    Pre-Release Theories
King Magnifico will be the Big Bad Villain
Because of how the previous two films Encanto and Strange World had no antagonists, this will likely bring back a villain who will become one in the movie.

Plus, he gives off rather smarmy vibes in the trailer, the way he showboats, and apparently controls every wish to be granted, not to mention his Evil Laugh (heard at 0:31 in the teaser).

  • Confirmed.

Asha is going on a journey to the stars
Because the film will focus on wishes, Asha is likely going on a journey to the stars.

Walt Disney will make a cameo
Since it's the centennial of his company.
  • How? Will it be a character patterned after his appearance and mannerisms?

There will be at least one Easter Egg for each of the 61 previous films in the Disney Animated Canon
  • Not every film, but the ending credits show characters from most of the films. The five short story compilations, The Rescuers and its sequel, The Black Cauldron, Meet the Robinsons, Winnie the Pooh (2011), Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Frozen II are all missing.

Magnifico is based on Lucifer
Primarily white clothing? Prideful demeanor? Wicked goatee? Promises to grant wishes while taking them for himself? Sounds like a Lucifer analog to me.
  • Perhaps he will transform into a more devilish appearance in the climax.

Chernabog will make a cameo
Going on the above, maybe the original devil in Disney will appear. Perhaps even being Magnifico's true master.
  • Or maybe Magnifico is Chernabog, transforming into the all-powerful demon after he is defeated and killed by Asha!

What Magnifico is planning on doing with the wishes
From what he was saying to Asha in the trailer, he tells her about the wishes and ends by telling her to give her wish to him.

  • Perhaps he plans to use wishes to make himself or Rosas even more powerful.
  • His ultimate plan could be related to him ensuring all the wishes were under his control or gaining all their power to maintain his own, essentially like Jafar becoming an all-powerful genie.

Magnifico will have a Redemption Rejection moment
As Magnifico seems like a promising villain, there must be a scene that proves how much a Complete Monster is. In a scene such as this, Asha or some character tries to convince him to change his ways(possibly being confident about it as many recent heroes have been), only for him to completely refuse to, continue with his plot, and possibly force whoever tried to reach him to watch (leaving them completely devastated).

Magnifico will be Killed Off for Real
It looks like Wish will hopefully be bringing back new traditional Disney villains after so long. This should also include having villains die sometimes (not all the time). King Magnifico already seems to be a promising Complete Monster villain who will reject every offer given to change himself, which will lead to The Climax, where Asha will eventually destroy his power, return the wishes to their rightful owners, and destroy him for good.

Asha will suffer a Disney Death
Most Disney Animated Canon movies tend to have a character who dies and then comes back to life (thanks to usually magic). So maybe Asha will end up using a lot of magic to destroy Magnifico's power and kill him, which will use a large amount of life energy and leave Asha clinging to life by a thread. After a tearjerker moment of a dying Asha saying goodbye to her friends and loved ones, Star will make his own Heroic Sacrifice to bring Asha back, using his powers to revive her, but at the cost of returning to the sky to become the iconic wishing star, and not being able to see Asha alive again. Cue the Bittersweet Ending.

There will be a lot of references to previous Disney villains when shown King Magnifico
Since it's Disney's 100th anniversary, as a tribute to previous to previous villains, King Magnifico will be making huge references and homage to previous villains. For instance, we might see him hold a scepter or use hyenas to hunt down Asha, or use a magic mirror to find Star.

Since Disney called Magnifico one of the "most formidable foes in Disney history", he will basically be a combination of all the previous villains with a trait from all of them.

The Star (or potential Stars) will grow Super Giant at one point to protect the kingdom and/or people
And it will be a long-overdue nod to Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

Possible Wishes
With the film, Wish, focusing on the wishes based on the focused it was on Disney's Animated Films.

There are possibilities of what kind of wishes could happen in the film.

