• Actor Allusion:
  • Merlin says at one point "Everything I've done has been for the greater good!" Sounds just like his old magical employer, or alternately, the the conspiracy that killed him for the "greater good" ("SHUT IT!"). John Rhys Davies's role as Sir Gallahad, the short, stocky Boisterous Bruiser of Camelot is also more likely than not a reference to his role as the short, stocky Boisterous Bruiser Gimli in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
  • This isn't the first time Douxie has been to Camelot.
• Ink-Suit Actor: Douxie bears a strong resemblance to his voice actor, Colin O'Donoghue.
• The Other Darrin: Ron Perlman was recast to Darin De Paul for Bular.
• Release Date Change: The series was originally scheduled for a late 2019 release before it was ultimately rescheduled to August 7, 2020.
• Saved from Development Hell: Wizards was originally scheduled for release in 2019 but missed that completely. The show's premiere was eventually delayed until August 2020.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Aja, Eli and Vex were originally going to appear in the miniseries, as their voice actors were mentioned in the official info for it but ultimately, they were absent in the final product, though their absences were likely to avoid revealing details for the upcoming film that will serve as the saga's Grand Finale.
  • The story was meant to be 20 episodes long, before being condensed down to 10.
    • Word of God admits that Wizards could've easily been consisted of four seasons since the story was so rich, but the creators decided to take a more "novelistic" approach, weaving between many storylines to give the audience "a delicious melange of story with all of them building to a shared climax", so they ultimately changed it into a limited series. In addition, with time travel involved, there's a lot they were able to do with hinting that cause, and effect could happen out of order.
  • Zoe was originally intended to have a larger role and even act as Douxie's love interest, before the story was cut down.
• Word of God: Jim, Douxie, and Claire are the generational mirrors of Arthur, Merlin, and Morgana, respectively.
