  • Angst Aversion: While not without its lighter moments, much of the fic consists of the majority of the surviving Archie characters suffering an immense Trauma Conga Line, as they are repeatedly beaten down by the reminder that all their struggles were All for Nothing and almost everything and everyone they loved is effectively gone. This can make the story difficult to get through for some, even if the other half is about how the Archie characters come to terms with their circumstances.
  • Crack Pairing:
    • Readers have shipped Elias with Tangle and Surge (yes, that Surge), usually under the grounds that either one of them is who his wife Megan got rebooted to. Even though A) Tangle messed with PDA and hasn't received any memories and B) many of the mobians/overlanders that have been rebooted were (technically) the same species they were before the Super Genesis Wave.
    • Conquering Storm and Clove is also a very popular ship among readers, despite the two never interacting on page as of Chapter 30.
  • Epileptic Trees: Due to Sonic Superstars (or more specifically the inclusion of Trip the Sungazer and her super-mode) some theories believe that when the universe rebooted, many of the dragon characters changed into Sungazers (or at the least, various members of the Smaug Genus). Some even further speculate that this was the case even in the old world, pointing out that like all other mobians, the Dragons were a by-product of mutation by the Xorda's Gene Bombs and yet NO explanation on what genus of animal it was that gave rise to at least 3 different species.
  • Fan Nickname: The IDW versions of the Egg Bosses that are still attempting to assist Eggman are affectionately called the "Eggsimps" by the SpaceBattles.com forum users.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Chapter 5, which was posted at December 2022, has Hershey simultaneously praise and criticize how trusting Jewel and the Restoration is, with her demonstrating that spies with less-than-benign intentions would have an easy time infiltrating the organization. Come mid-2023, Mimic would indeed effortlessly infiltrate the Restoration under Clutch's orders with plans of espionage.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • When Silver finds out from Vanilla that Blaze is on vacation in Studiopolis in Chapter 5, his first thought was wondering if she even has vacations to begin with, as she usually shows up to help fight villains if not back home managing her empire. About half a year after this chapter was posted, it would be revealed that she indeed does have vacations on Earth. A later chapter that is also posted before the official reveal would also state that the purpose of the vacation aside from having fun is to learn about Earth as a whole, which is very similar to the canon reason.
    • This fic features the Hooligans, led by Fang the Sniper, as minor antagonists who've since become has-beens since Sonic's younger days. This becomes hilarious with the announcement of Sonic Superstars, a new Classic Era game that features our favorite bounty hunter with a new partner, Trip. Also thanks to Superstars, Fang constantly changing aliases has become Ascended Fanon.
    • Speaking of Fang, considering whats occuring in 'Sonic the Hedgehog: Fang the Hunter', he was technically right about there more than seven Chaos Emeralds if one count Mammoth Mogul and Naugus's emeralds.
  • Ron the Death Eater: A downplayed example but there are forum entries by fans which aren't as sympathetic to the echidna populace due to certain actions in the Archie comics. Even though a) Most of that can be boiled down to the Brotherhood of Guardians (who were echidna supremacists who refused to see how much of a threat Robotnik/Eggman till it was too late), not the populace. and b) there was QUITE a few echidna that were working FOR the sake of others who weren't named Knuckles and Julie-Sue (Athair, Aurora, pre-corrupted Finitevus, etc) point is there projecting the (well-deserved) hatred of the B.O.G. to the whole.
  • Unexpected Character:
    • No one was expecting to see Phage make an appearance when Nicole hacked Metal Sonic systems. Or, for that matter, that he'd used a copy of Iron Nicole programming created by Snively and Regina Ferrum AKA the Iron Queen.
    • Chapter 19 introduces Cortez the Badger, a character from the unpublished Issue 95 of Sonic Universe, as a member of the Egg Bosses.