  • A Selfless Wish

    • Asha's "I Want" Song This Wish seems to be selfless as she seems to wish for a better life for not just her, but all the people in Rosas as well.
    • Adding onto the prediction above about Asha going through a Disney Death, Star could use his powers to make his own selfless wish of bringing Asha back to life

Be Careful What You Wish For will come into play
Pretty much every story about wishes inevitably deals with this at one point, and a film about a place where wishes are granted would probably be no exception.
  • As a counterpoint to a possible Selfless Wish as mentioned above, a wish to benefit everyone (perhaps made by Asha herself) would leave the wisher unaffected when they needed to.

King Magnifico will have a Villain Song
Well I mean, most Disney Villains in their own Disney Animated Canon films have had their own Villain Songs, so it would make very much sense for Magnifico to have his in Villain Song.

It could be possible that his Villain Song will be about why he would want to take over the Wishes and Stars, as well as his presumed plan to take over the wishes.

His song could also be about how great he is for the first part along with a hint of his plan, while a dark reprise (if any) could see him gloat about how he's won before getting blindsided by Star.

  • Confirmed. He will have a song titled This Is The Thanks I Get?!.

Asha will have a love interest or at least some hints of one.
One thing Disney must bring back is Disney Princesses having love interests again once in a while. So even if Asha does not have a regular love interest or get married, the least they can do is give possible hints of her liking another character, maybe something that could be explored in future media of the movie as a sequel or a show.
  • There are four boys and three girls in the Teens, it could be possible for Asha to have a crush on any of them.

The Teens are descendants of The Seven Dwarfs
Asha's friends, The Teens from the trailer of the film each looks familiar and bears some resemblance to The Seven Dwarfs besides the looks.

Asha will be Breaking the Fourth Wall over the film
She will narrate about the origin of The Stars including interacting with the audience about the stars including during the film.

Possible Cameo Characters
The film will be celebrating Disney's 100th Anniversary of Animation, so it would make sense if there were any characters from other Disney Animation Canon films.

  • The Seven Dwarfs
  • Snow White
  • Cinderella
  • Rapunzel
  • Chernabog

  • There have already been a couple of cameos in Ralph Breaks the Internet, so this is unlikely.

King Magnifico will be a Red Herring
Come on now, we know this twist already. He's a setup for the real villain who will be an ally for the heroes or the true villain will be something more thematic like depression. Adding further evidence is that his reasons for villainy involve... not giving everyone a wish despite there being valid reasons for it.

Magnifico will repent his evil ways by the end, and peacefully give up his crown to Asha
  • Jossed.

Asha wish is to become special
From what we know about Asha, it looks like through her song she was being neglected, pushed around, and bullied which could be why she wanted to have a wish to become noticed and loved including being special.

Possible Names of The Seven Children
Since none of their names have been revealed just yet, there are some possibilities on what their names could be.

  • Gruñón
  • Tímido
  • Somnolienta (feminine)
  • Somnoliento (masculine)
  • Estornundo
  • Atontado
  • Doc
    • Jossed, their names have been confirmed to be Dahlia, Simon, Hal, Safi, Bazeema, Dario, and Gabo.

Asha will have a Ship Tease with one of the Seven Children
Well her actress is bisexual and it would make sense for her to have a Love Interest.

The Seven Children will become True Companions and friends with Asha

The Seven are presumably Asha’s best friends and they may show some suspicions about King Magnifico besides only a few that are adored of the wishes.

If Asha ends up in a situation or has any problems, taking down Magnifico and rescuing the wishes, The Seven will defend her and help her save the wishes from him.

The Queen will become a Foil and Good Counterpart of King Magnifico
We so far at least know that she and Magnifico are emperor and empress of the twin kingdoms they rule.So far she hasn't been shown doing anything unlike her presumed spouse Magnifico, and it could be that she wants to do what’s best for the citizens.

This could show that she may serve as a Foil and Good Counterpart of him, wanting to help and give people their wishes instead of forcing them, unlike Magnifico who wants to take away the wishes. She will turn against him if he goes too far with his plans.

There will be a Storybook Opening
Just like many other Disney Animated Canon have done. Bonus points if it's live-action.
  • Confirmed. The film starts with a storybook opening, but it's animated in the same CG style as the rest of the film.

Magnifico will be an embodiment of Disney's worst practices
These will include greed and hoarding others' properties by manipulating others into giving them to him (as seen with the wishes).

