- Actor Allusion: In the English dub, the announcer in Super Smash Swamp Pants Brothers is Xander Mobus, who also voices the announcer in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- From the Latin American dub:
- Komi is voiced by Jessica Ángeles, who also voiced Princess Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Komi just so happens to pick the Zelda Expy when playing "Super Smash Swamp Pants Bros".
- On episode 11, the narrator (Cristina Hernández) says Sailor Moon's transformation catchphrase. Hernández voiced Chibiusa.
- On episode 21, two random kids in a flashback are turned into Valt Aoi and Dante Koryu, being voiced by Luis Leonardo Suárez and Diego Becerril respectively, and are heard yelling "Let it rip!".
- From the Latin American dub:
- Cross-Dressing Voices: Non-binary actor Casey Mongillo voices Cool Big Sis Onemine.
- Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Starting with season 2, the Latin American Spanish dub, aside of having voice actors from Mexico, also features actors from Chile (Lucia Suarez as Kato), Argentina (Alejandro Graue as a tourist that appears at ep. 17) and Peru (Pilar Soto, who does random voices).
- Directed by Cast Member: In the Castilian Spanish dub, Albert Trifol Segarra, besides voicing Tadano, is also the ADR director.
- Follow the Leader: As the manga gained popularity, other Romantic Comedy manga based around the premise of a girl with a disability/disorder/problematic quirk being helped out by their male classmate who has feelings for them began popping up, some notable examples being The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses and Dignified Asleep Saeki.
- Playing Against Type:
- Gakuto Kajiwara is known for playing Hot-Blooded Stock Shonen Heroes, most infamously Asta, but also others like Shinra Kusakabe and Liu Bei Unicorn Gundam. While he also has his moments, Tadano Hitohito is a lot more calmer and down-to-earth than any of Gakuto's other roles.
- The sweet motherly supportive but Genki Girl Shuuko Komi's Japanese VA Kikuko Inoue also voices the brash villainous I-No, or calmer Yamato Nadeshiko characters. I-No's English VA Amber Lee Connors also voices her quiet and mousey daughter Shouko Komi.
- Posthumous Credit: Scott Page-Pagter (who was best known for producing over 300 episodes of Power Rangers) did the script adaptation for the English dub before his death from cancer on December 5, 2021.
- Queer Character, Queer Actor:
- In the English dub, the androgynous Najimi is voiced by non-binary voice actor Skyler Davenport.
- The same happens, in some degree, in the Latin American Spanish dub, as Najimi is voiced by bisexual voice actress Azul Valadez.
- Real-Life Relative:
- In the Castilian Spanish dub, Tadano and Najimi's voice actors, Albert Trifol Segarra and Nuria Trifol, are siblings in Real Life.
- In the English dub, Komi and Kometani's voice actors, Amber Lee Connors and Howard Wang, are a Real Life married couple.
- Swan Song: It was one of the final works for Scott Page-Pagter, who worked as an ADR writer for the English dub. He succumbed to cancer on December 5, 2021, shortly before the first season ended.
- What Could Have Been:
- Tomohito Oda revealed in an interview that his original concept for the series would've actually seen Komi be a male with a Communication Disorder, but his editor convinced him that a female character would work better for the story. This could potentially make Wakai Takenori, a new student introduced in the 3rd year as something of a Development Gag.
- Unlike the main series, the oneshot shows that, while Komi can't communicate with people in general, she's shown to be a complete offbeat chatterbox when talking to Tadano in private. This characterization resembles Agari's Serious Business when talking about restaurants in the main series. This characterization was later transposed partially to the character Kawaii Rami, Tadano's past middle school crush.
