  • Dani does a Not Quite the Right Thing by attempting to help a young boy escape Yara by giving him the seat of their dead friend Alejo by claiming that the boy was his family. The smuggler knows Alejo was an orphan but is willing to let it slide. Unfortunately, this boy is Diego Castillo and it becomes an Unwitting Instigator of Doom moment.
  • Julio says, "I'm coming, Lita" right before he's beaten to death. This is a real Face Death with Dignity and Together in Death moment. Also doubles as a Tearjerker.
  • The discovery that Camila recruited you for a full-frontal assault on an FND construction site and laboratory to rescue her brother Alejandro. The fact it's an Unwanted Rescue doesn't change how much love she has for her family.
  • Carlos Montero tells his daughter that he is A Father to His Men and that he is going to ride to their rescue even though it is an obvious trap. It is something that leaves a powerful impression on her.
  • Carlos making a Heroic Sacrifice to save Alejandro from the bomb that has been tied to him. It proves he is every bit the Big Good that the region needed as well as the Inspirational Martyr to galvanize the revolution.
  • The opportunity to pet all of your amigos but the cockfighting rooster.
  • Chorizo is a walking heartwarming moment as he's such a happy little dog despite being crippled.
    • Chorizo has a taste for alligator meat that you can go hunting for, that you can feed him for. It will also result in Chorizo sharing his stash of buried goodies.
    • Chorizo distracting troops with his cuteness so you can murder them is a wonderful funny as well as heartwarming example of Black Comedy.
  • In "Dead Drop", Diego kills one of his father's generals in order to protect Dani from torture and death. He also swears he'll do what his father wants and be El Presidente to do it so long as Dani goes free. Anton Castillo is so shocked by the event, he actually gives Dani a chance to escape (albeit on the condition they survive him burning their cell).
    • There's also a moment where Juan and Dani share a heart-to-heart where the latter states they know Juan so well that they have heard all of his stories before.
Dani: I think we're family now.
  • The map has pictures of graves for any important Libertad allies who died, to honor the fallen. No kind treatment for the assholes, though. Post-Game, Diego is given a grave, despite the fact that he was firmly on the Castillos' side, because he sympathized with the rebels, tried to positively support both sides as best he could, and was murdered by his own family for it.

    Insanity

    Control
  • Pagan's visions of Ishwari, Ajay, and Lakshmana sitting down for dinner together. They're casually chatting like a normal family, and Ajay gets along just fine with his sister. Oh, what could have been..
    • The very idea that Pagan's entire motivation in this episode is to fight off all of the people he sees as wronging him so that he can be with his family in the afterlife is beautiful, and really speaks to the good deep down in Pagan's heart. He is without a doubt an evil madman, but he genuinely loves Ishwari, Ajay, and Lakshmana to bits and all he ever wanted was to be a happy family with them.
  • Ajay, outside of Pagan's visions, shows up as an enemy, but with one notable feature: he appears as himself, with none of the corruptions that the "Tainted Path" tends to have, such as the hideous blotches of paint or any other deformity. This is meant to represent how, in Far Cry 4, no matter what Ajay does to ruin his operation, Pagan still sees him as his golden child and holds no ill will towards him.
  • Lakshmana is represented by a hypothetical older version of her. She is the sweetest girl in the whole wide world and loves her daddy to death. At the same time, her purpose in Pagan's ironic hell is to insist that he's done nothing wrong and that he's just a victim in his story, so even she contributes to torturing him in a way.

    Collapse
  • Joseph is genuinely remorseful for all his sins and sees himself as horribly wrong for his actions leading up to the Collapse. He even has the gall to call out "The Voice", whom he believes to be God Himself, for "lying" to him, ruining his life and the lives of his loved ones. Throughout the DLC, we see him tortured by and sincerely apologizing to Faith, John, Jacob, Pastor Jerome, and he even has somewhat of a soft side towards the Junior Deputy, of whom he deems his "Judge".