King Magnifico will be a Disc-One Final Boss, or there will be other antagonists looking for the star.

King Magnifico is a Red Herring, and "one of the most formidable foes in Disney's history" refers to a currently unseen Greater-Scope Villain.
Considering the nature of the wishing star and the potential scope of such a thing, perhaps the antagonist will be some kind of truly powerful Eldritch Abomination not unlike the aforementioned Chernabog.

King Magnifico is The Usurper
He has the power of Laser-Guided Amnesia. He could very easily have made the people forget their real King and Queen and installed himself on the throne. The real King and Queen could even be Asha's parents, mind-wiped into thinking they're peasants, leading to a Rightful King Returns moment led by Asha.
  • Unlikely. Asha's mother Sakina and grandpa Sabino were confirmed so Asha is definitely not a born-royal.

King Magnifico will Go Out with a Smile
This would be a pretty big subversion to most villain deaths in Disney canon since most die screaming.

Alternatively, King Magnifico will have a Disney Villain Death
The all-time classic way for Disney villains to go out!

Someone will actually utter a strong swear word
Not like "Hell" or anything subject to Have a Gay Old Time, I mean like an outright F-Bomb, which I doubt anything in Disney outside of Miramax or Touchstone... touched. But what better time than the 100th anniversary to do what has never been done before?

It would be hilarious if during a moment of frustration, someone actually did swear, and everyone else was momentarily shocked by it, just as the audience is. Or even epic if Asha during the defeat of Magnifico yells at him to "Shut the f—- up!".

King Magnifico is Asha's father
Asha was either abandoned and adopted by Sakina, or Magnifico wished to become King and abandoned his family (erasing him from their memories), so he could marry the Queen. This would make Asha a Disney Princess. It would also explain why Magnifico picked her, of all people, to be his apprentice. He wanted someone of his own blood to succeed him and avoid a Succession Crisis for the throne.

Queen Amaya is a victim of the wishing magic herself
She was once just a normal peasant woman who had either been longing for a husband or had been involved with a man that she was forbidden from marrying for some reason. When she made a wish for herself to have a "happy marriage", King Magnifico granted it because he saw it as a beneficial wish for Rosas… because he could use it as an excuse to twist the wish around and grant it by having Amaya marry him and giving her brain the added filter of seeing him only as a "perfect and good ruler and husband" so that he could improve his image with a completely supportive queen. (Because frankly, her attitude towards him in the trailers seemed eerily blindly glorifying and subservient like it felt more like a servant talking to him than a wife).

There will be an instance of Villain Has a Point.
King Magnifico only grants wishes he believes can serve him and the Kingdom of Rosa, leaving the majority ungranted and forgotten. While he's using his own bias and agenda to judge, it's not wrong to believe a lot of people's wishes would be selfish in nature and detrimental to society. What if someone wished they were king or queen? The wishing star might grant a few of these troublesome wishes and the fallout can demonstrate how not every wish should come true to encourage some forethought in your wishing.

There will be more than one antagonist symbolizing both kinds of Disney antagonists
King Magnifico will be the conventional physical threat to Asha, but the big enemy to them both will be the metaphorical embodiment of Be Careful What You Wish For.

King Magnifico will have a Villainous Breakdown.
Asha, Valentino, and Star (though mostly Star) could outwit him, leading him to lose his cool and sanity throughout the film. The finale could also see Star getting the upper hand at reclaiming the wishes or blindsiding him right before he claims victory, causing him to finally snap and angrily engage Asha in a final battle, falsely blaming her for ruining everything.

King Magnifico will pull all the stops for a final battle.
Disney villains such as Maleficent, Alameda Slim, and Jafar had a battle with one of the protagonists. Some possibilities for King Magnifico's battle include:
  • Entering a One-Winged Angel form using all of the kingdom's contained wishes, boastfully making an A God Am I speech that resembles Jafar's in the process. The transformation sequence could be reminiscent of Maleficent's.
    • Adding onto this, he could transform into a form akin to Chernabog himself.
  • Being as smart and active as Gaston or Frollo, using brute force and multiple wishes to gain an edge.
  • Combining some magic books (as seen in the official trailer) with wishes to make something he can control from inside like Oogie Boogie or remotely like Syndrome and the tenth version of the Omnidroid.
  • Using the wishes and magic mentioned earlier to pull off Ursula's enlarging herself.
  • Using the wishes similarly to the Horned King or DOR-15 (Doris) summoning their armies.

