Your best and worse Impulse Buys

Best impulse buy: Pokémon Fire Red. Seriously. I impulse-bought a Pokémon game.

Best: Probably Borderlands or Terraria.

Worst: Dino D-Day.

Worst: Blood Bowl. It'd be ok if it weren't for the "Blind Idiot" Translation.

Best is probably Custom Robo.

Worst, I'd say 1.. 2.. 3.. Kick It.

Best is Rayman 3D

Worst is Sonic Genesis

The only impulse buy I can think of that I haven't really regretted is Blaz Blue: Continuum Shift II for the PSP. On the other hand, there's Kirby Super Star Ultra (decent, but not worth 30 bucks, IMO) Blaz Blue Calamity Trigger (let's just say the sequel was a lot better), both Soul Calibur IV and Soul Calibur Broken Destiny, and a ton of downloadable games, like Threads of Fate, World of Mana, Max & the Magic Marker, Street Fighter Alpha 2...

Best: Soul Calibur 4. Worst: Spider-Man 3.

Best: Used PS 2 with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.

Worst: Animorphs on the GBC. I am a really big fan of the series, and when I saw the game while I was on a trip, I instantly bought it. For those who don't know, it's a terrible Pokemon clone with bad everything.

Best: Killing Floor

Worst: Funny story, I bought Sonic Adventure DX, instead of Sonic Adventure 2.

I never got why people hated Sonic Adventure DX.

Anyway, Best impulse buy: Nier. While the gameplay was okay, the story and the wonderful music and all that stuff just pulled me in. Also, there's Assassin's Creed. I've been planning to get the second one ever since.

Worst: .... I tend to enjoy most of the games I buy but the closest one I can think of is Atelier Rorona. It's not that I hate it, it's just that I haven't found time to play more of it and the year system kind of bugs me.

Worst, Might and Magic series from gog. Why? I'm not really into dungeon crawlers

More like impulse rent, but I made the mistake of being intrigued by Two Worlds 2's box art. Frustrating, unintuitive combat, boring dialogue, takes way too long to get into the actual story.

All in all, not a very good game.

Best: Fallout New Vegas. I had never played a game in the series before (though I had heard about it via this site) and its my second favorite game of 2010 (behind Mass Effect 2)

I just remembered that I actually thought a bit about buying that.

My real best: Suikoden V. It got my into one of my favorite RPG series, even though it ended after one last game, that while better than most give it credit for, was only tangentially related to the rest of the series.

Worst: The Last Remnant: It was actually a decent game, but the 360 version's level scaling system can easily make battles last forever and I had played it for months before getting bored, rushing to the final boss, getting my ass kicked and watching the ending via youtube.

Best: the first KOTOR on steam. For someone like me who very much enjoyed the NWN series, it was fun playing through.

Worst: Supreme Commander 2. Especially since I payed full price for it.

I swear I already posted in this thread. Anyway:

• Best: hard to decide between Ghostbusters and Mount And Blade Warband. WH 40 K: Kill Team also comes close, as I bought it primarily for playing with friends that dropped by.
• Worst: The Force Unleashed and Hammerfight. The first is a disappointing, mediocre game, while the second is Nintendo Hard (but it's a Fake Difficulty caused by retardedly clunky steering).

Young Me does not regret buying Pikmin at a Blockbuster. Or FF 5 sitting in a garage sale. (gilgamesh oh how i <3 your hilarious antics)

Best: Deus Ex. Worst: Blood Bowl.

Best: Command And Conquer: The First Decade

Worst: Great Battles of Rome

• Better: Final Fantasy X
• Incredibly Stupid: Splinter Cell Double Agent.

Best: Blaz Blue Calamity Trigger

Worst: Hmmmm... tough one, I've bought a lot of shite games on impulse. Probably Fire Warrior, simply because Imperial Guardsmen should not be able to take an entire clip from a fucking Tau Pulse Rifle. Here's hoping Space Marine portrays Boltguns properly.

Also Xenosaga 2 is shit.

True story.

ANYWAY.

Best: Blaz Blue Calamity Trigger and Persona 4.

Worst: Street Fighter IV. One of the worst fighting games I've ever had the displeasure of playing.

I'm not a fan of it either, but isnt that a bit much? I mean, at least it's not KOF Maximum Impact. Or Ehrgeiz.
