Your apology is congenially accepted, Angry Scientist. ^_^
Back on topic, it appears the original image is in the lead. I'm not too familiar with how these crowner polls work; how long do these things have to go on before we can say a consensus has been reached?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Until a consensus has been reached that a consensus has been reached.
Basically until there aren't any new votes being added. Right now it seems that we'll just have to put the original pic back up.
Reaction Image RepositoryI suppose the original image is fine.
Let's just be done with it.
I'd prefer Flapjack, I think he is a much more recognizable indication of the trope. But eh, if most of you want the anime dude then let it be the anime dude.
From the looks of it, this is a Yaoi-specific trope for a boy who's girly and crybaby-ish, and not just a hyperactive "Genki Guy", so to speak.
As such, we should divert that into its own separate trope.
Its not specificly a Yaoi trope its just that there is more to an actual Keet it than just a Energetic Guy. (which strikes me as a trope far too common to be an actual trope.)
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!If it's common and there isn't some kind of trope, or group of tropes, about it, then that's a problem.
Hyperactivity is a character trait.
Fight smart, not fair.Well we have Boisterous Bruiser
Pops up here and there, especially in Shōjo and shows with BL overtones; if he is the star, he is usually paired off in some form with his polar opposite. This character is born out of an enduring and surprisingly strict design plan for characters in Boys' Love manga commonly called the uke. A more manly version is the Boisterous Bruiser, who is often a seme in Boys' Love.
Often subject to a cross-dressing escapade.
Not to be confused with Keef, despite how well he fits this trope.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!So... The Keet is supposed to be a male Genki Girl that serves as an Audience Surrogate for the ladies?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Yep, which means that the character is required to have a certain femininity to them.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHe has the same problem as Flapjack, Luffy, and Naruto. Not an Audience Surrogate for a female audience. Not an example. We really need to not fill the crowner with bad examples.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick^^ In addition, Link doesn't really act like a Genki Girl, or even feminine in general.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. And people are voting up the non-examples again, but when I try to point out that they aren't on the crowner my cons get edited out by someone who apparently doesn't care about the trope definition.
Genki Guy on the other hand just seems to redirect to Genki Girl, so you might want to work on splitting the trope you're looking for off from there.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHm. Apparently, the reason the troper in question gives for the removal, according to the edit history for the Luffy (1) image entry, is:
Who said that?
According to the edit history it was The Pope.
EDIT: The contributer, The Pope. Not the head of the catholic church.
Also, I rephrased the way the con was stated; the old version could be misinterpreted as saying that a Keet has to be female, which is completely wrong.

Reaction Image RepositoryThanks. Your rephrasing gets the point across better. I didn't bother to tag all the bottom ones. Anything past -5 doesn't tend to see that much activity.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHow long has this crowner been up, a week or so now? I'd say it's safe to call it done.
Five days, and it doesn't show any signs of changing. I think we can call it.
EDIT: Okay, I went to put the old image back up, and it seems the person who originally removed it was Fast Eddie. Should I put it back up anyway due to the consensus here, or leave it off? I'd rather not get banned for reverting his edit, even if we do have a consensus in this thread.

Reaction Image RepositoryI'm fine with leaving the current image, as long as we make a clear effort to make a new trope for the male equivalent of a Genki Girl. Genki Girl forwards to this as the Spear Counterpart, which it's not according to what you guys have been saying, so there needs to be a "Genki Guy" article.

Yes, please. Let's save this argument for another thread...
