Dawn never comes when the world's coming to an end.

In the future, technological advances have allowed humans to become one with the machine. But this progress did not come without consequences...
Centuries of war and destruction left earth barren of resources. With what little they had, the survivors pooled together their resources to create the Mega City.
Governed by an omnipotent AI, this solar-powered Utopia flourished. At the height of it's power, super corporations sought to usurp control of the Mega City.
Refugees of war were taken and cybernetically modified to become trained mercenaries for these super corppoations.
After a generation of slaughter, a peace agreement between the remaining corporations was established.
However, that peace would be short lived...

Unending Dusk is a Korean sci-fi themed Beat 'em Up action game developed by indie company, Vindicate Games.

Set After the End, an unspecified apocalypse turned the surface of earth into a desolated wasteland filled with marauders and assorted monsters. As the forces of evil claims the world for themselves, it's up to the players to select a hero to restore peace.

Players can choose between the following hero classes:

L-R: Gunslinger, Assassin, Brawler, Rogue, Engineer, Templar

  • The Assassin, a Jack of All Stats swordsman whose blade can ignite into a Flaming Sword at will;
  • The Brawler, a muscular Lightning Bruiser Cyborg who uses cybernetically-charged fists for kicking plenty of ass with ease while sacrificing range;
  • The Templar, a BFS-wielding Mighty Glacier cleric stronger (with his sword dealing out far greater damage) but slower than the Assassin;
  • The Gunslinger, a... uhm, Gunslinger mercenery who uses Guns Akimbo and exclusively excels in ranged attacks but doesn't have any melee moves;
  • The Rogue, a fast-moving Fragile Speedster fighter that Dual Wield daggers, easily shredding chunks of life from mooks with rapid speed; and
  • The Engineer, the Token Robot and a Glass Cannon who has all sorts of state-of-the-art weaponry built in it's system, but god forbid if he gets damaged in a fight.

This game contain examples of:

  • The Apunkalypse: Once civilization ends, most of the surviving populace have resorted into becoming cannibalistic raiders who slaughter other humans for food and for fun.
  • Attack Drone: The first Assist Character unit you can obtain is a hovering drone that shoots slow-moving projectiles on enemies. The factory stage have hostile versions of these drones as an enemy alongisde robots.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: Those pile of bones and skulls in the raiders' camps, that you stumble across in numerous levels while beating the snot out of everyone? A line of dialogue reveals that's the remnants of their meals.
  • Battle in the Rain: The very first stage is set in heavy rain as you battle raiders while trying to infiltrate their camps.
  • Big Red Devil: You can fight literal red demons (with Satan-like horns and fangs) later on in the game. Some of them are huge enough to be Giant Mook enemies towering over you and other onscreen mooks.
  • Charged Attack: With a power level high enough, holding the attack button for all classes will execute a powerful forward slash or punch that send mooks flying to the other side of the screen by the dozens.
  • Dark Action Girl: The Thief and Gunslinger classes are both women, and ruthless killers. There are also plenty of female mooks, from priestess to women marauders, out for your blood.
  • Endless Game: The "Endless Mode", where you fight an unending stream of mooks consisting of all enemies from the game until you die.
  • Energy Bow: Raider archers alternates between using bows that fires regular arrows, and mechanical bows that fires bolts of laser that does more damage.
  • Flash Step: There's a special attack used in conjunction with the walking buttons allowing you to slide from one side of the screen to another, meant for dodging enemies when they surround you.
  • Gorn: The game have plenty these. Every time a mook is killed, expect plenty of blood and guts adorning the area, and what's even better is that slain enemies doesn't fade away, leaving the aftermath of each stage a glorious scene of massacre.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: For the flesh and blood enemies like raiders, some of them have a special death animation splitting from the waist when they die. Even if they're not killed by bladed weapons (like, say, the Brawler's fists).
  • Heel–Face Brainwashing: One that happened offscreen, but you can recruit one of the Attack Drone or Mecha-Mook enemies, captured and remodified, into becoming an Assist Character in certain stages.
  • Hellhound: Red, fire-breathing mutant hounds several times larger as normal dogs are another enemy type.
  • Land Mine Goes "Click!": There are stages with obvious-looking landmines that explodes if you step on, and they seem to be genetically created to hurt only you. Enemy mooks can simply waltze over these mines without any problems, and although they're left in plain sight, you're likely to accidentally trigger some of them while busy fending off hordes and hordes of raiders.
  • Living Gasbag: You'll face red, spiky, floating abominations now and then. If left idle for too long, these enemies can inflate themselves voluntarily and explode as an Action Bomb.
  • Mecha-Mooks: The robot factory stage is filled with robot enemies and drones, whose weapons alternate between Power Pincers or a Laser Blade from the right hand.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: The sorceress boss has six arms, and can spam projectiles from all six of her limbs throughout the fight.
  • No Name Given: None are provided for the plaayble characters, you're the Assassin, Gunslinger, Engineer, Brawler, Templar... also the boss of the robot factory is called The Manager.
  • Nothing but Skulls: The exterior of enemy raiders' camps are adorned with piles and piles of human skulls, and you learn later on that's the leftover from their meals.
  • Pedestrian Crushes Car: The first boss is an armoured truck with a turret manned by the raider's leader, who repeatedly charges at you in the boss area while dispensing mooks from it's back hatch. You defeat said truck with your melee attacks.
  • Power Floats: The Engineer class doesn't need to walk, simply floating a few feet in the air. There's also a female mook class who appears to be cybernetically enhanced like the Engineer and a few of the bosses, all capable of floating around.
  • Power Gives You Wings: For all character classes, with a power level high enough you get a set of holographic wings when activating your special attacks.
  • Robot Buddy: As soon as you start the game, you get a robot cat named Blip who serves as a Mission Control of sorts, contacting you regularly in-game to provide hints and directions.
  • Self-Duplication: The Manager boss in the faactory stage can divide himself into multiple copies to surround you around the arena and attack as a crowd to overwhelm you.
  • Smart Bomb: A special move all the characters can execute, which drains their power level but clears the screen of most enemies in a short while. The Assassin will twirl his sword in circles sending mooks flying, the Brawler does a Ground Pound knocking enemies off their feet, the Gunslinger empties two magazines and hits everyone within her vicinity, the Engineer reveals its arms to be two Lightning Guns and shocks everyone, etc.
  • Sword Beam: All the playable characters can fire crescent beams of energy from their weapons (except the Gunslinger, but then again she has guns) with a special button, though obviously that is harder to execute that punches, kicks or slashes. Even the Brawler whose weapon is a Power Fist (Fist beams?).
  • Sword Lines: All characters who use melee weapons displays these, especially the Assassin and the Templar whose swords can spam entire waves of crescent energy onscreen once they get busy swinging. The Brawler on the other hand utilizes fist lines.
  • Taken for Granite: The red-demon type mooks (both small and large) turn into statues once their life bars are depleted, and in areas that generates these opponents in large number expect the whole area to be cluttered with statues once you cleared all enemies.
  • Time Stands Still: Another power-up available in the game, which freezes onscreen enemies as you whittle away their ranks.
  • Title Drop: This line early in the game:
    "A dark force has awakened, plunging the world in Unending Dusk..."
  • Zerg Rush: Expect the screen to contain around a dozen enemies all at once from both sides of the screen. Frequently.
