Extremely important. The Luke, I Am Your Father reveal was, IIRC, pretty much the second to last thing that happened in the film. The "son of Anakin Skywalker" line was closer to halfway through. I haven't seen ESB in a while, so I may be slightly off on those timeframes.

If I'm remembering the end of Empire right, it's "I am your father," then Leia sensing Luke on the bottom of Cloud City and getting Lando to turn around and pick him up, and then straight to the space station for Luke to get his new hand installed.

Don't remember exactly when the Emperor's appearance is, but it's much earlier, yeah.

The Emperor appears shortly before the invasion of Hoth takes place just as the Imperial fleet assembles above the ice planet. I think that Vader leaves to talk with the Emperor immediately after strangling Admiral Ozzel to death.

[up] No, the Emperor holotransmission scene is when the Imperial fleet is searching for the Millenium Falcon in the asteroid fleet. At least it was there in the '97 release.

Not gonna lie, I cheered when I saw Ahsoka. Though I'm weirded out by how serene she seems at this point. I get that she's a full grown woman now but it's eerie to see the old action girl who was last seen running from the Jedi sound so calm and ethereal here

Thoroughly enjoyed this as well as what they're doing with Vader. Can't wait for more.

I also like that the show, and Kanan, know that they're no match for Vader. AT ALL! One always wants to see the heroes win but it's nice to see a boss fight that the heroes aren't looking to win from time to time but are just hoping to survive. On top of that I'll second the enthusiasm for the situation they've got going on with Vader here. HE's darn near a genius. His minions are not and I kind of like someone as powerful as that being tripped up by his underlings lol.

I haven't rewatched it yet but was it implied that Kanan doesn't know Darth Vader is Anakin? I'd never stopped to consider that the other surviving Jedi didn't know it was Anakin who betrayed them and became a Sith Lord.

I wouldn't just say it was "implied"; he absolutely has no idea.

I think this was the first time he (or possibly any of the rebels we've met so far) had ever even heard of Vader in the first place. There was a big sense of him not knowing what the hell he's up against or what is going on any more than Ezra does.

Neither he nor Ezra know at the end of the episode either, as Ahsoka is apparently keeping what she sensed in Vader a secret for now.

The only surviving Jedi who could know are Obi-Wan and Yoda since they saw the recording at the temple, and any Jedi who both managed to escape the temple while the attack was in progress and witnessed Anakin/Vader.

[down]Shit, I'm sorry.

Vader would not be recognized as Anakin by anyone unless they knew his Force presence well and made the connection, or if they saw his actions after he turned and before he got suited up, which would be Yoda and Obi-Wan given that Anakin and the clones slaughtered *everyone* in the Temple. I'm not even sure if Bail knows.

So, no surviving Jedi would have any reason to suspect that Anakin and Vader were one and the same, especially since they might not have even known anything about Anakin or Vader.

[up]If Bail does know, then he's kind of a jerk for not having told Ahsoka, considering that they seem to have been working together for a while.

I have to say, I was kinda worried that Vader would suffer some kind of Badass Decay to fit in that show. In TCW, you could have a very powerful villain, because there were plenty powerful heroes too to match them - Yoda, Obi-Wan, Windu... But here, with the sole Ragtag Bunch of Misfits and an Ahsoka who may not have practiced that much if she focused on helping people...

But then I was proved wrong in spectacular fashion. It reminded me of Amazo coming back to Earth to find Luthor in Justice League. You could sense the fear of all the heroes on Earth at the prospect of facing the Android, and he delivered on what he promised. Heck, even when it comes to TIE fighting Vader is too strong for the heroes.

I think it was a very respectful adaptation. Good to see that almost forty years later, the threat is still there.

Not sure if I'd call Siege of Lothal great, but it was pretty good. Best part of the episode was Darth Vader, hands down. Sure, his one man army moments were impressive, but the way he planned everything was just amazing. Even at the start of the episode where Tua was hesitant about Imperial plans seemed carefully calculated - it's like the other Imperials were suspicious of her (which I guess was foreshadowed in Call to Action), so they knew exactly how to use her for their plan. Also the Imperials actually seemed to dominate this time around, though I'm sure some people will still wish for a higher body count. Tua's revelations regarding the Emperor were intriguing - do you think he might be interested in Ezra? Also I have to wonder why Ahsoka would lie to Kanan and Ezra despite her reaction obviously indicating that she knew it was Vader? There were some funny lines here and there too (Ezra stealing Zeb's catchphrase and NOT HIM for example). Guess the only real cons I had were that Sabine getting shot scene (I don't care if it's armour doing it's actual job, her not even getting slightly injured really stretched it) - come to think of it, since when was Sabine a mechanic? Not sure if I'm cynical or something, but I'm worried she might end up being kind of OP (the infamous jumping around from the S1 finale doesn't help things). Also Kanan seemed to recover from that injury awfully quickly, and the action and some of the visuals weren't exactly too impressive, though the space battles were fine (like... Vader pwning Phoenix Squadron). But yeah, overall pretty good.

