Fun fact: if you find a Puzzle Ring (legendary ring) and have no use for it, toss it in the cube on it's own, with nothing else, and transmute. Boom, portal to Vault.
Fun times.
So, I normally don't give any credence to the "old Blizzard" (good) vs "new Blizzard" (eeeeeevvviill, lazy, etc). However, there is one thing I miss about "old Blizzard"—
Secret expansion songs.
While I work on bounties I'm listening to "Greetings", the Cain rap from Lord of Destruction, and I wish we had one for Reaper of Souls. Like Auto-Tune the shit out of Malthael or something. Maybe New Horadrim Guy can also have a rap, "featuring Deckard Cain".
Why not a touching duet of Leah and Prime Evil Diablo? ...or is that a solo? Or maybe some weird song that Lady Gaga wishes she could produce, if only her body was hijacked by the reborn embodiment of all evil.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I've been in the Vault once so far and picked up something like 150 million gold from it. I can transmute all the Flawless Royal gems I want!!!

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"150 million gold
Oh, oh! It should have been obvious: Leah should do some parody of "Let It Go", and instead of Dr. Manhattening Icecrown Citadel, she just burns Heaven to cinders.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Well, you can pick up 30 million easy from a Gilded Baron on Torment V-VI.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Wow. Still not at Torment levels yet, running Expert as a whole.
Think I finally found a build I like for the witch doctor. Basically shooting ghosts with Haunt and Spirit Barrage as my mouse buttons and a horde of pets for my remaining. Fetishes in particular, I loved Trilogy of Terror and hated the little bastards in the last game. Revenge!

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984So I came back to 2.3 and found that some old builds like 6-pc Akkhan's and Marauders weren't too viable in the higher Torments. And running low on Death's Breaths really, really sucks. Thankfully, I managed to get T7-viable builds (or the closest equivalent) up on my main chars juuuust before running out, thanks to some very lucky re-rolls in Kanai's cube. I think I'll probably just farm T7 for a while longer...
So, question. Is Jade Harvester viable in T7 and above, or should I stick to Zuni's?

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.I pray none of you die laughing at this. God knows I almost did...
I think the best synergy for Convention is with a Wizard using Tal Rasha's.
The thing about Convention though is that even if you only use one element, it's still an average 40% damage boost (since you do 260% damage a quarter of the time), with bonus burst potential. Which beats out most other options anyway. Being able to use any extra elements is just gravy on an already great item.
The only rings I can imagine replacing it with are the Focus-Restraint set.

Didn't someone link that when it came out?
Also, do we have a page for Carbot's stuff? 'cause we should.
but HOW?Yeah, we definitely did, but it bears repeating, 'cause come on - Carbot's more gold than 24 karat.
When I heard that, I desperately searched for any of Carbot's pages. No dice.
I am still waiting for an inevitable discount for Diablo 3 and ROS, but this seems to be a useless endeavor, since I'm sure most of the attention now goes for Starcraft 2 LOTV. Yet, my country's monetary is so weak that buying both would be murder on my wallet. $80. For a game and its expansion. Man!
That being said, when Rotpar mentioned 'Old Blizzard vs New Blizzard'... let's just say I'm pretty much apathetic on both sides. New Blizzard (and its fans) might be making SOME mistakes, but Old Blizzard fans' with their obsession of Nostalgia and 'Dark for the sake of Dark (or tragedy), with no fix' just rubs me the wrong way. And that's all I'll say about this before things go out of control.
It's not just a story thing- it's about gameplay as well. I've met people who say Brood Wars had better gameplay and balance than Starcraft II. (I've also met people who have actually played Brood Wars and have no idea what the crap those other guys are talking about.)

but HOW?They'd usually cite the closing down of Blizzard North and then worship that company as hell, while dissing the current Blizzard known as 'Activision Blizzard'. Is this just me, or maybe they're just riding on the hate train of 'Activision is Evil'?
Seriously, though, this got me curious. I never knew about Blizzard North from the beginning, I only know 'Blizzard'. What games did they make back then and how... different it was than the current Blizzard? (Mind you, I do love Diablo 2. I just don't diss the newer games and worship the older games for nostalgia's sake).
It's good to see there are sanity amongst fandom. They weren't kidding when it's declared that some of Blizzard's games houses some of the worst fandoms in the world.

