General

Spellbound

  • Everyone's reaction to Jim having a shard in his chest. Merlin said he had to put the Trollhunter in stasis.
  • Galahad sacrificing himself to give the others more time to escape from The Arcane Order.

History in the Making

Witch Hunt

  • Callista taking Jim to her old village, Tombro, which was ransacked by Arthur and his knights in their effort to expand his borders and rid his lands of magic. She is clearly hurt like she remembers that awful day she lost her home, her loved ones, and even her real troll name.
  • Arthur's reaction to cutting off Morgana's hand, causing her to fall to her death.

Lady of the Lake

Battle Royale

Killaheaad, Part One

  • When Merlin informs Jim that no one, not even he, can remove the onyx shard from his chest, and once he returns to the present, the shard will finish its process and corrupt his heart. Jim is neither angry nor calling him out. His voice tells him that he's sad that his time will be up soon, but readily accepts the truth.

Killahead, Part Two

  • Lancelot's death, which Steve witnesses.
  • For a second it looks like Morgana and Arthur will reconcile at Killahead... and then Bellroc stabs Arthur in the back. Morgana is devastated by this and pins her anger directly on her master, Merlin.
  • While preparing to get back home, Douxie is hesitant to tell Claire about Jim's fate, but Jim himself explains that he's ready to face the inevitable. Claire is devastated that there's no way to remove the shard and begs Douxie to help fine a way. Douxie is saddened, but promises he will find a way, once they return home.

Wizard Underground

  • Merlin's death and Douxie's reaction.

Dragon's Den

  • Douxie remembering the day Merlin saved him from being executed by the knights, and still heartbroken from the loss of the only father he ever knew.
  • Claire and Morgana nearly come to blows in the Shadow Realm; they reach an Enemy Mine with Teeth-Clenched Teamwork to find Jim and Arthur respectively. Morgana can't help but chuckle with fondness about how she trapped Claire here the first time.
  • Jim sees Claire while pacing the Killahead Bridge endlessly. He tries to reach out to her, but the Arcane Order's corruption takes over his mind.
  • Arthur reveals to Morgana that he is Not Brainwashed. Instead, the Arcane Order brought him clarity; he has committed too many crimes, and the world is broken. Thus, he must destroy it anyway and rebuild a new one, where he has a clean slate. He tries killing Morgana then and there, who is too stunned to fight back. Claire has to dive in and save her from Arthur, who rapidly gives chase.
Morgana: (In despair) Brother, what has become of us?
  • Charlie tells Douxie that the only way to find out where the Seals are is to burn Merlin's staff. Douxie obviously protests, and the two nearly come to blows. Archie calms them down, and Charlie says that you have to know when to let your loved ones go. Realizing they have no choice, Douxie holds up the staff and says in a cold, heartbroken voice, to do it.

Our Final Act

  • Thanks to the Arcane Order invading Hex Tech, Ricky's head shuts down after replaying a video feed of the fight. Krel looks anguished about having to leave his father behind to stop the Arcane Order, even if he can rebuild Ricky.
  • Morgana and Arthur have a tormenting discussion as they fight to the death. Arthur said he brought Morgana back because he wanted to give her what she wanted, a world without the pain that came to them. Morgana is forced to admit, while mortally wounded, that she was wrong and that their time on Earth is over. She says farewell to him, removes Excalibur from his hands, and crushes them both with the remains of Camelot.
  • After the Green Knight is killed and his hold over Jim is broken, the Trollhunter turns to stone because it is daylight. Between Claire's pained sobbing, Toby breaking down at the sight of his best friend, and Blinky quietly going "Master Jim," it seems as though Jim is really gone. Then one of Claire's tears falls on Jim, causing the stone to crumble and return Jim to his human form, turning this into a heartwarming tearjerker. Furthermore, while Jim has lost the Amulet of Light, he could be worthy of wielding the great sword Excalibur sometime in the future.
  • Jim is almost awed that he's human again, able to walk in the sun and live without armor. But he questions his purpose and who he is if he's not the Trollhunter anymore.
Jim: But without the amulet... am I still the Trollhunter?
  • The Surprisingly Realistic Outcome of what happens when you blow yourself up with fire, fall thousands of feet from the sky, and land on the ground with no protection. Douxie commits a Heroic Suicide to blow up the Arcane Order, landing with a Sickening "Crunch!". It sounds like he died on impact. Nari tries in vain to reach him in time but can only stop when she sees the crash. When Merlin orders Douxie to return to the mortal realm and protect it, Douxie wakes up coughing and moaning in pain.
