New ORAS Round is out in Japan.

Saw this in the main Pokemon thread about the XY chapters.

"They actually [SPOILERS AHEAD!] wrapped up the XY plot, by the looks of things, around the time the protagonists reached Geosenge Town; that is, essentially the Ultimate Weapon plot was concluded when they reached its location (although there were other scenes featuring Korrina and her grandfather, for instance), but there's a lot more of Kalos left for... whatever the continuing plot would be. Lysandre is still active along with Team Flare, X & Y and their three friends have the Hero with Bad Publicity thing going thanks to Malva slandering them and the Gym Leaders, Y has Xerneas while TF have Yvetal, and their Starter Mons have evolved halfway IIRC; it seems that much of the plot, including whatever Versions X 2 Y 2/Version Z/Version Narf will bring in, is being saved for later."

A couple of things that I've noted from reading bios and should probably be put on the Wild Mass Guessing page:

• No character has actually gone on a Badge Quest yet. Given that Trevor seems to have gone off with the dexholders, I'm thinking one of the other two kids (if not both) would undertake direct training with the Gym Leaders in an attempt to avert Can't Catch Up.
• I just updated the Surprisingly Similar Characters page with an entry relevant to this series. Only two things are missing: Y to have a Disney Death and to Come Back Brainwashed and Crazy. The former could easily be done now that Xerneas is in her group, and probably should have been done at Geosenge Town. The latter seems a bit more farfetched, but, while canon in the compared series, it isn't necessary:
  Lysandre, you should've analyzed the DNA closer. There is only one Y Gabena!

Pokemon Special actually got me back into playing Pokemon casually. I like Red as a protagonist and Green Oak as a rival. Blue is also good but feel's like a third wheel which ironically appropriate considering she was scrapped content in the R/G/B/Y days.

Professor Oak is my favorite Pokemon Professor because of his battle with Blue.

Um...hi! I got linked here from the Pokemon General thread. Havent read these since I realized manga fox had a billion holes in their scanlations and wanted to start up again. But I cant seem to find anything for XY past volume 1. Can anyone point me to the translated volumes?

While they're at it, I'd like scanlations of the B2W2 arc as well.

The B2W2 arc is on indefinite hiatus until the authors aren't so busy making two other story arcs. You can't find scans of B2W2 past the first volume because they don't exist.

And English scans of XY seem to be nonexistent on the net past the first volume, and even Japanese scans are hard to find. It looks like you'll need to buy the actual books to read it in English.

ORAS has wrapped up... just 2 months before SM are released.

Well, well, well... Looks like the XY is finally over.

Would love a place to read these again, but jeez it's tough finding them.

I've been using this to read through them. They're mostly in order up until B2W2.

Well, lets see if they finish B 2 W 2 now, as everything else is done for, even with SM starting soon.

Time to revive this thread, BW 2 new chapter came out after 2 fucking years.

Was Sird's storyline ever resolved?

So I hear that Y's Greninja AKA Croaky has Battle Bond rather than the usual Torrent ability, according to this.

Curious. How would Battle Bond work here considering it causes Greninja to evolve into a specific type of Greninja? A Greninja so rare that it was named after the trainer that first unlocked it and bears resemble to.

Well for one thing Battle Bond only results in a specific Greninja in the games and that's mostly as a way of advertising the anime. In the anime itself where Ash-Greninja first showed up it's outright mentioned in the two-parter where it debuts that there have been Greninjas like Ash-Greninja previously but that they're rare. Ash's is really only named Ash-Greninja in the anime because it's a combination of Ash and Greninja.

Y's Greninja having a Battle Bond would most likely involve it looking more like Y than anything and would almost certainly have a different name.

As an anime watcher myself, I am intrigued by this turn-of-event. Of course, in my opinion, there shouldn't have been anything to stop Marisso from having Battle Bond himself.^note The fact that he's a Chesnaught doesn't count; the three starters should have been on equal footing. Nothing against Y,^note  whom I name Ms. Serenity Yvonne Highwind, it's just that X is The Chosen One of his crew which relegates Y to Worf... or perhaps Zero. Then again, in my opinion, "Ash-Greninja" should've been a Mega regardless. Battle Bond is probably a way to have gotten what would have been Mega-Greninja in since Pokemon Z was never made.

battle-bond specifically seems to turn it into ash-greninja. So I unno. Also I wonder if they are gonna do Volcanian in S/M manga. Cause it seems like they missed using him in gen 6's

Bulbagarden relatively recently combined the Anime and Manga sections. That seems like a bad decision. Now there aren't even manga threads.

I feel like this manga has gotten less popular in the last few years, at least with western fans. You hear less from fans than you did during Gen 4.

It's on Sun and Moon. They did XY and ORAS as well, but B 2 W 2 is still unfinished.

They're working on that tho.

I think the reason it it’s less popular is becasue the games themselves are picking up the slack story wise now.

The games have had decent stories since DP Pt. That's not an excuse, especially when the anime is hit-and-miss with stories yet people talk about it constantly.

More like the stories are more ingrained into the games.

DP Pt still had the Pokemon league as the main goal.

I'm pretty sure the games having slightly better plots isn't causing less interest in Special. It's probably just not that popular because it's harder to find where to read it for free (whereas finding subbed anime is easy), it was especially a huge mess during the BW arc, and there was no place to read the XY arc until recently. And its unpopularity feeds into itself, since there's not enough people to get a good conversation going in many places, there are less people who find out about it or feel a pull to read it to join in.
