Beware of unmarked spoilers for the final video of Week 7 and beyond.
- I wouldn't say so, considering Boyfriend in this series has only corrupted people inside vanilla Friday Night Funkin' only, and much less considering how the fandom itself has corrupted FNF Corruption the same way you mentioned, creating Recursive Fanfiction out of having mod characters corrupted by Evil Boyfriend.
- Jossed by the The Stinger of the video for MEMORY//LEAK.
Sure, the "main" story may have ended with the final video of Week 7, but if we're going off The Stinger at the end, which mentions a "next part" to the story, there may be additional subplots that Phantom Fear will reveal when the time is right (including but not limited to: new songs, new opponents, etc). The mod is still in progress (and has been for a few months now), so we may expect to see more Corruption content in the foreseeable future.
- Confirmed! There's one more week starring Boyfriend & the Corruption in his mind.
- Make that two, with Corrupted GF as the opponent.
- There's gonna be a week 10 but with Pico as the opponent!
- Four in a row, because there will be a week 11 with Tankman as the opponent. (even though Phantom said that he will be one day)
- Jossed; It turns to have been a Battle in the Center of the Mind against Soul Boyfriend, however, him looking for Girlfriend is more than possible in the future.
- It seems he found her right after breaking free, however, if MEMORY//LEAK's Stinger is any indication.
- Senpai's game isn't "corrupted", the game was flat out deleted. It doesn't mean there isn't a possibility that he's Not Quite Dead, though.
- Jossed as he is glitched/corrupted in "Null And Void", so he didn't has any backups (plus the TV is also broken so).
- Makes sense for the Corruption to be unable to corrupt Senpai, as the Corruption's effects are physical and don't appear to have any effect in the cyberworld, thus Corruption's best alternative was to delete his game entirely.
- While it isn't exactly confirmed just yet, it doesn't appear that Tankman or any character unreleased when the mod began production to be appearing anytime soon. It should tell you much just how much Tankman matters in this continuity when Week 7 has been replaced with Daddy Dearest.
- Perhaps the corruption already thought they were corrupted due to all the black armor they wear, they never bothered to actually check on them.
- Aside from the fact that this is the first time we see Corrupted Boyfriend completely still just like in his gameover screen, the nameless voice speaks about "confinement", "isolation", "paralysis", "loss of control" and if "this is where [he] wanted to be", with two growls asking Boyfriend to wake up by force, could be either seen as Boyfriend's conscious speaking to him... or Corruption trying to bait him into fighting because he has nobody else to fight, if that's the case, this could very not be the time Boyfriend finally pulls the tides on Corruption, but instead a Hopeless Bossfight for him.
- Jossed, it was Soul Boyfriend specifically awakening Boyfriend in order to help free him from the Corruption, with it being made VERY clear that Soul Boyfriend and the Corruption are two separate beings entirely.
- Think, every character in the game that is original to the series has very simple names: The boyfriend is Boyfriend, the girlfriend is Girlfriend, the monster is Monster, the senpai is Senpai, the spirit is Spirit and before their full names were stated by the devs, Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest were known as The Father and The Mother respectively. My primary reason for believing this is the ending to "Deathmatch", as it says "The world was overpowered by Corruption...", not "overpowered by the corruption", but "by Corruption", with a capital C.
- As an extension to this theory, perhaps the Jester/Demon seen on a poster when Corrupted Gf tries to kill Bf in Allure is Corruption, and Bf will face them after (or while) freeing Gf.
- This is mainly due to "Neuroses", but "Tormentor" helps. In the latter song, Soul Boyfriend's dialogue isn't exactly "evil" as it is rather arrogant, saying things like "too easy", "try this" and "not enough", with the corruption never being brought up. My main case is with the former song, namely the final part. Towards the end, Soul BF says "I've got it" before manifesting a guitar out of nowhere, with BF's face changing from a somewhat nervous look to the same, cocky smile he had in "Tormentor", with it sticking until Soul BF disappears and the background changes. Was Soul BF trying to help his uncorrupted counterpart regain his confidence?
- This would explain why Soul BF woke real BF from their paralysis it to begin with.
- Confirmed with the final video of Week 8, as Soul BF helped the real BF break free from the corruption within his mind.
