Undertale: the Narrator's Musical is a music adaption of Undertale created by Echo Flower Productions, taking inspiration by Man on the Internet's version of "Undertale the Musical". With 48 songs planned for the musical filled with a diverse cast, it so far follows the Pacifist Route of the game.

This Fan Work contains examples of:

  • A Boy and His X: Or a girl and her snarky ghost companion.
  • Adapted Out: Dummy, sort of. They still exist, but Frisk and Chara never meet them.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Frisk and Chara were able to distract the Guard Dogs with a stick, just like in the main game.
Guard Dogs: "Hey, is that a stick? It can't be a trick!"
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Before Papyrus starts his song Bonetrousle, he double checks the musical's song list with Sans.
Papyrus: "This is where my solo song starts, isn't it?"
Sans: "Let me check... Yup, that's what the script says. After the dog... Human Solo..."
Papyrus: "What the human got wasn't a true solo! It was more like... half a duet, with the other person missing."
  • Color Motif: The clothing and aura of Pacifist Anomaly and Genocide Anomaly are blue and red respectively.
  • The Corrupter: Genocide Anomaly helped turn Flowey down a murderous path, and seeks to do the same with Frisk and Chara.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Well, maybe she's not always all that deadpan, but Chara definitely qualifies regardless.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Chara is initially cold and dismissive towards Frisk, but by "Waterfall", she's warmed up to her significantly.
  • Evil Redhead: Genocide Anomaly has red hair and wants to slaughter the entire world.
  • Good Angel, Bad Angel: Pacifist Anomaly and Genocide Anomaly fill these respective roles, with Pacifist telling Frisk and Chara to avoid killing monsters and Genocide telling them to just kill everyone they come across.
  • "I Am Great!" Song: Papyrus gets one called "Papyrus", which is a parody of "You're Welcome".
  • Invisible to Normals: Almost everyone (humans and monsters) cannot see Chara because she falls under as a limbo spirit. The only people who seem to be able to see her include Frisk (whom she is somewhat possessing, for a lack of a better term) and non-fully corporeal ghosts like Napstablook and Mad Dummy.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Let's just say Chara, Papyrus, and Genocide Anomaly hate puns for a reason...
  • Mood Whiplash: "Waterfall" is, for the most part, a haunting but heartwarming song, culminating in Chara implying that Frisk reminds them of Asriel... but it suddenly turns ominous as Flowey chimes in.
  • The Musical: Seriously, it's in the title!
  • Narrator: Chara acts as this for the musical.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Genocide Anomaly isn't exactly shy about her desires to see the world's entire population destroyed.
  • Original Character: Pacifist Anomaly and Genocide Anomaly.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: Echo Flower Productions has a category list for the ghosts in the Underground.
    • Level 1: Limbo Spirits (for lack of a better term). They can interact with Level 2 and 3 entities, but Level 4 entities are completely cut off from being interacted with (or at least Level 4s have no indication they're there), unless an incident of strong determination and soul type has them become attached to a Level 4 entity. Chara herself is the prime example, so she's essentially the baseline. Level 1 entities can potentially go up several levels, but it all depends on circumstances, especially if they attach, physically or emotionally, to someone or something on a higher LOC (Level of Corporeality)
    • Level 2: Full Ghosts like Napstablook, and Mettaton before becoming Mettaton. They have no corporeal body and can't be killed. They can interact with beings on any of the other levels, so really they have the most freedom along with Level 3 entities
    • Level 3: Semi-Corporeal Entities, and were once Level 2 but now have a corporeal form to live in. Mad Dummy, Ruins Dummy, and Tsundereplane are examples of this, and Mettaton likely was this after first acquiring his robotic body. They essentially haunt their corporeal forms they inhabit, and they also can interact with those on all corporeal levels. The closer one gets to Level 4, the less likely they'll be able to interact with any Level 1 entities. Tsundereplane seems to be the closest to this, as they can hear Chara when she talks but when killed, they crash into metal rather than turning to dust as a monster at LOC 4 would. A being like Mad Dummy's cousin that gets spooked out of their Dummy becomes LOC 2 again.
    • Level 4: Fully Corporeal Entities. Most of the cast of Undertale is this to begin with, Mad Dummy becomes this when he turns into Glad Dummy, and Mettaton became this when his primary focus was on stardom. At this point, they lose their ability to interact with Level 1 spirits, unless one attaches to them, and the only known instance of that is Chara latching onto Frisk due to determination and sharing a soul trait.
  • Our Gods Are Different: The Pacifist Anomaly and Genocide Anomaly represent the players of the Undertale game, making them basically gods of that world. The only people more powerful than them are the Annoying Dog (Toby Fox), The Creator of Undertale, and Echo Flower Productions, The Creator of this musical fan adaption.
  • Pungeon Master: Sans. Toriel. FRISK. EVEN THE PACIFIST ANOMALY!
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Genocide Anomaly has red eyes and is very evil.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Chara and Frisk respectively. The same goes with Genocide Anomaly and Pacifist Anomaly respectively.
  • Red Is Violent: Genocide Anomaly is heavily associated with the color red.
  • Satanic Archetype: Genocide Anomaly is a mysterious supernatural Humanoid Abomination figure heavily associated with the color red. She is also a Greater-Scope Villain who plays the role of The Corrupter towards the other characters, influencing them towards her evil ideology, she is also an Omnicidal Maniac heavily associated with darkness and red light who lives in the Void, similar to stories in the Bible about demons living in the Outer Darkness.
  • Shout-Out: Papyrus is shown to have toys of Link, Sailor Jupiter and L.
  • Sweat Drop: Frisk has a couple during "Papyrus".
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Initially, Chara only helps Frisk begrudgingly, due to the two of them being effectively stuck together. But she warms up to her eventually.
  • Villain Song: So far, Genocide Anomaly's had two: "Be Prepared" and her lines in "Megalovania".
