, Director Masashi Ishihama claimed there would be a surprise that would deviate from the game's story, but it never came to pass, at least not as the phrasing implied. It's true that hearing Akechi's voice cheer the Phantom Thieves on against Yaldabaoth never happened in the actual game, but it didn't actually change the result of anything. - No Export for You: The Proof of Justice and A Magical Valentine's Day OVAs have never been legally subbed and are missing entirely from the complete Blu-ray set released for the English dub.
- The Other Darrin:
- Due to the passing of Miyu Matsuki and Kazunari Tanaka before the anime went to production, Chihaya Mifune and Junya Kaneshiro are respectively voiced by Haruka Terui and Takahiro Fujimoto.
- Like in Royal, Tae Takemi is now voiced by Abby Trott in the English dub rather than Kirsten Potter. This is because the latter moved away from California at the time.
- Shinya Oda is voiced by Eden Riegel (who also voices Hifumi Togo) instead of Barbara Goodson.
- Throw It In!: According to Max Mittelman, he ad-libbed Ryuji shouting "YEET!" when throwing Morgana before escaping Kaneshiro's palace.
