Things You are No Longer Allowed to Do in an RPG

re: 3 of 4: we haven't had the chance to force him to make a ruling one way or the other. Yet.

For our party's loonie Feluccian: just because you can dump your memories of what happened via mindlink instead of explaining them verbally, doesn't mean you should. (Very nearly led to one party member—a Bothan spynet agent with a penchant for secrecy—vowing to kill said Feluccian, until, in a first, our horrified GM retcon'd out the whole scene on the grounds of "no, just no!")

Do the cartographers have access to aerial/spaceborne imagery with sufficient spatial resolution to make out good details and stereoscopic capabilities for drawing up digital elevation models?

If so, shouldn't take them long to redo it.

• My Druid/Monk can't have a staff that he can transform into a longbow (even if he wastes half his turn to do so).
• I also can't trade Acrobatics out for Athletics in the middle of the character's first session just because the one turns out to have so much more use than the other (and also the other's primary use (in my experience) is made completely redundant by one of his Monk features).

EDIT: Also, from a different campaign with the same DM:

• Not allowed to "just sit around and wait for the plot to show up" when it's my character who's just time-traveled back 50 years.
• (Not me) Once you voice a character with an accent, you gotta stick with that accent when voicing them. Even if said accent is an apparently random conglomeration of Scottish, British, Jamaican, and who knows what else.

I am never allowed to take the Fold Space Force Power in Star Wars Saga Edition.(allows you to teleport an object to anywhere within line of sight, or people if they're in the object).

I am especially not allowed to do so if my more combat-oriented partner uses a modified walker unit. (Force-augmented walker unit is an object that can seat two people).

I am definitely not allowed to take the Advanced Fold Space Talent, even if I do travel the entirety of the galaxy searching for the single Force Tradition that knows it. (allows you to simulate a hyperspace jump with a Use the Force check).

And lastly, I am not allowed to simply Farsee where the cloned Emperor is and teleport a chunk of star into his lap.

Even if it did work in Farscape.

Space-Jesus, Frishman, how high-leveled is your party? (Out GM lets us use Fold Space. It's less useful than it sounds.)

So, lessee.

• If some of the biological party members are under Force influence, there are better ways of snapping them out of it than with the droid's buzzsaw.
• If you critically succeed on a Mind Trick to convince a brothel's bouncer that you have "the VIP treatment" reserved, you better believe there will be consequences. (Hilarious and then HSQ ones.)
• The GM didn't necessarily mean Force-pushing the hovercar off the ledge of the skyscraper when he observed you needed a distraction. But hey, it worked!
• When there's an encampment out in the middle of the jungle that isn't confirmed to be hostile, and you want them to stay that way, ambushing their scouts in the middle of the jungle is a bad way to go about doing it.

He's level 8. Turns out Skill Focus (Use the Force) is fucking broken.

Note that we started the campaign at level 5, and the whole "search the galaxy" part was officially part of my character's back story.

Also note that that last thing didn't actually happen. Our GM preemptively banned me from doing it. In game. As it turns out, Skill Focus (Intimidate) is also broken when Kyle freaking Katarn drops a Death Glare on you.

Which is how our party's level 4 Jedi can routinely block shots at DC 25 or 26, more so when you add in Noble competence bonuses, or roll 10d6 worth of damage with a good Force Push roll. (We nicknamed "inspire confidence" as "inspire competence" because that's exactly what it did. Snowball the Droid Noble has saved the party's collective bacon many, many times due to her bonuses.)

• Not allowed to try and jump from a prone position to a standing one multiple squares away.
  • Yes, the DM let me get away with it ^note (or try to; I missed it by a hair because I didn't want to use Crane's Wings) in the first session, but I was lying on a bed that time.

A inversion for a current BESM campaign: yes, with the right build, I am allowed to combine the Gun Bunny: Two Hands attribute with the One Arm disadvantage.

Over a month later and I still can't picture how that would look.

Hold one rightside up and use the pointer finger for the trigger; hold the other upside down in the same hand and use the pinky. You have the thumb and two whole other fingers left to aim them with.

So basically, Death the Kid on crack. And with even more leet finger hax.

I can not punch out a TIE fighter, no matter what the dice say. I can not eat a Sith Holocron. I can not eat a Sith Lord.

Actually, her left hand was replaced with an unsharpened hook. GM agreed to let me make that unscrewable, and have what was essentially a sawn-down blunderbuss screw onto the prosthetic instead.

I am no longer allowed to turn major NP Cs quasi-gay if they were intended to have a relationship with another major NPC.

(My current character sex-swaps regularly, I seduced while as a guy as a joke... and got a nat 20. Now I've got a world famous duelist and level 11 character as a hopeless follower)

Oh! And I have a skeleton who follows me, too.

I conclude from this that you seduced a skeleton, and you will not convince me otherwise. Well done.

...okay, I admit, that's awesome.

If were playing exalted and a non-heroic mortal can kick my ass, my character is veto'd

Apparently my DM is trying to veto me from dying. I've had three characters die in our current Pathfinder campaign and their equipment ends up joining the loot pile and since we're high levelish its a lot of coin in the party's pocket.

So despite the fact that the DM has been the direct cause of my three character deaths, he wants me to not die anymore.

When he voiced this at the last game the party pretty much shouted him down for killing off my characters and that it was the risk he wanted to take if he wanted to be lethal to the party.

Seems like it would be easier to just institute a policy where fallen characters get buried with their gear. You know, like the party's made up of civilized folk who don't have looting as part of the grieving process.

Chaotic Neutral party that is heavily leaning towards "Loot Everything not nailed down and then everything that is nailed down". We can't just switch what has been going for over a year now.

Oh yeah, if my DM decides to kill my current character off (ridiculous charisma and high social skills, you say? When will that be useful), I plan on getting everything passed to the Antipalladin with whom I have an... arrangement (he helps me out, I don't make his life a living hell and turn him in to the church for being a dhampir)
