Battle of Objects (BOO) is an Object Show made by D. Casey Animations. The first episode was uploaded to YouTube on July 1, 2013. The show is currently running its fourth and fifth seasons simultaneously, with episodes of each season (BOOST and BRO) overlapping. Each of the three previous seasons are incomplete, each ending early as a Soft Reboot to the plot.

Like most object shows, a game show host, Win Token, rallies up the inhabitants of a small area to compete for a prize.

Season 4, ironically titled Battle Of Objects Season Three, introduces a second rival host, Arcade Machine who hosts Season 5, Battle Royale Objects, while Win Token hosts Season 4 simultaneously. Arcade Machine, Win Token's former mentor and boss, takes half of the show away, along with the budget, creating a contrast between the two shows. Arcade Machine and Win Token become rivals, the former being a clear example of a privileged rival.

This show contains the following tropes:

  • Accidental Misnaming: In Season 1, "The Big Balls" get their team name by Button making an accidental innuendo, commenting on Basketball's size and shape. In the same episode, "Something Else" is named when Left Lens wants to copy another team's name, and is told by Right Lens that they have to be called "something else". This is referenced in Season 5, when the Glasses twins nearly repeat the same mistake, but with Ringy jumping in to name the team "Wait, No!" instead. "H.O.T. Green" is accidentally named by the team members comparing their previous team names, and "GLITCH" is named when iPhone begins to recommend a team name and is cut off by glitching, making their team name unpronounceable, except by iPhone and Arcade Machine, the two electronic objects. In Season 4, "The Fruity Bunch Again" is named when Lemon wants to reuse the name "The Fruity Bunch", which is then unintentionally shortened to "The Again" when Blueberry requests to not have "Fruity Bunch" in the name. Button also accidentally misnames her team again when describing the members as "loyal and more empathetic", the team name becoming "L.A.M.E."
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Most characters are named exactly what they are, as is typical in an object show.
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": Boney, Boxy, Bready, Discy, Muggy, and Ringy are all named based on the objects that they are, with -y suffixed to their names.
  • All Just a Dream: Battle Of Objects Two ends in a Dream Within a Dream sequence in which the Author Avatar explores a Dream World Alternate Universe of the show before hitting the Reset Button to undo the horribly spiraling plot. He wakes up at the end of the first season, which leads directly into the third season, which is a Soft Reboot of the second. Battle Of Objects Two is referenced in future seasons but is discarded as merely a dream.
  • Alternate Universe: The finale of Season 2 explores an alternate universe in which the events of the show never happened.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: All of the characters in the show, aside from the self-insert character, are animate inanimate objects.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: Many of the characters are food items. The teams "The Fruity Bunch" and "The Again" were even created entirely with food-based objects.
  • Armless Biped: Several objects are armless, only having legs. Bouncy Ball is a variant of this trope, having no limbs at all.
  • Art Shift: As the series progresses, the animation quality increases as a natural outcome of the creator's skills improving. However, some scenes deliberately regress the animation to a poorer quality as a gag about the show temporarily running out of budget. Season 2 also commonly uses realistic photo backgrounds mixed with the cartoonishly drawn 2D characters.
  • Audience Participation: Nearly every episode features voting on the losing team for viewers to eliminate one, or in the case of Battle Royale Objects, vote to save one from elimination.
  • Author Avatar: Casey, a self-insert of the show's creator D. Casey Animations, is introduced in the ninth episode, reappears in the Season 1 finale, is a recurring character in Season 2, and appears once in Season 3 before never being heard from or mentioned again.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Lemon constantly has her head in the clouds, and seemingly by choice. In "Armed and Ready", she is seen to be reading "How to be Crazy". When not engaging in complete randomness, she is typically over-friendly, having no boundaries. Lemon also speaks with a southern accent. She is capable of Vocal Dissonance, having a deep, hearty, masculine laugh that does not fit her speaking voice. She also is shown to have a Black-Hole Belly, eating and regurgitating seemingly infinite blueberries and blueberry pies.
