• Actor-Shared Background:
  • Anton Castillo is of mixed race just like his voice and motion capture actor Giancarlo Esposito.
  • Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, who plays Philly, is an actual Afro-Cuban in real life.
• Ascended Extra: A behind the scenes example. Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz was eventually brought onboard as a writer to help with depicting Yara as a Captain Ersatz for Cuba.
• Celebrity Voice Actor: Anton Castillo is played by Giancarlo Esposito, while his son is played by Anthony Gonzalez (who voiced Miguel Rivera in Coco).
• Content Leak: Days before its official reveal, the cover art and trailer for the game got leaked to the internet.
• The Other Darrin: Sadly, many of the voice actors for the supporting characters in the "Become the Villain" DLCs did not return to reprise their roles, including James A. Woods as Ajay Ghale, Seamus Dever as John Seed, Mark Pellegrino as Jacob Seed and Jessica Grant as Faith Seed (though in this case, Faith is represented by the many Faiths before her).
• Role Reprise: Michael Mando, Troy Baker, and Greg Bryk all return to voice Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed for the Season Pass DLC. As for the supporting characters, Gianpaolo Venuta returns as Jason Brody, Faye Kingslee as Citra Talugmai, and Martin Roach as Pastor Jerome Jeffries.
• Schedule Slip: Was supposed to release on February 18th, 2021, but was pushed back to October 7.
