Actually, I'm quite impressed that Excuse Plot has an entire folder for pinball... Frankly I would have supposed that every pinball game that ever had a plot would be on this page, if I'd even thought about it, and used so many words to say so; apparently this is not the case. Whoever launched or expanded that section is clearly a vigilante taxonomist of the highest order.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeablePinball can have a plot? 'Make the shiny ball hit as many things that go 'ping' as possible' is a plot?
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'One would think every "plot" every pinball machine has ever had would be an excuse to launch a little silver ball around a board to hit things to score points to get a high score. As long as it's fun, I don't see why most people would care.
Maybe there really is an epic story being played out on some four-color LED display somewhere...
pearlina brainrot affects millions of people worldwide. if you or a loved one are suffering from pearlina brainrot, call 1-800-GAY-NERDSIt can help. Maybe that's why I tend to prefer pinballs from the 1980's on... with the addition of text-capable score displays and initially rudimentary speech, it's possible to start caring about the Excuse Plot. Then the dot matrix displays became cuter and the games became fully voiced and the whole thing just became a lot more charming.
It's too bad Pinball 2000 didn't last. Video-quality graphics in a pinball could have led to actual ongoing plots. Some pinballs fake it better than others. Whodunnit comes to mind.
As far as I'm concerned plot in Pinball is a complete non-issue.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."The 'Return to unabridged version' line here.
"Did you expect somebody else?"Thank you. I am quite proud of that one.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.That was you? Well done!
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimThe original edit time shows as 6:05 in the morning. Which means I was sleep-deprived from being up all night when I added it.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Hilarious nonetheless. Well done, Madrugada.
I don’t even know anymore.Maybe it's just because I'm tired, but this entry on Cheek Copy made me literally LOL:
I just love how all the other Truth in Television entries boil down to Do Not Try This at Home, while this one is just instructions on how to fax someone an infinite series of butts.
No, no, you need to italicize it. It's instructions on how to send someone an infinite series of butts.

"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimThat is excellent. I changed the pointer back to the main page.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.So that's where that came from.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimHaha, great job. I'm from the South myself, so I get to meet people who are still mad that we lost.
The next Laconic on the index, for The American Revolution, is pretty good, too.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Oh yeah, that is pretty good.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Given my specialty, that made me choke on my coffee in laughter. <3