Simon will undergo a Brainwashed and Crazy fueled Face–Heel Turn
During the scene of the trailer where King Magnifico is lambasting Asha as a traitor and ordering her to be hunted down at any cost, Simon, who was earlier in the trailer shown to have been making a wish to have been a knight to the King, is shown right there at his side with his sword drawn and is not shown to be having any real issues with what his "King" is saying even though the other members of the seven have been looking pretty darn horrified at all this. Keep in mind that the King mentioned that he grants wishes that are "beneficial to Rosas" aka him, and the fact that giving the King your wishes can inflict some kind of amnesia effect on a person's brain implies that there's a whole lot more they can do to a person's brain as well. I don't think that Simon would betray Asha normally under regular circumstances. Still, because he made a wish to be a knight, King Magnifico is choosing to grant that wish so he can twist it to his own ends by basically brainwashing Simon into being his blindly loyal knight who was willing to take on whatever order his king gave him, even if it was to hunt down and betray one of his only and closest friends. So now in addition to having to stop King Magnifico, Asha and the rest of the Seven will have to deal with getting their friend Simon freed from the King's mind control and saving him before it's too late.
  • One of the trailers has a shot where Asha's friends, except for Dahlia and Simon, swing down into the room where Magnifico keeps the wishes. While Dahlia's absence is to be expected since she needs a crutch to walk, Simon's not being there is a little more suspect.

Simon will suffer a Disney Death
A possible extension to the prediction above. Besides Asha being the one who gets brought back to life by magic after dying (as mentioned in the theory above), Simon could also be a contender for the character who goes through this process. After Asha and the Six manage to break Simon free from Magnifico's control, he could either take a bullet from the evil king intended for Asha or in general make a Heroic Sacrifice in the Final Battle climax. After Magnifico is (hopefully) killed, his friends will surround him as he spends his last moments being happy to be himself again. While they cry, however, Star (just like the theory about Asha) will use its powers to resurrect him before leaving to return to the sky.

The movie will feature easter eggs to upcoming Disney movies
Similar to Aladdin, it has a unique example where what's being cameoed aren't characters, but the locations or things from future Disney movies.

Like the movie might feature Star and Asha traveling to different places around the world and the places foreshadow where these future films are set or King Magnifico being seen holding objects that would be used in future Disney movies.

King Magnifico will capture Asha at some point in the film
It's possible that at some point in the movie, Asha will be captured by the king and her friends must sneak in to rescue her from Magnifico.

King Magnifico will have a flashback where, as a young boy, he sings about wanting to be a king.

Why not reference one of the most famous songs of the Disney Renaissance?

Amaya of Rosas will realize that Magnifico is evil

She doesn't even know that Magnifico has not granted any of the people's wishes since he is keeping them and that he's hiding his evil persona.

This can mean that if she has a moment to notice something wrong about her spouse, she will start to realize that Asha is innocent and that her husband is nothing but a power-hungry king who only wants power from the wishes.

Asha will expose Magnifico to Rosas
Once Asha and Star take down Magnifico after stopping him, the duo will be able to finally expose him to the citizens of Rosas by telling them that he doesn’t grant them wishes but keeps them for his power.

Asha will become a queen or future ruler/leader of Rosas
In the trailer, Dahlia stated that Asha was becoming King Magnifico’s apprentice when she was nervous about becoming one, that is until the latter left after realizing Magnifico was keeping them in his private room instead of granting the wishes as he promised the citizens.

This would mean that Asha was in training to become a future leader or successor so it could be possible that Asha could become a future successor once she defeats Magnifico.

Asha's father
We don't know that much info about him besides his being the son of Sabino and the late husband to Sakina and the late father to Asha.

The film could explore some parts of his backstory before he passed away.

The Seven Teens will free and save the wishes
In a few moments of the teaser and official trailers, the group is shown jumping down, with both Valentino and Star joining them while in Magnifico’s private room.

