  • Adventure Time:
    • In "Wizard Battle", Finn lets out a Big "NO!" so big it knocks out Abracadaniel, earning Finn victory in the eponymous Wizard Battle. It also earns him mockery for using a Power Shriek, "the most shameful form of magic."
    • "You Made Me!" introduces the Earl of Lemongrab's "Sound Sword", a device powered by his own harsh screaming that fires concentrated sonic waves at enemies.
  • Parodied in Avatar: The Last Airbender during "The Ember Island Players" when the actor portraying an exaggeration of Toph reveals that he uses his voice to see, rather than his feet like the actual Toph did.
Toph Player: I see everything that you see, except I don't see like you do. I release a sonic wave from my mouth. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! There. I got a pretty good look at you.
  • In The Backyardigans, Sea Squirt gains his courage to face against the giant clam by letting out two incredibly loud sonic screams, driving the clam away.
  • One of the villains on Batman Beyond named Shriek was a sound engineer whose Powered Armor gave him several sound-related abilities, including a shockwave from ultra-low frequency sound waves.
  • In the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode, "Mayhem of The Music Meister", Black Canary is the only one who can disrupt the titular villain's Mind Control because her Canary Cry can be provoked when it is lyrically appropriate to do so.
  • Ben 10's Benwolf form, later given the official moniker Blitzwolfer in Ben 10: Omniverse, has a supersonic howl.
  • Horribly and hilariously used in Celebrity Deathmatch. Mariah Carey's singing makes Jim Carrey's head explode. Literally. This may have been a Shout-Out to a In Living Color! sketch where Carrey played Michael Bolton and blows his own head up with the intensity of his singing.
    • In another episode, Jerry Stiller's shouting had powerful concussive force.
  • In an episode of Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, the gang go up against the Queen of the Banshees, who's been imprisoning the leprechauns of Ireland to mine gold for her. Her strongest weapon is her wail, which generates ring-shaped waves of focused energy that can splinter trees, shatter stone, and likely batter living things to death. The only thing that is unaffected by her scream is gold, which the Rangers use to their advantage by making a large curved tube that funnels one of her attack attempts right back at her.
  • Used in Courage the Cowardly Dog, when Courage's 41-second-long scream breaks the foundations of his house and sends a villain team up falling into the resulting hole.
  • Danny Phantom's Ghostly Wail, which sounds like a legion of tortured souls all moaning and groaning at once.
  • In a Wing Dings blackout, Dick Dastardly invokes the line as he protests the squadron's lack of activity during some downtime. He shouts "IT'S SO QUIET YOU CAN HEAR A PIN DROP!!", followed by Muttley rolling a bowling ball at a pin which knocks Dastardly out cold. Zilly quips, "That's one pin he didn't hear!"
  • The dragon Feathers from Dragons: The Nine Realms has this.
  • Dragons: Riders of Berk: A few dragons have sound-based abilities rather than fire breath.
    • The Thunderdrum is an aquatic dragon that blasts its enemies with a concussive soundwave. To compensate for its own volume, it's hard of hearing or nearly deaf as a result.
    • The Screaming Death is a mutant Whispering Death that can disorient other dragons, even Thunderdrums, with its ungodly scream.
    • The Large Shadow Wing or the Alpha Shadow’s roar can stun their prey, and this also acts as a signal to call the Small Shadow Wings to its location.
  • In one episode, Eek! The Cat tries to get the lemons while climbing on a lemon tree at Sharky's backyard, but fails and eventually falls into a thorn bush, which prompts him to scream so loud that the camera shakes and the lemons fall off of the tree and bury him.
  • El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera: When Manny meets his ancestor, the original El Tigre, in the Land of the Dead, the latter reveals several powers that Manny has yet to discover, including a tiger roar that can literally blow the roof off a house.
  • Vavoom from the Felix the Cat (Joe Oriolo) cartoons has this as his main character trait. His voice is strong enough to shatter boulders, create avalanches and drill tunnels through solid rock. In Vavoom Learns How To Fish, a man tries to trap Vavoom under a garbage can and sit on it, but Vavoom uses his voice to blow him away so hard, that according to bystanders with telescopes, he’s been sent flying into orbit.
  • In Filmation's Ghostbusters, the team's bat companion Belfry can do this.
  • The Sadly Mythtaken Banshee — that's her name; she's one of The Fair Folk — in Gargoyles had deadly wailing as her power. Plus she turns into a giant centipede.
  • The Garfield and Friends segment "Screaming with Binky" revolves around Binky The Clown disturbing someone who is doing an activity that requires concentration.
  • The EVO Circee in Generator Rex can shout with varying intensity at most any frequency. The can knock people back, create horrible noises, and hit resonance frequencies to shake things apart.
    • It was said that in an off-scene incident, she accidentally hit the natural resonance frequency of cotton and blew a bus driver's pants off.
  • Justice League:
    • This is Black Canary's only power (see the page image).
    • The minor villain Colonel Vox had this power and couldn't turn it off, and so required a mechanical voice box for regular speech. He's basically a pastiche of a Bond henchman, so it comes as no surprise that this ultimately gets him when it comes time for the karma to kick in.
