So then we don't know any of their ranks?
Felicia is C? I thought she was B or something?
Well, I'll keep looking around. There has to be something about it somewhere.
One Strip! One Strip! So, while randomly looking up more stuff on this series (again), I took a good look at Jon Talbain...
Holy shit. He's actually pretty awesome. He's a fucking kung fu Wolf Man.
He's a fucking BRITISH Kung Fu Wolf Man!
How is this guy not getting more screen time on that alone? I mean, I know these days it's Waifus (hence why Morrigan and Felicia are so popular, even if they predate that time), but still. The premise behind this guy alone should be getting him far more attention.
Then again, at least he doesn't seem to be despised on general principle the way Rikuo is.

One Strip! One Strip! With any luck, Capcom might put him into Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. He apparently almost made it into MVC 3, and X did make it in through fan demand, so there is hope for Jon.
A corpse should be left well enough alone.........you mean you didn't already know all that?
Yesterday I rediscovered an old Darkstalkers doujinshi — Kokuyoku no Tenma, lit. "Black-winged Heavenly Demon" — with a really interesting plot. Fun fact: The artist behind it never planned on it turning pornographic; it just became that way as he progressed in drawing the story. Though considering the fact that the MC is Morrigan, it probably should've been predictable.
Anyway, the gist of the story is this: Morrigan is wandering the streets of a town in her human guise like she usually does when she's bored and doesn't want to spend time in her castle, when all of a sudden a demon tries to ambush her. She naturally finds it trivially easy to block his attack, not even caring that the big blade he wielded cut through her hand... but a human young man then jumps in trying to stop the scuffle (he probably thought the attacker's slightly inhuman body features were weird prosthetics/make-up), earning him a hand injury for his trouble and Morrigan's irritation for getting himself caught in their fight.
Then she suddenly gets all woozy when she tries to pursue the escaping demon. Apparently the blade is no ordinary weapon; it's a demonic blade. When she later wakes up in the young man's home and telepathically asks her demon butler about it, he recognizes the identity of the weapon.
Good news: It only disrupted Morrigan's Healing Factor such that she needed considerably more magical power than usual to heal the wound. She should be back to normal by now.
Bad news: Any human who gets cut by this blade will have their heart stop within a handful of hours.
Out of pity for the young man's unnecessary attempt at heroism dooming him to such a premature death, Morrigan decides to reveal her identity to him, his impending doom, and offer to give him the best sex he could ever have in exchange for his soul, which would also allow him to live on through her (obviously this is drawing upon the UDON comic, where she has a Many Spirits Inside of One Soul Jar thing when it comes to humans whose souls she consumes).
The ending has Morrigan finally track down the demon who attacked her, and the last panel shows a very menacing sneer on her face before cutting away from the inevitable slaughter.
Thoughts?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I dig it.
Although I thought even before/outside that comic the souls of people she fed off of turned into those bats that hover around her, do her bidding, served as her clothes, etc.....

Well, I'd never really looked up anything on him before. I only knew the vaguest details really.
As for the Doujin...sounds like something plausible considering who's involved. As Doujins go, I'd say it's even one of the more justified reasons for sex.
One Strip! One Strip! That the art style surprisingly looks good despite being rather old-school is another plus. Too bad the artist didn't do more doujinshi about Morrigan.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.ugh hate porn.
Talbain isn't popular in Japan or some madness. Shame, he's the original Lucario! Always one of my favorites. I actually like Rikuo too and he had one of the best themes in DS 1.
really the only DS members I don't care for much are Pyron(whose okay just his stance is stupid) and Queen Bee who feels weird since it seems like we would've gotten a witch of some sort before a vespa.
Why do you think that is? Like I said, he seems pretty cool. Is it because he's not Morrigan...or Felicia...or Demitri?
One Strip! One Strip!Tier Induced Scrappy was a cause of it I think.
But Japan's taste in characters is kind of odd to say the least. Demetri isn't liked much either and apparently Lord Raptor too? smh

Shit. So he's not very good then?
Or he's too good and everyone just used him?
One Strip! One Strip! He's consistently top/upper tier so probably because he's too good.
Or something idk. That would explain Lord Raptor being unpopular too since he's top tier in Savior.
Japan tends to like cute/pretty things, which is why the more monstrous characters in a game about American movie monsters have always had trouble gaining a foothold. Darkstalkers in general and Jon in particular have always been at their most popular in the West, while Capcom's had trouble getting their Japanese audiences interested in anyone other than Felicia and Morrigan. Which is why they're pretty much always the two ambassadors of the franchise in crossovers.

Dammit Japan!
Like what you like I mean. I'm not saying you shouldn't like that shit, but c'mon! At least appreciate a cool concept when you see it.
One Strip! One Strip!furry using kung fu isn't a cool concept tho
I respect your opinion friend.
I totally disagree with it, but I still respect it.
One Strip! One Strip!Pssh. Werewolf Bruce Lee is awesome. Lighten up.
oh hey look furry hate.
Back in the 90s "furry"type characters were all over the place/pretty popular even and didn't have nearly the stigma that message board fiends have given them during the social media age. I'm not even a furry but I detest this reflex aversion towards any design that seems to invoke "furry" appeal as it feels like hating something for the sake of hating it because somebody else told you it was bad. I know there are a few who genuinely dislikes those designs and always have but some/many people seem to hate any anthropomorphic animal because they associate them with furries rather than actually judging the design on its own merit, it automatically becomes furshit. It's ridiculous.
So in other words, the Internet.
One Strip! One Strip! It gets ridiculous when werewolves automatically get labeled as "furry" when the entire concept of the werewolf is anything but fetishized and romantic outside of paranormal romance.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterCause if he was made nowadays he'd be a dog eared human who howls alot and maybe turns into a wolf for a super or something.
I was sort of half-joking, but a werewolf using kung fu is acting too much like a human to be a monster. He may as well just be a guy wearing a costume.
One of the characters is a rock'n'roll zombie who slams his opponents through a demonic basketball hoop as a special move. If you're trying to take this seriously, you might have the wrong idea.
I think I want to remember seeing something somewhere that said Felicia was C-rank, and Talbain was in the 'B' range..... but honestly, I can't provide a citation, so I could be totally wrong.