This could mean that the group (including Star and Valentino) are presumably sneaking into the room to collect and free the wishes to return them to everyone in Rosas.

Magnifico got his good looks from a wish
I can't help it if mirrors love my face, it's genetic, "I got these genes from outer space"?!

Taking an alternate position from the above WMG, Magnifico is a fallen star himself. For whatever reason, he went rogue and founded Rosas as his own personal wish-worshipping society.
In earlier drafts of the story, the Star was a shapeshifter— who's to say Magnifico didn't retain some of that old concept? It would certainly explain the 'genes from outer space' comment. He's not from this world.

Asha will become the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella
The reason she looks different is because she uses her magic, natural or wish-given, to shapeshift into a form the person she's helping would be comfortable with.

Asha will undergo a Gorgeous Garment Generation outfit transformation
Her regular outfit in the marketing could possibly transform into an elaborate, more Disney Princess-style gown during an important plot point. And after the movie comes out, there will be a lot of marketing done with it.

King Magnifico is immortal and keeping himself alive through his magic
The bridge in 'The Thanks I Get' says he'll do anything to make 'that light reverse.' He also looks younger than some of Rosas' townsfolk, and looks way older than Queen Amaya, but is somehow the founder.

Star is a metaphor for Disney and/or animation in general
Star seems to give anything it comes in contact with magical and full of life. (The entire "I'm A Star" segment is it using its magic to let the forest animals sing.) So it could be a metaphor for how animation can bring life to anything that couldn't be in the real world.

Similarly to above, King Magnifico is a metaphor for people who run animation studios
King Magnifico wants to block people's wishes similar to how animation studios block creativity or animation fans's criticism about the quality of their film. Just like an animation executive, King Magnifico only seems to see animation as a way to benefit himself and no one else.

Some of the citizens who granted their wishes are trapped in their wishes
Well think about it if you noticed at least during part of the trailer including during Magnifico's Villain Song "This Is The Thanks I Get!?", you noticed one seeing Magnifico while holding the wish and the same for the other one after almost if it some of their minds are trapped in it.

Magnifico is going to take Asha's family's wishes
In one of the behind-the-scenes trailers, Magnifico is visiting Asha, her mother, and grandfather from their home presumably to investigate and find the "traitor" after noticing a sparkled brightness from the forest.

He was already shown fulfilling more power in himself and his staff, meaning that he had already taken one of the wishes as well.

Queen Amaya will become the new ruler of Rosas
Amaya has been nothing but a kind empress herself, unlike her husband who is a narcissistic monarch who doesn't even care about the people of Rosas while she does. She even helped Asha and her friends in taking him down while freeing the wishes from him back to the people including Asha's family. Once Magnifico is defeated, Amaya will likely become the new ruler instead.
  • Confirmed.

In the end, Asha will be able to grant wishes themself
Plus ten points if it's Tinkerbell's wand.

    Post-Release Theories
Magnifico is The Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
During the Freeze-Frame Bonus of his defeat of being trapped in his own staff after Asha and the rest of Rosas wished their own wishes while freeing the star, a silhouette of The Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is shown, except only that it doesn’t have a mustache.

This would definitely explain The Magic Mirror’s backstory and who he was before becoming a slave to The Evil Queen.

The apprenticeship is given to people with magical talent
  • Asha's wish was to see her family's wishes granted. The entire plot breaks down if she doesn't have the information that Magnifico doesn't want her to know so perhaps she has some passive protection from being a magical novice.

Chernabog manipulated the situation to free up the kingdom for take over
  • Ursula, Maleficent, or friends on the other side are also possible.

Asha is the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella
The film ends with her friends and the people of Rosas deciding Asha should learn to use the magic wand that Star gives to grant people's wishes. Even calling her the Fairy Godmother. Her cloak even resembles the Fairy Godmother's cloak, as does her wand.
  • Alternatively, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother was Asha's apprentice, with the aged Asha having been the proper mentor that Magnifico never would've been.

The Seven Kids are relatives of The Seven Dwarfs
They do show some resemblance with part of their clothing of The Seven Dwarfs from Snow White.