North only made the first two Diablo games. After they got cut, they made the Torchlight series.
Weirdly enough, people seem to think North made Starcraft 1 and Brood Wars as well sometimes. I have no idea why.
but HOW?I finally got Marauder's on my DH — made it viable to play at T6+ all of a sudden. Watching all my Sentries fire Multishot with homing rockets at the same time is awesome.
I've been experimenting with a Wizard build using Vyr's + Chantodo's to build an invincible Archon, but waiting for the next cooldown is painful. Any advice? Yes, I am using Evocation and Obs-Zod.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I do love me some Marauder's. Struggles past Torment 7 though. I'm considering levelling another Demon Hunter because I want to go higher but I love me some Maraudin'.
You probably need to wear or cube The Swami (Wizard Hat), since that allows you to retain the Archon bonuses between cooldowns. Obviously, put a Diamond in the head socket.
Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.I have yet to find a Swami. Working on it. I should have considered putting a diamond in my helm.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"As an aside, Marauder's really couldn't keep up with T7 requirements. I've switched to Natalya's while trying to level up my gems. Currently running:
- Barbarian: Trying out a Physical IK / Wastes 2pc Rend build because my IK / Leapquake build felt too fragile - may switch back to it with a few adjustments.
- DH: Natalya's, Fire, uses Strafe as the spender to reduce Rain's CDR.
- Monk: Raiment, Physical. Thinking of cubing my only Flying Dragon (Ancient, dammit!) in order to use Shenlong's.
- Wizard: Firebird's. Debating about whether or not to put on the Tal Rasha's belt and amulet for fun.
- WD: Helltooth / Zuni combo - the latter for survivability more than anything. DPS hasn't started suffering yet.
- Crusader: Roland's Lightning, Sweep / Bash combo.
Did they increase the drop rate of legendaries and etc?
I've gotten several plans and a number of legendary and set drops just leveling my Hardcore Witch Doctor in Master today, while using my regular old Wizard in Torment #s I'd only see them once in a blue moon.
p.s. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. My Witch Doctor died. Level 66. So close to getting the trophy. :'(

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Speaking of increases...
Did they seriously drop the game's price to $20 each? (D3 vanilla and RoS)
Double post...
Well, so I decided to get the PC version of Diablo 3. My earlier impression in this is that:
- WHY CAN'T I TYPE SPACE OR '-' FOR A NAME!? Oh, there goes my chance to name my female Wizard just like how I named her in my PS3 edition.
- While the core gameplay is the same, the way it's carried out... whoa, mama. I think I'm suffering Damn You, Muscle Memory! here. Right clicking needs to be at a direction where your mouse is pointing, not where you're looking at. As a result, channeled spells like Ray of Frost or Arcane Torrent have rather big chance of missing instead of being an all-accurate stream of doom. Also I seem to have better appreciation to AOE spells, I never really bothered with Arcane Orb before, but now I did, and it's coo'. Still I might want to make a good decision at this point, do I stick with the good ol' beam-o-war, or do I do the single-strike AOE, like Arcane Orb. And that's not when I will get gems like Archon.
- But on the other hand, I think I might have an "Eureka!" Moment here about why I tend to get sleepy when I play my PS 3. I think it's one of these:
- Their auto-aim mode always make it easy to get to an enemy target, so that takes away a bit of a challenge.
- I think I love the Wizard class best...
- But on the other hand, I think I might have an "Eureka!" Moment here about why I tend to get sleepy when I play my PS 3. I think it's one of these:
- Sooooo... just before facing Leoric, I decided "ah fuck the lower difficulty level, let's go with Expert right away!". I hope this won't be so bad in the future.
Well now. The question is, when is the right time to hit Adventure Mode? Wait till I get Torment difficulty, or I can just jump in right away?
You can jump into Adventure mode as soon as it's unlocked; the difficulty doesn't matter. Compared to Story mode, you will on average get better rewards given the various bounty and rift bonuses, and it auto-unlocks any craftsmen and followers that you didn't already have on that account, save for Kanai's Cube, of course, which can only be unlocked in Adventure mode.
There are some Story mode bonuses, however, such as the guaranteed legendary drops for your first kills of Diablo (level 1-60) and Malthael (any level), plus quest XP to help you level faster.
Generally speaking, the ideal difficulty to level up from scratch in is Hard, since it has the highest xp-to-monster-strength ratio. You shouldn't have any difficulty killing stuff in that mode. Crafting is your best shot at ideal gear since good legendaries will be pretty scarce up until you start pushing Torment. Once you get into the 68-70 range, content takes a pretty big difficulty spike, so you may have to set the difficulty back a step until you've got enough gear to push back into Torment+.
Starter legendary gear (Blackthorne's, the crafted sets, etc.) can get you into the Torment III-IV range depending on class and build. To advance higher, you'll need the bonuses from the class-specific sets.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Ok, good to hear. I remember walking into Nightmare "Welcome to hard mode, you take DOUBLE DAMAGE from magic, enjoy this guy who shoots ice and shits lightning whenever you hit him!" and resistance being the end-all stat...if you could get it.
Also, decided that Zulton Kulle is the Best Character. I agree with him, we should be riding angels and demons as mounts.
EDIT:
Holy shit! I clicked on a treasure goblin as it died to get something it dropped and now I'm in the Vault. This place is amazing and I've doubled my gold...and I'm not done yet. I'm shooting every doodad I see just in case it wants to vomit a quarter of a million gold too...all while listening to Pink Floyd's "Echoes" too.
