YMMV / VS Shaggy

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The mod boasts some pretty good remixes/covers of old Scooby-Doo songs and also its own original bops.
    • "Where are you" is the mod's catchy rendition of the theme to Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!
    • Going along catchy covers is "What's New?" from What's New, Scooby-Doo?, the Copyright-Free version isn't too bad either.
    • "GOD EATER" is a one hell of a way to show off how good Shaggy using 0.002% can really sing. It even seamlessly samples a couple of lines from Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur, which started the Ultra Instinct Shaggy meme in the first place.
    • This is taken up to eleven after a mod adding RetroSpecter's remix of the song was made, having over 1200 notes to its chart, including the Ultra Instinct theme from Dragon Ball Super playing when Shaggy taps into the form, incorporating even more memetic lines from Shaggy and lasting for over 6 minutes.
    • Thunderstorm has been praised as one of the best songs of the 2.5 update, and not without reason. It's catchy, intense, and has the aura of an epic final showdown - impressive for the second song of the week.
    • Talladega , The Secret song of Week 6, is definitely fitting for the final battle against Zephyrus. It's extremely note dense and epic, and while fast, have a consistent melody that both brings stress and epicness to the song. It has the aura of the definitive final battle, but unlike Thunderstorm above, It sounds absolutely stressing and terrifying in combination with shaggy's monstuous form.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Some people joked about Shaggy's Kai-o-ken song having six arrows not being all that impressive, because a few other mods have done it before, while Shaggy had to use 0.001% of his power to get there. Then Week 2 rolled around and gave us "GOD-EATER" which had a whopping NINE ARROWS, and was only using 0.002% during the song.
    • Additionally, the mod in general can evoke this due to being out some months before the meme this was based on became an Ascended Meme in the Logo Joke of Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms by Warner Bros. This was ultimately acknowledged with the third Shaggy, also known as W.B. Shaggy, who is based on said Logo Joke and is referred to as the most recent, weakest Shaggy.
    • The mentions of a tournament that Shaggy wanted to witness predated the announcement of MultiVersus, which not only has Shaggy as a playable character, but leans into the Ultra Instinct Shaggy meme as well.
  • Memetic Badass: The mod's whole gimmick is leaning into Shaggy's memetic badassery, and once sufficiently provoked, he shows just how powerful he can be.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • "TREE" Explanation
      • "TRAIN" Explanation
      • "DREIDEL" Explanation
  • Nightmare Fuel: The 2.5 update introduces Zephyrus, an Eldritch Abomination in the form of half of a mask that tricks Boyfriend into reforming his body and allowing him to possess WB Shaggy to take a horrifying Humanoid Abomination form. The fact that he takes many cues from Spamton doesn't help matters.