Wish takes place in the same universe as Encanto and Strange World

Wish is basically an origin story for the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella
If the theory above states that Asha is the Fairy Godmother, then this theory might have some truth to it.

King Magnifico will return.
I say this because Disney villains who get imprisoned eventually return. So our narcissistic sorcerer could return for revenge!
  • If he does return in a sequel, he'll be Killed Off for Real at the end.
  • Alternatively, to use another WMG mentioned above, and another option that usually pops up with villains who are still alive, this could be the chance for him to repent his evil ways.

Dario is one of Fred's distant ancestors

Queen Amaya or her successor gifts the mirror Magnifico is trapped in to another kingdom
And that's how he ends up in the hands of the Evil Queen.

Rosas will eventually fall
Rosas was protected by King Magnifico, a powerful sorcerer who founded his city and did seem to take pride in keeping his people safe, as his own kingdom was destroyed. However, with him gone, it won't be long before other kingdoms see his absence as an opportunity to raid the kingdom for its riches. It would explain how the magic mirror ended up in the hands of the Evil Queen (assuming Magnifico is the Magic Mirror).

Wish takes place in the same universe as the other animated films
Well, the Easter eggs so far have been nothing but references or cameos, with there being implications that Magnifico being the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Asha being the fairy godmother from Cinderella, despite both of them being separate as shown from Once Upon a Studio.

Not to mention that it was stated that it is an Origin Story on the wishing stars being wished upon during the animated films of The Disney Animated Canon.

Magnifico killed Asha's father for seeing his research as a threat to him.
  • Building off of this, Asha's mother's wish was to see her husband one last time, which Magnifico refused to grant out of fear he'd tell her what happened to him.

Asha and The Fairy Godmother aren’t the same fairy godmother but separate
Okay look, I know and can’t argue that Asha is The Fairy Godmother due to her smearing a similar cloak resembling the fairy godmother’s robe including her magic wand at the end of the film. Oh not to mention the Fairy Godmother is white or Caucasian while Asha is black.

However, they can’t be the same but could still be separate since they were both in Once Upon a Studio in which Fairy Godmother used her wand while Asha was with both Snow White and Mulan.

The Fairy Godmother will become a mentor to Asha
Even if they may not be the same or at least separate fairy godmothers, The Fairy Godmother from Cinderella could still help her be able to grant wishes like the former did for Cinderella.

Star runs on God Needs Prayer Badly.
Their limited magic is because most of Rosa's wishes haven't made it to them due to Magnifico taking them all. Once Asha sent her wish directly to them, Star realized why this was and decided to personally intervene with the little power this gave them. This also explains how Star could bust out of the staff at the end—everyone making the same wish at the same time supercharged them.

The animals in "You're A Star" are the ancestors of Snow White's animal friends.
It's especially obvious with the deer and turtle.

Magnifico had already briefly dabbled in dark magic before the beginning of the story
He already had that tome of dark spells in his study, he'd probably experimented with it at least once but managed to keep from going further with it, hence why it's under lock and key when Asha arrives, but always gnawing at the back of his mind that he could use it to become even more powerful. This is why he turned to it so quickly after Star showed up instead of diligently using his "good" magic to find it. It could also very well be why he turned out to not be as benevolent as his reputation suggests right from the beginning. This would also explain how he already had that secret lair underneath his study as well.

Magnifico caused the destruction of his former home.
Tying into the "Magnifico had already dabbled in dark magic" theory above, young Magnifico cast a spell that either attracted the thieves that destroyed his home or destroyed it outright and the thieves story is a cover-up. It wouldn't be beyond Magnifico to cover up his involvement in what happened to his family and home.

    Sequel/Spinoff Theories
Possible Villains
Magnifico has been taken down after he was admittedly been punished by being trapped into his own staff after the rest of Rosas has stopped and stood up to him, with him now being forced to be in the dungeon for his crimes.

Now that Asha is a fairy godmother and that Rosa is protected by Amaya, there will likely be other threats that may be coming for Rosas.

