- Acting for Two: Slime Speedway features a few characters who share actors with each other:
- Tom Kenny as Dog and both versions of SpongeBob.
- Bill Fagerbakke as both versions of Patrick.
- Billy West as Ren and Stimpy.
- Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy and Cindy.
- Jessica DiCicco as Lucy and Chuckie.
- Fred Tatasciore as both versions of Reptar.
- Rob Paulsen as both versions of Raphael.
- Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Slime Speedway features an almost entirely Los Angeles-based voice cast with the sole exception of the Vancouver-based Vincent Tong as Zuko.
- Follow the Leader:
- The first game's vehicle transformation system apes Mario Kart 8 and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, as the gliding is based on the former and the boating on the latter.
- The second game takes some cues from Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, notably in how it removes transformations to focus on pure kart racing and has a similar interface design.
- The third game takes cues from fellow Nickelodeon crossover Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl with its newcomer selection featuring characters from Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and Garfieldnote alongside preexisting franchises getting expanded with Toph, Powdered Toast Man, and April O'Neil, and replacing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) representation with that of the '87 series and the Mirage comics.
- Invisible Advertising: The games tend to receive very little advertising or promotion, usually being relegated to one or two short trailers right before they come out.
- No Budget: The first two games are visibly made on a shoestring budget, which shows in the characters' Limited Animation and lack of voice acting. (This may also explain why the Double Dare (1986)-themed track uses a soundalike to Edd Kalehoff's music.)
- The Other Darrin:
- Although Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl cast Dustin Sardella as Aang a few months before Slime Speedway was released, he was recast again with Davis Pak.
- Vincent Tong replaces Dante Basco as Zuko. In a broader sense, Tong also replaces Stephen Fu, who voiced Zuko in Smite.
- Jessica DiCicco replaces Nancy Cartwright as Chuckie. In a broader sense, DiCicco also replaces Candi Milo, who voiced Chuckie in Rugrats: Royal Ransom.
- With Slime Speedway being released five years after Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie, Ramone Hamilton is the third voice actor to take on the role of Gerald to fulfill the character's Children Voicing Children mandate, after Jamil Walker Smith and Benjamin "Lil' P-Nut" Flores. Zane VanWicklyn reprises Arnold from Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis for the same reason.
- As with Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Alex Cazares, Vivian Vencer, Abby Trott, and David Kaye are the voices of Oblina, Toph, April O'Neil, and Powdered Toast Man respectively, rather than Christine Cavanaugh, Jessie Flower, Renae Jacobs, and Gary Owens.
- Eastman and Laird Raphael being a reskin of 1987 Raphael and consequently sharing all of his voicelines makes Rob Paulsen the third voice actor of Mirage Raphael following Sean Schemmel (Turtles Forever) and Mark Whitten (Smite, being the exact same case as this game in that its Mirage Raph is a reskin of Hi-Rez Studios' original Smite-exclusive interpretation of Raph).
- Production Lead Time: The game uses the 2012 turtles, even though it was released after Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had already begun. Curiously, the sequel still uses their 2012 designs rather than updating them to tie in with Rise. The third game averts this by using their designs from the 1987 series.
- Role Reprise:
- As with Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Slime Speedway features most of the original or current actors reprising their roles, such as Tom Kenny as SpongeBob and Dog, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy, Carlos Alazraqui as Rocko, Jim Cummings as Cat, Janice Kawaye as Jenny, Frank Welker as Garfield, Fred Tatasciore as Reptar, David Kaufman as Danny, Cam Clarke as Leonardo, Townsend Coleman as Michelangelo, Francesca Marie Smith as Helga, Janet Varney as Korra, Bentley Griffin as Lincoln, Jessica DiCicco as Lucy, Richard Steven Horvitz as Zim and Billy West as Ren and Stimpy.
- Slime Speedway also brings back Rodger Bumpass as Squidward, Jill Talley as Squidina, Debi Derryberry as Jimmy Neutron, Carolyn Lawrence as Cindy, Cree Summer as Susie, Rob Paulsen as Raphael, Barry Gordon as Donatello, Gregg Berger as Odie, Jaedan White as Clyde and Rosearik Rikki Simons as GIR.
- Alex Cazares, Vivian Vencer, Abby Trott, and David Kaye all reprise their roles as Oblina, Toph, April O'Neil, and Powdered Toast Man respectively from All-Star Brawl.
- Zane VanWicklyn reprises Arnold from Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis.
- Swan Song: Slime Speedway marked Janet Varney's final time voicing Korra, choosing to step down from voicing her as she was vocal on having a woman of color to take over for her.
- What Could Have Been:
- A developer interview suggested the first game would have gotten Downloadable Content if it sold well enough. Due to the game's poor reviews, nothing of the sort actually happened, though the game would get two sequels, with the third game actually receiving DLC in the form of the Turbo Pack.
- Images of U.S. Acres crew members can be found in Slime Speedway's data but they're Dummied Out, suggesting they were trying to include it for being the other half of Garfield and Friends but could only get the Garfield license. Baby Pearl from Kamp Koral was also meant to be a crew member at some point.
