Housemates is a completed Original Character Tournament created by YukoHanna and hosted on DeviantArt. The tournament is set in a haunted house being promoted by a new reality TV series called 'Housemates.'

There were two full seasons of the tournament, and the official statement from the judges is that there will not be a third. The first went to RedFishing's character Scarecrow, and the second was won by SunBunko's Eric and Holly.

This OCT contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Cooking Duel: Although there are plenty of physical skirmishes, fighting for the sake of fighting is generally not a deciding factor or driving force in the matches, and it takes a backseat to other types of interactions between characters.
  • Meaningful Name: A couple of instances.
    • Pansy the Faun. (A pansy is a type of flower, and also a derogatory term for a wimp. His preferred nickname, Pan, is also the name of a Greek god.)
    • Roots, fittingly, controls plants.
    • Scarecrow. His presence scares away animals. We find out a bit more about why later, as it turns out that Scarecrow has a supernatural disease that makes him dangerous and gives him an evil aura, and animals apparently notice it.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: B.O.T, Scarecrow, the Chapel twins, and anyone Tessa possesses. Justified for the last three examples, as Scarecrow and the twins are inflicted with the same supernatural disease, which happens to turn the eyes of anyone infected red, and when Tessa possesses someone their eyes color changing to match her own is part of the conditions for her power.
  • Ridiculously Human Robots: Rob is very sensitive for an artificial being.
  • Silent Bob: Scarecrow. He doesn't even say a lot in his own mind.
  • Tagline: Once You're In, You Can't Get Out.
  • Victim of the Week: During the first season, a lot of characters end up as Tessa's host body at one point or another.