So I saw the season 2 premier. All I can really say as how I love how they properly portrayed Vader as The Dreaded.

I agree, Vader's portrayal was masterfully done, with a realistic Curb-Stomp Battle without being over the top. Especially impressive is the demonstration of his piloting skills, which we don't fully see in the original trilogy as far as I remember. Good to see Annie hasn't lost his touch.

I'm not sure about the Phoenix Squadron themselves. The guys were a bad case of We Hardly Knew Ye and I never liked that. They clearly served to paint Vader as a threat of almost Game-Breaker level. Ahsoka's role in this episode was also not very satisfying, a far cry from her proactive m. o. we used to see in The Clone Wars. But I'm still expecting a battle between her and Vader. Oh, and I laughed like crazy at the tractor beam bungle..

[up]x5 Are those Chopper's TIE fighter kill records painted on the hull? Or just "lol lol lol lol"?

[up]x6 I don't think Bail knows. Obi-Wan and Yoda are known to keep Jedi affairs a secret even from trusted allies. It's more likely that they fed him the same bullshit that they did Luke - that Anakin was murdered by Palpatine's new sith apprentice.

Now, there has been concern from The Force Unleashed fans that such an awesome character as Galen Marek is being erased out of continuity (I view everything that hasn't explicitly being retconned with the new canon as "Schrödinger's continuity" - it is and isn't canon at the same time). Now with the Alliance already established, I'm sure we won't be getting Marek. But between his deceased rebel parents, his strong Force sensitivity, his tapping in The Dark Side and being Luke's age, Ezra seems to be shaping up as his expy. What do you think?

So I just got back into this.

I've bounced around catching a few eps here and there (saw Erza make his Light-Saber, and the Lando Ep, and other stuff), but I somehow knew about this (either saw a picture, or a commercial) so when my brother told me someone big was popping in to the series, I immediately knew who he was talking about.

It helps that he mentioned General Tano (She's back motherfuckers), and I made the connection right away.

Anakin was a whiny bitch, and will always be a whiny bitch....but Darth Vader delivers......Pain and beatdowns.

He pretty much ran the whole damn show.

Also, it's interesting to see that he was unaware that Asohka was alive (then again, how could she not be, as she was MIA during order 66).

Now that this particular bus has finally reached it's destination) the inevitable meeting between Asohka and Anakin will finally show us if that bus is [[BusCrash gonna crash and burn.

Come to think of it, the same goes for Canaan and Erza when you think about it. We know they ain't around during A New Hope.

Something is gonna happen to all of them. Asohka is just gonna be first.

Well, I'll try and keep an eye on what's going down.

[up][up]I wouldn't necessarily call Galen Marek an amazing character—fun to play as, serviceable for side-plot, great potential under a competent writer, sure. But the character arc we got was kind of bland, and didn't do much to balance out his blatant Sue-ness. Not that I'm not a fan.

Also, the hooks to Galen as a character are a.)Vader's secret apprentice, b.)brutally trained child soldier, and c.)overpowered as fuck. You don't need to add "secret founder of the rebel alliance" to justify him.

I am personally hoping the other elements from TFU make it here. Galen is a hard character to adapt, but his entire supporting cast works fine without him.

Juno Eclipse, a reluctant Imperial pilot who slowly grows disilussioned with the Empire and switches sides? Fits this show perfectly.

PROXY, a soft-spoken murderbot who does not seem to bear any ill-intent to anyone but still wants to kill the targets it has been designed for? Fits this show perfectly (they could give him to Vader or some other villain at some point in the future).

Rahm Kota, a cynical, bitter and arrogant Empire-obsessed Jedi? Fits this show even more than perfectly.

And so forth

[up] Kazdan Paratus - a former Jedi master turned Shell-Shocked Veteran from the ordeal of surviving Order 66; he is shown to communicate with handmade sculptures of the Jedi council and regularly consults "them" for advice.

Shaak Ti - a Jedi council member sharing the same homeworld as Ahsoka who has the same wisdom as Obi-Wan and Yoda in desiring to exile herself into obscurity, but is forced to blow her cover due to the naive and idealistic personality of her apprentice.

With the decanonization of The Force Unleashed, I can't help but pity poor Shaak Ti, who just can't seem to catch a break with one decanonized death after another. They'd better not just revive her back to life again only to be Back for the Dead sad

Hey now, Clone Wars!Anakin was a pretty cool character.

Part of me wishes that Disney could just drop the prequels to better flesh out Anakin's fall to darkness.

[up][up]Hilariously, Shaak Ti does not actually have a clear canon death of any sort in the new continuity. Which makes it remotely possible that she might not even die at all.
