Did we ever actually see Taggart in the flesh? Apart from when Alex takes his form? I think all anyone really remembers of Taggart is Alex Chewing the Scenery and Saying His Name. TAGGART!
Taggart is the guy you chase around the city while he's in a tank. At the end of it, you eat him and that leads you to the final level.
We see Taggart on a video screen early on, I think.

For some reason I've got the idea that Mercer has some kind of Xanatos Gambit going on that Heller is a key figure in, and that if Heller does end up killing Mercer, it will be all part of the plan. I'm also almost certain that Alex will not the be the Big Bad, there will turn out to be another enemy that they must work together to fight, or at least not get in each other's way too much. Probably this will be Blackwatch or PARIAH, or both.
I think everybody guessed that, especially with comments by the devs on the matter.
Alex infected James to fight against Gentek if I remember right...
Mm, and I thought that one of them was supposed to be Pariah, cause that was never too clear to me.

Pretty much all of those looked like gameplay, with the half-exception of those special chopper kills and the juggernaut kill, being quick-time events or the sort. Special angles and slo-mo were used a lot, but this is an official video, so the devs are allowed to put the camera wherever they like.

Hehe, after seeing Prototype on Information Wants to Be Free, I thought "Maybe all Alex wanted to do was share his discovery with the world."
As for infecting Heller, maybe he wanted to be altruistic too and give him a way to get revenge against Blackwatch.
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten how tanks would, when you're just minding your own business in an infected zone, always just happen to come down the street you're on and just happen to shoot the zombie next to you.
I dealt with helicopters by using the whipfist to hijack them, then shoot down all the other helicopters with my newly acquired one. Of course, you look a bit of a knob if the whipfist misses, and you land on the ground and get shot up.