Think about it. Monster acts very similar to the Other Mother/Beldam. The people are under his control via the Corruption, and many of them don't want to do what they're told to do, either by giving subtle hints or breaking free from the Corruption, similar to Other Wybie helping Coraline escape or the Other Father giving Coraline one of the ghost children's eyes. From "Neuroses", Soul Boyfriend says that "this isn't my doing", indicating that he's only doing what Monster tells him to do, and he's trying to tell Boyfriend, and by extension the audience, this. This may also explain why Soul BF's Twitter page is mostly humorous posts about guitars: he's off the clock, so to speak.
- Assuming that the mod ends with the likely purging of the virus, nobody will want to let the monster get away with it. Either he'll be murdered by an angry mob or be put in a situation (Possibly by Daddy Dearest) where he can do nothing but wait for his suffering to end, if there even is an end.
- In the description of every FNF:C video, it describes the corrupted character as a "creepy lemon demon version" of themselves, which is strange considering the fact that Monster has nothing to do with Lemon Demon outside of sharing a lemon motif. This may just be Stylistic Suck in the form of a copy-paste of Phantom Fear's very first FNF:C test videos, but in this Wild Mass Guess, I propose that it's completely true and intentional. After Monster dies to his own Corruption, everyone will enter into an Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny of their own where only the most bloodthirsty corrupted creature will win, do battle with the Potter Puppet Pals, and eventually become strong enough to acquire the one they were all created to capture: Lemon "Neil Ciciriega" Demon.
- If I can give you a little bit of advice, no theory, no matter how convoluted it is, is ever too stupid to end up on WMG page. That’s exactly why these pages are up, to put forth your wildest theories!
- During Week 6, it's particularly odd to me that Girlfriend disappeared at the time of Soul Boyfriend's appearance. Then it possibly hit me, why Soul Boyfriend had a more devil-like look even though there was already an appearance representing Corrupted Boyfriend. Girlfriend's disappearance and Soul Boyfriend's creation may have been her pulling a Kingdom Hearts and using her demonic abilities to take shelter in Boyfriend's soul (Resulting in Soul Boyfriend's demonic look) in order to pull a Spanner in the Works to save him from the Corruption in the long run, and give a chance for him to save everyone else too.
- Jossed, turns out that the "Soul Boyfriend" that appeared in Week 6 was a copy of them known as Glitch Boyfriend, Soul Boyfriend outright admits he's just a figment of Boyfriend's mind, and Girlfriend has been spotted in Week 8's Stinger separate from Soul Boyfriend after MEMORY//LEAK.
- Near the end of "Neuroses" and through out "Discharge", the Corruption's influence over Boyfriend's mind seems to weaken whenever either BF starts to play the guitar. With the latter ending with the two outright shattering BF's mental prison with one final guitar shred. So, it could be that Rock and Roll is the virus' Achilles' Heel.
- All Girlfriend does after Boyfriend gets corrupted is follow the latter along and twitching to the beat of the song. If Girlfriend got erased in the Hating Simulator following what happened between "Treacherous Thorns" and "Roots" (and is absent from Week 7 as a result), she might've suffered that fate because she's no use for the Corruption.
- Jossed. As Week 9 showcases, she is 110% not useless even after Boyfriend's corruption.
- Soul BF definitely had Boyfriends best interests at heart while Spirit was trying to kill Boyfriend in his possessed state… Soul BF naturally would not want Boyfriend to be killed before he could be freed so Spirit had to be deleted to keep him from killing Boyfriend.
- Possibly Jossed, as it's implied that the Soul Boyfriend who fought Spirit was an evil clone of the real deal.
- Update: Girlfriend didn't even try to recorrupt Boyfriend during Allure, she was out there trying to catch bodies. As it happens, the only one that the corruption went straight for the kill with prior to this is Senpai, and that was because he couldn't get corrupted due to being a digital entity. Boyfriend seems to not only have Daddy Dearest's corruption self-reversal ability, but also the exact degree and type of sheer stupidity needed to not falter like Daddy Dearest did.
- Jossed. The gang fight the giant Tankman head on, though it takes The Harvester to really take it down.
- It seems like that Senpai will be the next opponent.
- Well, semi-confirmed, because in the fight with Pico, Evil Skid is alone.
