Corrupted Kingdoms is an H-Game Visual Novel created by Arc on Patreon.
The story follows a male protagonist, with the default name of Robin Goodfellow, but whose name is fully customizable. He journeys back to his childhood hometown, which he and his mother had been driven out of.Seeking to uncover who has been responsible for The Conspiracy, be it out of a desire for justice or revenge, he quickly finds himself tangled into something much bigger than he could have expected when a being known as The Beast appears in the flat he had rented, and kills him.
Story over, right? Nope, it's just the beginning! He is saved, or rather revived by Morgana, a powerful woman heading a council of the Fey, with the intention of being used as a pawn in her schemes.
Gaining magical powers, including, but not limited to, a weak ability to control others, Robin must now struggle to survive in a world of magic, eldritch horrors, and an organization of humans determined to wipe out the Fey and all associated with them. All the while, he must try to untangle the mysteries surrounding himself and his mother... And get into some sexy fun with his new powers while he's at it! Gotta get your priorities straight after all!
Corrupted Kingdoms provides examples of:
- Astral Projection: The first power Robin discovers, called Drift, using it to (unintentionally) spy on a Fey Council meeting.
- Berserk Button: Mention having something to do with what happened to Robin's mother at your own risk.
- Blessed with Suck: Qarinah is a Dream Succubus, who can feel, enter and control the dreams of others. Sounds awesome right? Well, not when you constantly feel the dreams of every currently dreaming being all at once, and hold the responsibility of managing the entirety of the Dream Realm. She tries to earn the affection of the populace of one planet by making all of their dreams a paradise, but instead, dooms them by causing them to escape into dreams for longer and longer periods of time, eventually creating machines that permanently keep them asleep. She then goes to the opposite extreme, turning the dreams of another planet into nightmares, hoping to push them into making their waking lives into the paradise they desire, but this just creates enormous, unending stress for those people. Eventually, she almost destroys herself, unable to bear the responsibility and guilt of her failures anymore. Thankfully, Robin is able to talk her out of it.
- Clone Degeneration: Luna, the sole survivor of a calamity that wiped out her race of rabbit people, resorts to cloning herself to keep her species alive, but unfortunately runs into this problem.
- Eccentric Mentor: Hoo boy, where do you even start with Robin's Gramps?
- Eldritch Abomination: The Beast that's been hunting Robin the entire game can be best described as this. An unreasonable and unstoppable force that consumes magic and is seemingly aware of the world being on its 25th cycle.
- Eternal Recurrence: The game's world seems to be caught in one. Through dialogue with some of the game's more... out there characters, such as the Mysterious Merchant, the Trickster, and the Artifact, it seems like the world is currently on its 25th loop.
- Mind Control: Robin's primary weapon of choice when it comes to seducing girls. Granted, it's rather weak version, and eventually develops into a two different forms, Awaken, and the nuclear option, Shatter.
- Proud Warrior Race Gal: Asteria, leader of the Minotaur Tribe, definitely counts. As the leader, she must be the strongest. Thanks to Robin, she learns there's more to being strong than just physical might.
- Really 700 Years Old: Many of the Fey have much longer lifespans than humans in general. Also, if an offhand comment of Robin's Grandfather is to be believed, he and Sawano, a kunoichi rival of his, are at least a couple hundred years old themselves.
- Servile Snarker: Well, Robin's companion, Pixie, isn't really a servant, per say. However, she gets bound to him in order to sustain his connection to the Artifact, which is what Morgana used to bring Robin Back from the Dead. As such, she is stuck with him and is very helpful to him... And she takes every possible opportunity to poke fun at him.
- Videogame Cruelty Potential: Pretty much a game mechanic. The player is often presented with options to either be cruel or kind to the girls Robin has his way with. At one point, he can have kunoichi under his command either knock out or kill two members of the Organization.
- When Elders Attack: Eccentric Gramps might be, but he is clearly not to be trifled with. At one point he casually catches a shuriken thrown at him by a kunoichi, before proceeding to hand said kunoichi's ass to her.
