There's stuff like the Celebi time travel event.
Well instead it has Giovanni deciding to return to leading Team Rocket, and encourages Silver to become strong and stop him. It also has Spiky Eared Pichu.
Well, I finally got up to date on Black and White, it's a shame the translation team lost a contributer so they're not going back to post up the missing chapters . What I think is interesting is to see the contrasts between the relationships of the protagonists and N compared to the game. N was in constant and friendly touch with the player and the lack of that compared to the growing friendship between Black and White really shows.
PokΓ©mon the Comic was released, featuring a special chapter that shows Red training Gold at Mt. Silver. Turns out they were teaching themselves Volt Tackle since then.
The magazine also gave all the other Dex Holders their own titles: Ruby the Charmer, Sapphire the Conqueror, Emerald the Pacifier, Diamond the (Empathizer?), Pearl the (Willer?), Platinum the (Scholar?), and Black and White the Dreamers.
I'll hit you with this thingI couldn't find any scans of the manga. All I found was this:
http://x-asamin.tumblr.com/post/52467162856 http://pokespeblog.tumblr.com/
I guess titles are clunky due to being forced, but I guess whatever.
Well, looks like Black2 is an officer while White2 is a former Plasma member.
I'll hit you with this thingHm... Charmer, Conqueror, and Pacifier. Putting them through Google Translator yields: 魅惑者 miwaku-sha, 征服者 seifuku-sha, and 調停者 chōtei-sha respectively. All have 3 Kanji too.
Incidentally, the names in Bulbapedia all have 4 Kanji and Sapphire's doesn't quite match: Hers is [The one] "who quest[s] for", whereas Ruby's is [The one] "who charm[s]" and Emerald's is [The one] "who quell[s]". Romaji are Kiwameru mono, Miseru mono, and Shizumeru mono respectively. Aside from the whole "ending a sentence with preposition"/sequence flow thing, it's probably a case of tomato/tomatermorts.
Unfortunately, of the 3 names you have for the Sinnoh trio, only Scholar has Kanji (and only 2, 学者 (Gakusha), though "Catcher" has 2 as well.)
Incidentally, I had my own names for the two trios. (I was on a Shinkenger kick back then...)
Character | Kanji | English | Romanji |
Ruby | 演奏者 | Performer | Ensō-sha |
Sapphire | 戦闘機 | Fighter | Sentō-ki |
Emerald | 戦略家 | Strategist | Senryaku-ka |
Diamond | 支援者 | Supporter | Shien-sha |
Pearl | 顧問 | Advisor | Komon |
Platinum | 継嗣 | Heir(ess) | Keishi |
Yes, Dia has one extra Kanji versus his teammates. He also gets an extra Legendary.
As for Red, I would have given him a promotion to "Commander" (司令官 Shirei-kan), seeing how his and Sapphire's quests were the same and Red was considered the (field) leader of the group at large, at least from what (little) I've read.
As for Black and White getting the same nickname... interesting. Makes me think that our two new heroes will be styled the "Defenders". (Since they're Unovan the English is enough for me.)
I don't think it will be so, but I kind of like Gray and Rose for the two new heroes.

