And of course, Nigel is Jemaine. The role association is most apparent during his Villain Song, which has a certain FOTC flavor (probably because Jemaine Clement helped write it).
No bonus points as to whom Rafael Calvo wound up voicing in European Spanish... Rafael.
Type Casting: Guilherme Briggs, the Brazilian voice of Nigel, had also voiced another Blue Sky villain: Phineas T. Ratchet (in Brazil Dom Aço, literally "Don Steel") from Robots. Of course, he doesn't always voice villains: he's voiced Freakazoid, Superman and Coop, but one who knows his work really cannot deny that he shines real bright as a villain (hence the parallel with Norio Wakamoto).
What Could Have Been: A funny case in that it doesn't involve the film, but is related to it: this film's very existence actually caused an unrelated film by Pixar to be cancelled by virtue of wanting to avoid Dueling Movies. It was to be called Newt and apparently had roughly the same plot.
