Tear Jerker / Rediscovered Frontiers

• The entire fic’s premise is a tearjerker. The entirety of Mobius was wiped away by the Super Genesis Wave and became Earth. Those that had survived it one way or the other need to come to terms with the fact that technically they do no exist. That their loved ones may not exist any longer and billions of other people were either wiped from existence or rebooted into different people. Sally, Nicole, and the others all feel like the suffering and hardship they went through was all for nothing because of this, and some are unable to cope with this idea well.
• The first chapter shows how, despite making up with Mina, Nicole is still deeply hurt when people do not trust her. When Whisper begins to become suspicious of her, Nicole becomes distraught and huddles into a corner until Tangle is able to cheer her up.
• In the second chapter, Mecha Sally shows her greatest strength against the Freedom Fighters: using Sally’s memories so that she can hurt them psychologically. She makes sure to twist the knife in Nicole’s heart by saying that she wouldn’t be who she is now without the Holo-Lynx.