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Is he just gonna name the X and Y protags X and Y?
Poor kids.
XY has officially started, and yes, Calem is X and Serena is Y.
X was once a promising, up-and-coming trainer but is now a depressed shut-in while Y is his childhood friend who is a Sky Trainer and is always trying to get him out of the house.
After years, she only succeeds because Team Flare burned his house down.
I'll hit you with this thingI can't help but laugh at that. I feel bad.
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"What were X and Y's parents thinking!?
And what did they do for Black 2/White 2?
The Protomen enhanced my life.I believe they named are named Lack-Two (Black2 hero, boy) and Whi-Two (White2 heroine, girl). So, slightly corrupted pronunciations of the game titles. Bulbapedia's got excellent articles on all the Dex Holders, if you're interested.
I enjoy Poke Special on the whole, but I wish it would go back and finish up some of the earlier chapters. I'm still waiting for a proper conclusion of the DP Pt arc (Platinum battling Palmer, the only Frontier Boss/NPC she hasn't fought, and a resolution to the Ship Tease surrounding the trio.) But they are only focusing on the Unova characters at the moment.
Ha. That's pretty interesting to me.
How do you all feel about the latest HG/SS chapter?
All the Sinnoh chapters have been completed and scanlated, while rough drafts of the HGSS chapter have also been released.
I'll hit you with this thing^I know all the Sinnoh chapters have been scanlated, I just meant that I wanted them to finish some of the plots so we weren't Left Hanging. I was looking forward to a Platinum vs Palmer match, which hasn't happened yet.
Unless I totally misunderstood your post, in which case I apologize.
Some of the new plots and characters do sound interesting, so I'm curious to see how those stories play out. Does anyone think there will another Dex Holder meet up, or do you think it would be better if later protagonists were kept separate from the older series since so much time has passed that having previous heroes show up again might seem like Fanservice at this point?
I wouldn't mind a throwback since I liked the previous Dex holders. But I know it's not very likely since the guy seems more focused on updating with the new games.
It's kind of tedious to wait for subbed scans to come out but that's the price.
With two of the Dexholders' game-counterparts having roles in the World Tournament, I wouldn't be surprised to see at least the Kanto team intervene against the Plasma Frigate. And I would also look for the Downloadable Tournaments to determine (in-part) which Gym Leaders would pair with which others on the Expeditionary Force. (Presumes that Team Plasma merits an Expeditionary Force. Which may be the true reason why Sabrina's in Unova... She'd also be on one of the "Downloadable" teams.)
EDIT: For my money, I would've had Blue and Emerald as part of The Cavalry in the HGSS Chapter (with Green as Mission Control)note , Ruby and Sapphire would at least have a Cameo appearance in Sinnoh (likely debarking at Canalave during the Platinum Chapter's Epiloguenote ), and Yellow Senseing the Disturbance in the "Force" that Nnote is creating in Unova and Red going there with her.
This was before it was revealed that HGSS, Platinum, and B1W1 were not Simultaneous.EDIT 2: Actually, with the above revelation, I would've like the 5 Friends to actually be the Spin-Offspring of the first 4 Generations of Dexholders.
And with regards to the new series: It has potential for 6 Starters with 5 Characters. The previous 2 Series combined have 3 Starters for 4 Characters. Could we see Faitsu not get a starter until she and Rakutsu go to Kalos so that she gets that missing starter?

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.
Think we need at least one more generation before we can have official spin-off babies who are actually old enough to go on their own journeys. The Kanto Dex Holders are likely in their mid-twenties by the B2W2] chapter, and the X and Y look around 13 or 14.
I'll hit you with this thingat least this time they have a partially villainous E4 member.no need to change things too much this time,eh?
Secret SignatureWhere the hell is everyone reading raws off of? I need info starting with Black VS Looker.
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"I just finished the D/P arc, where was when I last stopped reading but i'm glad I gave it another chance since I enjoyed it a lot more this time. Cyrus was badass. Starting the Platinum arc right now, seems like it'll be cool and hopefully better than Emerald's arc.
How come Darach is such a Large Ham? It's kind of funny but he's nothing like that in-game.

Platinum's gonna be pretty short. Dunno if this trio is what you're fond of.
I'm at inter-dimensional battle, which I assume is where it ends.
But screw these guys who use "Shirona" instead of Cynthia, ugh.
EDIT: nevermind I think that's just what her granny calls her sometimes.
EDIT 2: wow that was short, and 435 was missing for some reason...still a pretty epic conclusion, although yeah I can see where one says it felt a bit rushed. Regigigas was awesome.
Woohoo HG/SS arc and my favorite dex holder! Heh I see what they did there with Jet.

Honestly there wasn't much to do. I mean the FR/LG added the Sevii Islands, but this only added the 4 Generals no real new areas, so there wasn't as much for them to cover that they hadnt already did in GSC.
