Kick Ass Kin: Vs. Cuz is a Friday Night Funkin' mod created by AcrylicQueen and EvilsCorner. In this mod, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are on their way home after a late night date, when they're intercepted by Cuz, a demon hunter who's had their sights on Girlfriend for a while, but also happens to be Boyfriend's cousin.

Song List:

Week Cuz

  1. Grappler (Cuz vs. Boyfriend)
  2. Imminence (Cuz vs. Boyfriend)
  3. Equivocation (Cuz vs. Girlfriend)

Freeplay

  1. Exertion (Cuz vs. Girlfriend)

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Dye-Job: Girlfriend's outfit for her date night with Boyfriend is a black version of her dress and shoes with a matching bow. She wears her normal outfit in "Exertion".
  • Blood Knight: Cuz is determined to get Girlfriend no matter what, openly stating that they don't care that she and Boyfriend are dating.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Cuz makes use of their sword in "Equivocation" and "Exertion". Throughout both songs, exclamation point notes will appear, and the player must hit these notes to dodge Cuz's sword or else they'll lose a chunk of health.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Girlfriend tells Boyfriend her parents won't be home tonight, Boyfriend sees this as an opportunity for them to go watch a movie, when Girlfriend was actually trying to offer him sex. He catches on after she repeats herself.
  • Concept Art Gallery: Completing the bonus song "Exertion" unlocks a gallery containing Concept Art for the mod, primarly for Cuz's appearance, the background, and stills from the cutscenes.
  • Demon Hunter: Cuz. Unfortunately for Boyfriend, Girlfriend is their target, leading to the events of the mod.
  • Dissonant Serenity: One of the artwork from the "Private" section of the Gallery has Cuz suggest to their boyfriend to get Burger King with a smile on their face... after having just killed a demon (off-screen) and been stained in their blood in addition to getting a cut on their shoulder.
  • Hell Is That Noise: Girlfriend lets out some particularly unpleasant shrieks whenever an orange note is hit in "Exertion".
  • Hypocritical Humor: In the cutscene before "Equivocation", Girlfriend teases Cuz about how despite their work as a demon hunter, they themselves are in a relationship with a demon. She wasn't joking about it either, as a "Private" section of the Art Gallery the player unlocks after beating all the songs reveals the identity of said demon, named Malakai, who happens to be one of Daddy Dearest's henchmen. The artwork shows that he and Cuz are in a very loving relationship, even if he does annoy them sometimes.
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": Boyfriend's cousin is named Cuz.
  • Nightmare Face: Whenever the player hits an orange note in "Exertion", Girlfriend's face changes to a frightening expression consisting of a Jagged Mouth that glows red like her eyes, which have black blood leaking from them.
  • One-Winged Angel: When she's the player character, Girlfriend assumes her natural demon form, revealing her purple skin, black horns and glowing red eyes. While she willingly transforms for "Equivocation", she transforms in "Exertion" due to Cuz forcing her to.
  • Promoted to Playable: Girlfriend for "Equivocation" and "Exertion".
  • Seen It All: While fully aware that Cuz has been hunting her, Girlfriend is unfazed, since Cuz has been after her for months and yet still hasn't caught her. Girlfriend, if anything, is more annoyed at seeing them than anything else.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Boyfriend exclusively speaks in full sentences for this mod.
  • Surprisingly Creepy Moment: When the player hits an orange note for the first time in "Exertion", Girlfriend's screaming changes the background from a serene, sunny park to a hellish landscape with jagged rocks, a darkened sky, vegetation shaped like hands, ghoulish shadowy faces in the background, and the scattered remains of slayed demons. Also the park bench goes from brown to blood red. The background stays like this for the rest of the song.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Subverted. Cuz attempts to strike Girlfriend by throwing their sword at her in the opening cutscene, but Girlfriend dodges and the sword hits the pillar behind her instead. Cuz never attempts to throw the sword again after that.
  • Turns Red: Cuz is already in a bad mood from the start, but with every song they get angrier and angrier, culminating in them deciding to make use of their sword.
  • Wingding Eyes: During "Equivocation", Boyfriend has hearts for eyes as he watches Girlfriend rap battle Cuz.
