Web Animation / 5 AM at Freddy's

Go To

A series of short web videos created by Mike "Piemations" Pitts — chronicling the adventures of several unlucky night guards and the murderous (but thankfully not all that smart) animatronics they have to deal with. The series consists of the following:

5 AM at Freddy's: Mike Schmidt is confronted by all the animatronics at once. Fortunately, it's 5:57, so all he has to do is wait out the clock until 6 AM. Unfortunately, he also doesn't have much power left.

5 AM at Freddy's: the Prequel:note  Withered Foxy attempts to convince his fellow animatronics that what they think is Withered Freddy is, in fact, Jeremy in a Freddy mask. He does not have much luck.

5 AM at Freddy's: the Sequel: Springtrap is going to messily murder the Fright Guard… just as soon as he finds out where that child he keeps hearing is.

5 AM at Freddy's: The Final Whore Views: The Child deals with his nightmares… who are more interested in learning what the wi-fi password is, playing pranks, and forming a band than they are in killing him.

5 AM at Freddy's: Superstar Edition: Gregory tries to escape the Mega Pizzaplex with help from Freddy, using his stomach hatch to hide... though Roxy and the others aren't as oblivious to what's going on as Freddy would hope.

5 AM at Freddy's provides examples of:

  • Blatant Lies:
    • Jeremy says that he's Freddy, even though he's only wearing a Freddy head. Everyone except Withered Foxy is fooled, even Freddy.
    • The Fright Guard says there's a child somewhere in the building when it's just him pressing a button to play audio of a kid. Springtrap does start to catch on, but prioritises confirming the absence of a child over dealing with the Fright Guard.
    • In Superstar Edition, Glamrock Freddy denies having a kid in his stomach hatch when Roxy confronts him about it, even though she saw him shove Gregory inside himself.
      Roxy: Who was that?
      Freddy: Who?
Roxy: The kid you just stuffed in your stomach hatch? I SAW him!
Freddy: Weird. I did not see anything.
  • Call-Back: In Superstar Edition, Roxy's reaction to getting hit with the Fazer Blaster in the eye is pretty similar to Foxy's reaction in the Prequel when the Night Guard directs his flashlight at him.
    Foxy/Roxy: "GRAHH! FUCKIN'—"
  • Comically Missing the Point: In the prequel, Foxy wants to know where Freddy is as a means of proving that the night guard isn't Freddy, reasoning that "there can't be two Freddys." Since they're in the location of the second game, there actually are two Freddys; the Toy version is never brought up in the video, though.
  • Creepy Child: Balloon Boy wants to get his hands on Jeremy's sweet, succulent, double A batteries.
  • Cutting the Knot: Foxy eventually just takes Jeremy's mask off to circumvent the issues with the other animatronics thinking the night guard is Freddy. It still doesn't work, because the clock hits 6 AM before he manages to get to Jeremy.
  • Don't Celebrate Just Yet: In the first video, Mike celebrates reaching 6 AM by wandering through the restaurant for a bit and messing with the animatronics. He then walks by a wall clock and realizes his watch is five minutes fast, meaning Freddy and company still have four minutes to kill him.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Unlike the other Night Guards, Mike in the first 5 AM at Freddy's does not interact with the animatronics. It also only parodies one aspect of the game (waiting until 6 am), while the others are more expansive in what they mock.
  • Enraged by Idiocy: Foxy to Toy Bonnie when the latter refuses to believe that the night guard is wearing a Freddy mask, even after the real Freddy shows up.
Foxy: Well... now we've got two Freddys in the room!
    Bonnie: (Beat) Cool!
Foxy: Bonnie, oh my God. I will slap you!
  • Exact Words: In Superstar Edition, Glamrock Freddy attempts to deny he has a kid in his stomach hatch by averting his eyes when shoving Gregory into his innards and saying "I did not see anything" when Roxy asks him about it.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: The incredibly short credits sequence of the Prequel mentions ZACHxFULLER voicing Phone Guy for two seconds, despite not being present in the short. Cue The Stinger.
  • Furry Reminder: Deconstructed, but Played for Laughs. In Superstar Edition, Glamrock Freddy destroys Moon by biting him in the neck and tearing him apart for attempting to attack Gregory inside the daycare. Unfortunately, this happens in front of Gregory's eyes, and once all is said and done, Gregory is visually traumatized by the sight even after Glamrock Freddy reverts to his cheerful self.
  • Implausible Deniability: After shaving the back of the Child's head, the Freddle responsible hands the shaver to another Freddle and blames him.
  • Incoming Ham: Foxy in the Prequel.
Foxy: NIGHT GUARD! I'm gonna kick your ass!
  • Innocent Innuendo: In "Superstar Edition", Glamrock Freddy cheerfully tells Gregory that the latter needs to get in his hole... that is, his stomach hatch. Roxy overhears him say this and lets out a "Huh?" in response.
