Get my copy on Tuesday.
So I found this the other day.
As someone dealing with depression, this had a surprisingly heavy impact on me.
but HOW?I can't be the only one who thinks that if a new Evangelion Liscensed game was made, Cyber Connect 2 should make it. Not only do they have a big history together (Yoshiyuki Sadamoto is the main character designer of Dot Hack as well as Evangelion) they even did that thing I linked a few months back where they competed on who can make the best animated version of the scenario they did.
Considering this is the developer that manages to make Naruto itself good, it could make a series that is "good" like Evangelion and make it better.

Watch SymphogearFinally saw 3.33, felt that Misato was holding the Idiot Ball through most of it.
Gee, MAYBE explaining to Shinji what actually HAPPENED might be a good idea? Instead of slapping a explosive around his neck and acting like a total dick?

Eh. Is this... a interpretation of what went on, or are Funi's subs THAT fucked up? Because you don't seem to see anyone explaining shit to Shinji.
Other than Kaworu later I mean.

Right, so, now that I've seen 3.33 properly... There isn't really much to say. But also a lot to say. As we all know, very little actually happens. Everything is pretty, perhaps even prettier than ever before. Especially AT Fields. It was really nice being able to actually see what's going on in the space scenes this time. The dub is good, I like everybody's performance, the only real issues I have with it are Kaworu mispronouncing his own name and Asuka only and somewhat constantly referring to Mari as "4-eyed crony." It was cute the first time, but got old fast; a little diversity, even just "4-eyes" would have been nice.
So, character time, less important people first:
Bridge Bunnies - Not a fan of the newbies' designs, not really anything else to say about them. As for the old crew, Hyuuga seems to be the same, just older; Aoba turned into Dunban, but like Hyuuga doesn't seem to have changed much, if at all; Maya, on the other hand, has turned into an Army Sergeant with a short fuse. Visually, she looks older without having aged, if that makes sense. And she looks good in her new uniform, but, like I said, really intimidating.
Ritsuko - First/only thing to notice is her haircut. I wasn't a fan the first time I saw the film, but it's grown on me. That's funny because she cut it really short. Character wise, she's pretty much the same scientist, just more aloof than she was previously. At least, in regards to Shinji. She does very clearly attempt to explain everything that's going on to him, in a very clinical, matter-of-fact way. Her explanation of the DSS choker (punishment and insurance policy) can only be called "cold." Unfortunately, we don't get to see her off duty like in the first two films; but what stood out the most about her (and in contrast to her behavior around Shinji), was that she seemed to almost be consoling Misato at the end after the prevention of the Fourth Impact.
Mari - Mari is Mari. Although her speech to Shinji when she stops the Fourth Impact was... Frustrated. Not angry or hating, just frustrated with him, perhaps disappointed. But other than that, yeah. Mari is Mari.
I'll have the rest written up later.

Seriously, Mairi is a parody of the Mary Sue type characters and brings a manic energy that was missing from the Wangst the trio had.
3.33 reminds me of Season 2 of Babylon Five or the Dominion War Arc on Deep Space Nine: Nothing Is the Same Anymore.
A lot of American fans are kinda missing the point of Eva, it's not a happy ending, "Shinji" saves the world and gets the girl kind of anime (tell your friends to go see Pacific Rim for a more "American-ish Eva"). It's funny that the ends has several characters together.
3.33 left me feeling....I'll let Barenaked Ladies explain it:

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Anno wasn't kidding when he said we would get an alternative ending.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.Eva and End of Eva were bits of "screw you otaku"...Rebuild is different.
Unlike another creator (CoughGeorgeLucasCough)...Anno didn't alter or change Eva...and he didn't stick in things just to say "look at my new toys!"
Nope...it's different and interesting...
And I'll admit I have a girlcrush on Mairi and Asuka...

Got my own copy of 3.33 on DVD, courtesy of Madman Entertainment because I'm part of their press group and I asked for a DVD of the film because I'm making reviews of the Evangelion series, EOE and the three Rebuilds this month.
Here's a full imgur album of it

...they still sell movies on DV Ds these days? I was under the impression that BD is the way to go nowadays.
Meh, I asked for a DVD cause I'm cheap at heart and as I said in the video, I have a TV with an inbuilt DVD player in my bedroom. If I had a Blu-Ray player in my room as well then sure I would definitely buy more Blu-Rays. (There's only one anime I even have on Blu-Ray and it's AKIRA's 25th Anniversary Edition DVD/BD Combo Pack)
Besides that, not all the anime here in Aus (or the US/UK) gets released on Blu-Ray, usually because of reverse importation fears that Japan wont let go of and because some companies feel that a certain show/film wont sell well enough to justify the costs of making a Blu-Ray version.

So? In my country, no anime gets released AT ALL. Not on DVD, not on BD, not online. Nothing.
I know.
It's why I've been so irritated about some people here refusing to watch 3.0 undubbed. They should be happy they can watch it at all instead of being picky about how to watch it.
Add in a bit of Negi and you are good to go.
Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, we should find the absolutes that tie us.Mari is more like Ryouma Nagare had a child with Cutey Honey.
Watch SymphogearWait, maybe she's the granddaughter/descendant of all those characters!
... Why Cutey Honey, though? I don't see anything of her in Mari.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.
I hope it isn't as negative as some of the comments on 3,33. On the other hand, it's the internet and GIFTs abound here.