  • Courtroom Episode: Multiple. The first courtroom episode is the finale of Season 1, dubbed "Court An Ending", in which Win Token takes Blueberry to court for cheating in the competition. Blueberry is found guilty. The second court episode is in the finale of Season 2, when the Reset Button is pressed to revert time back to the previous courtroom episode, and this time Blueberry is found innocent. The second episode of Season 3 also is a courtroom episode, this time Win Token is taken to court by Boomerang for unlawfully imprisoning the eliminated contestants in previous seasons, being found guilty.
  • Crossover: After starting, seasons 4 and 5 take place simultaneously, in different locations. in episode 2 of Battle Royale Objects, the contestants stumble upon the contestants of Battle Of Objects Season Three, and convince Arcade Machine to allow contestants of each show to swap between them.
  • Death Is Cheap: For most of the show, a recovery center exists to revive characters that are killed. This does not apply to the first few episodes, as the recovery center is not built until Win Token is killed in Episode 3, as a plot point. This trope is also subverted in BOOST 1b, when Bready dies and the recovery center is not kept on hand at this point, prompting a race to find a recovery center and bring her back.
  • Eject the Loser: Like most object shows, eliminated contestants are removed from the show, ranging from being teleported into a blank empty world, launched out of a cannon into space, sent to a giant metal box, or dropped from the sky. This is only the case in the first three seasons.
  • Fingerless Hands: The characters on show seem to have ball-like appendages with fingers sometimes sticking out when necessary.
  • Guest Host: Two episodes have featured guest hosts. In BOO 3, Win Token is killed by his brother Immunity Token, who hosts the elimination until Win Token is revived, and the two host the challenge together. Win Token immediately returns to being the sole host, until he is arrested at the end of ABOOT 2, unwillingly leaving two of his brothers to host ABOOT 3.
  • Hostile Show Takeover: This has been attempted multiple times throughout the show. In Episode 3, Win Token is killed by his brother Immunity Token, who briefly takes over, only to co-host with him for the episode before being kicked out in the next episode. In Episode 8, Win Token's entire family attempts to take over the show while the cast attempt to return from being teleported far away from home. After a fight breaking out, a massive explosion forces the Tokens to retreat. This same plot is attempted two episodes later, with the Tokens invading again, only to be foiled by another explosion.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: Win Token has around 15 siblings, all of them having Sibling Rivalry with him at some point and most filling the Big Brother Bully role. His most commonly recurring brother, Immunity Token, has an affinity for cartoon bombs and has murdered Win Token once before.
  • Ship Sinking: The end of Season 1 builds a romance between Muggy and Blueberry, including an unexpected marriage proposal in Season 2, which is later seen to be All Just a Dream. One season later, Blueberry denies that their romance ever happened, making Muggy doubt what was real and what really was a dream. Blueberry is later shown to be dating Win Token.
  • Shout-Out: Battle Of Objects makes many deliberate references to Battle for Dream Island and Inanimate Insanity.
    • Notably, the contestants are sent to the land of BFDI, and Leafy makes an appearance in "Frozens Aisle". Puffball also appears in "Bring Me Home" and "A Rival's Arrival".
    • The first Courtroom Episode of Battle Of Objects, "Court An Ending", is directly inspired by the Inanimate Insanity II episode "Everything's A-OJ". Balloon even makes a split-second cameo.
    • The Elimination Prison in Battle Of Objects Two is a direct reference to the Tiny Loser Chamber from BFDI.
  • Title Drop: Starting in Season 4, each episode's title thus far is taken directly from a quote in the episode.
    • Foreshadowing: At the end of "Parabox", Casey questions if he has just woken up in a parallel universe. The next episode is titled "Parallel Universe".
  • Token Good Teammate: In Season 1, The Killers are made up of 3 jerks and two harmless nerdy types, Remote and iPhone (the token good teammates). In Season 5, iPhone again is placed on a team of jerks/tough guys.
