meryll: What does lampshade mean? And what's a trope?