  • Another Sorcerer who wants to take down Asha and Star but instead of taking them he wants the stardust in order to be able to help others.
  • An obsessed person who wants to find out about the star's origins and information.
  • A cosmic being who has an insane Joker personality.
  • A former apprentice of Magnifico's, or someone who applied for an apprenticeship but the events of the film happened too quickly for them to get the job.
  • A shadow who wants to terrorize people with nightmares.
  • A Green-Eyed Monster who will have jealousy against Asha for being able to grant wishes.
  • Descendants of the greedy thieves who destroyed Magnifico's original home and family.
  • The one who created the Book of Forbidden Magic, coming to claim it back.

Possible Ideas
With Rosas now being freed from its previous owner Magnifico and Asha now becoming the new fairy godmother

There are a few plots and mysteries that we still don’t know about.

  • Asha’s father before he passed away.
  • The Seven Teens having more focus, mostly Hal, on their adventures.
  • The Fairy Godmother being a mentor to Asha to help her grant people their wishes.
  • Star visiting the characters that wished upon the stars.
  • What other places are there besides Rosas?
  • The Star still being an impact on some other fairytales or inspired stories that have yet to happen soon.

Star will want to Become a Real Boy
Going off of the original concept where he was a humanoid shapeshifter, if there's a sequel, Star will return and want to be a real boy, and possibly have a relationship with Asha. It will be a reference to Pinocchio, the second Disney movie after Snow White.

Asha returns as the Big Good supporting the protagonists
The ending implies that she becomes a Fairy Godmother (not the same Fairy Godmother as in Cinderella, but the basic gist is there), so odds are she learns how to harness her wand's power and uses Star's magic to become a benevolent magical figure, using her light magic to oppose the sequel's villain.

There will be shorts on the character after the events of the film
It will be focusing on Star, Valentino, and The Seven Teens though separate on what they have been doing after Rosa’s was saved from Magnifico.

If a short or spin-off happens, Hal will start to become focus
The animated film had given almost every one of the six teens more screen time and focus except for Hal who had less screen time than any of them.

There will be a live-action prequel or retelling focusing on Magnifico.
He's the element of the film even its detractors like, and with other villain-focused films like Maleficent and Cruella, a Magnifico film wouldn't be off the table.

Possible Spin-Offs
Frozen II, the sequel to Frozen (2013), focused on Elsa while going on a journey to notice the voice she was hearing, while Ralph Breaks the Internet also focused on Vanellope exploring through games after her own game shut down.

So it makes sense for Wish to have some spin-offs because of how loveable their characters are and since some of them haven’t had any development.

  • The Seven Teens
  • Star
  • Queen Amaya’s time while taking over as the sole ruler of Rosas.

Possible Ideas on what possible sequels of Wish could focus in

Look I know that while it was praised for its wonderful animation of celebration, it was criticized for a few things such as generic Disney songs despite the songs having been great, constant references to past Disney movies coming across as overwhelming and distracting despite it being a celebration, and The backstories of the main characters haven't been developed or even hinted.

The future of Wish could help with what sequels or prequels maybe that can focus on some characters besides Asha.

  • The backstory of how Sakina and Tomas met.
  • Simon becoming a better person while being able to support his friends.
  • The Stars from the Sky's origins including before Star came down to Asha.
  • The Seven Teens going on adventures including journeys through the kingdom and to other places.

Asha will force King Magnifico to help her
A bigger, more menacing villain will threaten Rosas, making King Magnifico look tame in comparison. The Big Bad of that sequel will be so terrifying, that Asha would be forced to take drastic measures to ensure Rosas does not fall, to the point where she frees King Magnifico to help fend off the threat, though she finds a way to keep him in line (using force) and everyone would have shades of Forgiven, but Not Forgotten around him.

Any potential No Antagonist subplot
Wish has a villain in the form of King Magnifico, so any spinoff or sequel with him could involve him fighting his own demons, including whatever was in that forbidden magic, as a reference to some past Disney films having antagonistic but not villainous characters. This may result in Magnifico realizing as threatening as he thought Star was, he is ultimately His Own Worst Enemy, with the thing in his magic taunting him for it. Throughout the sequel, he will have to face his past, the thing in his forbidden magic, and those demons and make peace with all of them if he is to help Asha defeat the sequel's Big Bad.
