One will eternally bother me from my childhood: Dragon Warrior 1. I can reach the final boss and defeat his first form. Second one proved unbeatable. And for those who don't know: the game has a single save point: the throne room where the game begins. So you have to hike across 2/3rds of the game world to reach the final duungeon and then cross the dungeon itself each attempt.
Super Mario World. Left off jsut before Bowser a while ago, but I haven't touched the game since. Also Super Mario 64, up until a week ago.
Final Fantasy V. I'm right at the final fight with Ex Death but due to some bad job choices I can't beat him without a lot of grinding.
FUCKING EGGMANLAND.
Dragon Quest IX: Stuck on the third general (the leopard guy)
That's all I can think of at the moment.
I still haven't fully finished Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz primarily due to 10-5, the very definition of cheap difficulty. Nice of the game developers to make an entire level full of bumpy surfaces in a game that requires so much precision.
Dragon Age: Origins - my current (and so far, longest) playthrough stalled right before the Landsmeet, and I haven't really felt any particular urge to go back and remedy that.
No More Heroes, due to my Wii quitting on me as I was getting cash to take on the #1 ranked assassin.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance, because I don't play the PS 2 as often as I should.

Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Diablo 2. I can't keep grinding through Hell after that jungle. I just can't. And this from a guy who doesn't mind Forced Level-Grinding.
"Silent Hill always gives the best presents." -agentjr "Death feels like acoustic guitar." -helloweenOdd, I didn't find Diablo2 to be that hard. Although I may have done a little Level Grinding and Save Scumming, I don't really remember too well.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThis happens more than I like. Right at the end of the second to last chapter of Disgaea, the start of the final dungeon of Star Ocean 4, and the Final Boss of The Legend Of Zelda The Spirit Tracks.
Yeah, I quit my games on a regular basis. For example, I quit Golden Sun just before the end (though that was more because I couldn't find the sequel), as with Paper Mario TTYD.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderSuper Mario Galaxy 2 - Perfect Run. Hatred.
Super Mario Sunshine - I like some collectathons, but for some reason I hate getting all those stupid blue coins.
This happens a bit too often for me, especially for games where I want to try to do all the sidequests before I complete it. This stopped me with ffvii up until a week ago, along with ffvii, ffix, and tales of eternia.
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadBy "finish" I mean get Grand Master rank.
By "almost" I mean WHY DID I TOP OUT 26 LEVELS BEFORE THE END GRRRRR *

http://twitter.com/raydere | http://raydere.tumblr.comThe sheer amount of Guide Dang It! involved in that game is why I haven't bothered to get all 120 shines.
- Starcraft II- When I try to log in the game just crashes *.
- Castlevania: Circle of the Moon- Final boss keeps killing the hell out of me.
- Donkey Kong 64 - I finished the actual game, I just can't get the last 4 Golden Bananas (it's actually 5, but the last one is a reward for getting the other 200).
Not hard, really. I never got past the easiest difficulty setting. ;_; It just wasn't fun for me at that point anymore. Couldn't say exactly why.
"Silent Hill always gives the best presents." -agentjr "Death feels like acoustic guitar." -helloweenFinal Fantasy III DS. Cloud of Darkness will oneshot everyone but the healer with her lightning attack, and has two more attacks per turn after that. Basically means I'm forced to grind for six hours until I can survive that attack and kill a tentacle.

Ah, FFIII. I only beat that one because I had borrowed it from a friend, and she'd left a save file where she'd beaten it (by sharking her team to max level and HP).
Well, I'm about halfway through Eternal Sonata, and my enthusiasm for the game has waned significantly. I'm also about midway through a replay of Mass Effect, which I need to finish before playing ME 2.
But somehow,◊- Bubble Bobble - Goodamned final boss!
- The Legendary Starfy - I've kinda made peace with the fact that I won't be beating the bonus boss or have the patience to grind for the bestiary anytime soon.
- Endless Ocean 2 - Same kinda deal with Starfy's bestiary... too much gridning to 100% it, though I'll probably come back to it one day.
Jet Force Gemini: After close to ten whole years, I'm still stuck on the final fight with Mizar. Cheap-ass bastard...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.
I just noticed a pattern in all the games I've played recently
Why can I finish anything? The only recent games I've actually beaten are Iji and Bioshock
