Hipster Hitler
is a Webcomic about Exactly What It Says on the Tin: the 20th century's most-hated dictator reimagined as a member of the 21st century's most-hated subculture.
This Webcomic contains examples of:
- Butt-Monkey: Rommel getting sabotaged by Hitler's douchiness and the rest of his advisers.
- Granola Girl: Moar like Granola fascist, amirite?
- Groin Attack: Remember rumors of Hitler only having one testicle? Well, so did every other World War I soldier. "REMOVE THE OTHER ONE."
- Godwin's Law: A new variation "as the number of webcomics based on ironic misappropriations of culture increases, the probability that one of them will be about Hitler approaches one." Referenced by Hitler himself in this comic.
- Historical In-Joke:
- The punchline of the "Uniforms" comic. Here, have a ruined joke: Hugo Boss already made Nazi uniforms, so he's buying what he has already. Not just that, but Hugo Boss made SA uniforms, SA being the purged branch during the Night of the Long Knives. He's repeating history.
- Hitler's testicles... er, testicle... uh... penis.
- The 20 July plot, which is averted because Hitler thinks the bomber is bourgeois.
- Ignored Aesop: Whenever Hitler's advisers attempt to teach Hitler a lesson (or vice versa), Hitler manages to horribly mangle it into something else completely.
- Incredibly Lame Pun: Pretty much all of Hitler's shirts feature some Nazi-related pun, including "Three Reichs and You're Out", "Heilvetica", and "Blitz or GTFO".
- "OPERATION BRO-BAROSSA"
- This is because it turns out that Hipster Hitler's arch-nemesis is... BROSEPH STALIN!!

- And now he's using "reverse reichology" to get people to buy his shirts...
- Merchandise-Driven: With only two strips up, the creators were running a poll as to which t-shirts based on the strip readers would most like to buy. By strip three, an on-line store was up with a dozen different t-shirts for sale. The entire strip seems to be little more than a cynical ploy to create a link-bait property as a vehicle to sell things to exactly the kind of people the strip parodies (not talking about Nazis here). However, we can all forgiven this because the strip really is just that funny. They even lampshaded it in "Advertisement."
- Moral Myopia: Played straight. Hitler sees himself and his people as fascists, but as the good guys. This make more sense if you know what the term originally meant.
- Self-Deprecation: The picture of the creators of the comic on the about page depicts a trio of alcoholic mice.

- Straw Vegetarian: Parodied. Hitler refuses to buy dog food for Blondi because he can't find a brand that wasn't tested on animals.
- Stylistic Suck: Deliberately meant to evoke something a minimalist hipster would draw.
- Take That!:
- In regards to Kim Jong-il - "The fuck? Begone, troll doll."
- Robert Mugabe boasting that he's ten times better than Hitler, AND can rap.
- Worth It: "You mean in the very end I'll be remembered as being underground? This is PERFECT! Totally worth it."