  • Instant-Win Condition: The clock reaching 6 AM will stop the animatronics in their tracks and save the guard from their antics. While Jeremy and the Fright Guard get bailed out by the clock, Mike isn't because his watch is ahead of the restaurant clocks that the animatronics follow.
  • It Amused Me: Phantom Foxy's reason for giving the Fright Guard a crowbar? "I don't know, I'm bored."
  • No, You: When Glamrock Freddy shoots a Fazer Blaster directly into Roxy's eye, Roxy exclaims, "You're a dick!" prompting Glamrock Freddy to angrily roar in response, "YOU'RE A DICK!" In a twist, this shocks the other animatronics, most likely because the normally affable Freddy loses his temper with one of his bandmates.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: The Phantom and Nightmare Animatronics are actually fairly benign.
  • Not-So-Fake Prop Weapon:
    • Inverted in the Prequel when Foxy pulls out a flintlock pistol and points it at Jeremy to threaten him into taking the Freddy mask off. Bonnie points out that it's actually a prop.
    • Downplayed with the Fazer Blaster when Glamrock Freddy threatens to use it against the other Glamrocks if they get near Gregory. After Roxy points out that it's just a toy, she's temporarily blinded by the laser for her troubles.
  • Only Sane Man:
    • Poor Foxy is the only one in the restaurant who can see that "Freddy" is Jeremy in a mask.
    • In Superstar Edition, Roxy is the only animatronic who's properly focused on taking out Gregory and has to put up with Freddy's Blatant Lies about the kid. While she does have the other two Glamrock animatronics as backup, Monty is mainly focused on spouting catchphrases and advertising his golf course, while Chica's more interested in eating pizza and garbage.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Jeremy's Freddy head disguise. It still fools everyone but Foxy, even when they know that Jeremy wears a Freddy mask and Foxy outright tells them what's going on.
  • Punch-Clock Villain:
    • The animatronics in the Prequel are just trying to make the Night Guard follow costume regulations.
    • The animatronics in Superstar Edition are just trying to get Gregory out of the Pizzaplex, though this is not well-communicated at first.
  • Running Gag: In Superstar Edition, Glamrock Freddy keeps referring to his stomach hatch as his "hole"; Roxy eventually complains about his choice of phrasing and asks him to stop calling it that.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Freddy responds to Foxy poking his nose and yelling at him about thinking the night guard is Freddy by leaving the security office.
    Foxy: Where are you going?
Freddy: [musically] Fuck this shit, I'm out.
  • The Stinger: Right after the second short's credits sequence, we're treated to Golden Freddy answering Phone Guy's call... in his usual manner.note
  • Stress Vomit: Presumably the reason for Jeremy's Vomit Indiscretion Shot at the end of the Prequel, who just barely survived being killed by Foxy as the clock hits 6 AM.
  • Super Gullible:
    • All the animatronics save Foxy in the Prequel fall for Jeremy's Freddy costume, despite it being only a head. Even Freddy is convinced that Jeremy is Freddy.
      Foxy: He's the night guard!
Freddy: Hmmm... pretty sure that's Freddy...
Foxy: Oh, God dammit. You're Freddy!
    • Springtrap and Phantom Freddy in Sequel fall for the recording of the child, although Springtrap does start wondering if the child actually exists or not.
  • Tempting Fate: Glamrock Feddy tells Gregory it's a good thing that the Pizzaplex's main entrance is still open, as it's around the time that it closes. Naturally, the doors close mid-sentence.
Glamrock Freddy: You're in luck! The main entrance is still open. Which is fortunate, because it's about the time they would - [doors slam shut] Balls.
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: Courtesy of the Fright Guard:
    Fright Guard: GET CROWBARRED, BITCH!
  • Token Evil Teammate: Springtrap is the only animatronic in the Sequel that actually wants to hurt the Fright Guard. Phantom Freddy's just a Cloud Cuckoo Lander and Phantom Foxy hands the Fright Guard a crowbar to fight back with because he was bored.
  • Toilet Humor: Superstar Edition reveals that you need a Pee Pass or a Poo Pass to go to the bathroom. When Gregory asks for both, Glamrock Freddy tells him that the Pee Pee Poo Poo Pass is discontinued due to the "Poop of '07."
  • Waxing Lyrical: In Sequel, Springtrap asks where the security guard is. The guard responds "You ain't touchin' my buns... hun."
  • Weakened by the Light:
    • Foxy, in the Prequel. It temporarily sets his eyeballs on fire.
    • Nightmare Foxy also hates the light from the Child's flashlight.
  • You Keep Using That Word: Glamrock Freddy consistently refers to his stomach hatch as a "hole" in Superstar Edition, resulting in weird phrases when he tells Gregory to get inside it. Roxy becomes fed up with this habit near the end.
Roxy: STOP CALLING IT YOUR "HOLE!"