  • Kaeloo: Both Bad Kaeloo and Mr. Cat can yell loud enough to send people flying into the air.
  • Yaarp (Experiment 613) from Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise is designed to emit really loud and deafening sonic blasts from the foghorn-like antenna on his head. In his debut episode of Lilo & Stitch: The Series, he made Stitch, who has super hearing, go temporarily deaf with a sonic blast. Only Pleakley could be able to capture him because the Plorgonarian relies on his antennae for hearing, making him immune to the experiment's sonic blasts. Thankfully, Yaarp is also a friendly sort once he reforms, as he makes adorable gentle honks when he feels happy and safe
  • Kion of The Lion Guard has a Mighty Roar version of this, known as the "Roar of the Elders", which is powerful enough to send his enemies flying away.
  • One of Megas' many, many superweapons on Megas XLR is the Jammer, a weaponized karaoke machine that, when combined with Coop's godawful singing, is strong enough to destroy a whole space station.
  • One episode of Mighty Max featured an indestructible Norse god Max nicknamed "Lockjaw" due to his jaw literally being locked shut for good reason: he had this trope for an ability, and he's chasing them for the key to unlock his jaw. Unable to destroy him due to his immortality, Max eventually figured out a way to turn his power against him, and allowing him to uncork his full fury in a landslide zone, causing massive debris to bury and contain him.
  • Dutch's car Whiptail in Motorcity is able to do this.
  • Screemplay, in MP4orce, has screaming as a sonic attack as her primary power in virtual form.
  • My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: In "The Crystalling, Part 1", Baby Flurry Heart throws a tantrum when she is separated from Pinkie Pie and unleashes an amplified wail that destroys the Crystal Heart!
  • The Owl House: Midway through Season 2, King develops the ability to unleash a sonic scream. It's presumably a trait held by all Titans, since Luz gets a similar power when she becomes half-Titan following her Climactic Battle Resurrection in the Grand Finale.
  • The Peter Potamus Show: Peter Potamus uses his "hippo hurricane holler" to blow away enemies or to provide exhaust for his balloon.
  • PJ Masks: The Wolfy Kids can create sonic waves with their howl. Octobella can also create sonic waves with her voice when underwater.
  • Bubbles learns to use this as part of her communication powers in The Powerpuff Girls.
  • Marina's best friend and Animal Sidekick Winnie the Seahorse in Saban's Adventures of the Little Mermaid can yell so loud that makes the enemies fade.
  • SheZow has his/her Sonic Scream power (the strongest out of all of powers), it can do anything from breaking every piece of glass within a five mile radius, to destroying really big boogers, to being a pinpoint concussive blast.
  • Subverted in The Simpsons, when Lisa trains her voice for an "American Idol" competition. Just after she appears to break a glass by hitting a high note, the camera pans out and Homer says that he was shooting the glass with a BB gun every time she did so.
    • In another episode, Homer unleashes a loud "D'oh!" that causes considerable damage throughout town.
Train Conductor: I told 'em to make these tracks D'oh-proof!
  • In Star Wars: Clone Wars, Ithorian Jedi Master Roron Corobb was able to let loose a roar from his dual mouths that bowled over General Greivous' assassin droids and nearly knocked over Grievous himself. (But he was winded for a few minutes after doing so.) Given what Shaak-Ti said, this sort of thing is common to Ithorians, but Corobb's was amplified by his Jedi skills, making it "as powerful as any Force blast".
  • Talon on Static Shock. One-off villain Boom has something like this — he emits powerful soundwaves from the giant speaker on his chest.
  • Steven Universe: In "Change Your Mind", a pink version of Steven forms from his gem after White Diamond removes it from him, and his yell manages to blow even everyone (even White) back and creates a small crater around him. Steven Universe: Future reveals this was another power Pink Diamond possessed, which she apparently stopped using when she accidentally scarred her first Pearl.
  • Antauri's and later Chiro's Monkey Mind Scream from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!.
  • Totally Spies!: In "Evil Heiress Much?", the titular villain had a robotic chihuahua that could emit supersonic barks, causing people (and the girls) to fall unconscious without earplugs.
  • Transformers: Animated Starscream apparently can develop one of these. Although even he's not sure how he did it.
    • Also, Soundwave from The Transformers, as fitting both his name and radio alt mode. Thundercracker had this power in the Marvel comic.
      • Frenzy has this ability as well.
    • Soundwave has demonstrated this ability in Transformers: Prime as well.
    • Plus the appropriately-named Nightscream in Beast Machines.
  • In The Venture Bros., Klaus Nomi, one of the bodyguards of the Sovereign of the Guild of Calamitous Intent (really a shapeshifter impersonating David Bowie), has this as his power.
  • Elsa the ghost angelfish from "Wake, Rattle, and Roll" can cause people to go flying and objects to break with her shouting.
  • Winx Club have Musa, Fairy of the Music, who have shown to be able of create sonic waves strong enogh to knock out a gryphon...of the size of a spaceship.
  • Young Samson and Goliath. When the dog Goliath is changed to his lion form, he can make a roar that selectively destroys objects in the nearby area.
