  • Kick the Dog:
    • Whereas canon "Lady Wifi" at least gave Chloé the excuse of her privacy being violated, here, she forces the principal to suspend Alya for a week simply because she's mad at the very idea that Alya suspected Marinette was Scarlet Lady.
    • After tricking Mme. Bustier into forcing the class to invite her to the party they're planning, Chloé is disappointed to learn that the party is actually Marinette's birthday party. Rather than just not go, though, Chloé attends anyway and tries to sabotage it.
    • In "Princess Fragrance," Chloé rudely refuses a sick Tikki's request to be taken to a healer, telling the Kwami to "suck it up" because she doesn't want her school attendance ruined (ignoring the fact that it was already ruined by her outings as Scarlet Lady, as well as what happened in "Vanisher").
  • Kidnapped by an Ally: In "Princess Fragrance", Marinette and Pollen see the visibly sick Tikki with an uncaring Chloe. While Pollen knows that Tikki is Chloe/Scarlet Lady's Kwami, Marinette assumes that Chloe stole Tikki while she was sick and vulnerable (Pollen says nothing due to the rules). Thus, Marigold has to practically kidnap Tikki to take her to Master Fu so she can be healed. Tikki, naturally, is okay with this (both because she more-or-less knew what they were doing and because Marinette was supposed to be the holder of the Ladybug Miraculous.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All:
    • Jalil fancies himself an expert in all things Egyptian but takes significant liberties with the source material, much to the frustration of his father and sister.
    • Downplayed with D'Argencourt, who's a genuinely talented fencer but doesn't seem to know the actual rules of the sport as well as he thinks. When Kagami fights Adrien for a spot on the fencing team, D'Argencourt praises their match as being "real fencing" and is seemingly unaware that Kagami made several blatantly illegal moves. In contrast, Marinette, who is completely new to the sport, instantly recognizes that Kagami shoving Adrien off the mat is a "corps-a-corps" and points out that according to the rules, the bout should have stopped then.
    • Similar to D'Argencourt, Kagami could be considered a minor example of this due to her deliberately using various moves that are not allowed in the sport she professes to be good at. It's not helped by how she seems to think fencing without machines is a good idea on the grounds that it allows for more freedom when it really means giving up an impartial judge.

  • Lame Pun Reaction:
    • How Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir meet:
Chat Noir: Well, nice of you to drop in!
Scarlet Lady: [face scrunched up] Omigod, no.
    • Stormy Weather has this shortly after Chat Noir defeats her:
Chat Noir: You're grounded, Stormy Weather.
Stormy Weather: Omigod, no. Just end me please.
    • In "Copycat," Marinette uses the Lucky Charm spoon to make a rudimentary fishing pole, and states that she may not be able to take Copycat down, but she can take him up. Scarlet just boos at her.
    • When Marinette says that getting back in time to give Nadja her cake order will be a "piece of cake," her mother retorts, "How dare you pun at me."
  • Landslide Election: The Weather Girl competition was this, with Alec telling Aurore that she lost by "half a million votes. Or was it a million votes?" Turns out they rigged it, deliberately inflating the numbers and only making Mireille merch.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Oh so much:
    • While Scarlet Lady successfully steals the credit for all of Chat Noir's hard work in "Origins," her mistreatment of her partner makes Adrien much less patient with her antics in either identity, and he promptly hits Chloé with an ultimatum: shape up or lose his friendship. He delivers on it in "Despair Bear", making it clear that he wants nothing to do with her ever again (not that she understands that she's the problem).
    • Alec taunts Aurore after she loses the contest, rubbing in her face just how much Mireille won by. This doesn't end well for him once Stormy Weather is born, nor does rigging the contest in the first place once Mireille reveals the truth on social media and triggers a backlash against him and the studio. Later episodes establish that Aurore has Alec wrapped around her finger because of this.
    • At the end of "Lady Wifi," Tikki hides Chloé's diamond scrunchie and ruins her curling iron to get back at Chloé for getting Alya suspended earlier. Likewise, Principal Damocles caving so easily to Chloé's demands results in Marlena Césaire calling the school, furious that the school handed down such a serious punishment on her daughter without even contacting her; this leads to Alya's suspension being lifted.
    • In "Mr. Pigeon," Chloé gets caught plagiarizing Marinette's entry for the design contest because she unwittingly also copied Marinette's signature that was hidden in the design. This, as well as her her attempt to scapegoat Sabrina, earns her stony rebukes from Gabriel, Damocles, and Nathalie and gets her instantly disqualified and banned from all future competitions related to the Gabriel brand.
    • "The Pharaoh" has Alya shove Alix aside so she can get closer to Scarlet Lady, only to get promptly bumped aside herself by Jalil.
    • Chloé gets this again in "Rogercop." After all the grief she caused Marinette, she is forced by her father to apologize to her favorite bullying victim while Marinette and Chat Noir enjoy it. Her making her father fire Roger for not breaking the law to cater to her demands also results in Sabrina having a Broken Pedestal relationship with Chloé, which only gets worse over time. Lastly, she's set herself up for further humiliation once Roger and Sabrina discover that the mayor never actually had the authority to fire Roger.
    • Max losing his place in the Ultimate Mecha Strike III tournament is presented as this: he's using coded combos, which arguably counts as cheating, and it's made clear that he's been showing off due to expecting to easily trounce everyone else. He scoffs at both Adrien and Marinette, assuming that neither poses any threat, only to be beaten by them both, fair and square.
    • After Chloé locks Juleka in the bathroom to take her place next to Adrien, he repays Chloé's clinginess by shoving her off him. Later, Juleka's akumatization into Reflekta distracts Chloé long enough for Marinette to both delete the incriminating video of herself and get away with the camera chip containing the class photo she wants to delete.
    • In "Timebreaker," Scarlet Lady decides to not even bother fighting the villain and stay out of reach until the akuma's defeated. When Marinette calls her out on this and threatens to expose her laziness, Scarlet confronts her, which allows Timebreaker to touch the Ladybug heroine. This also doubles as a bit of karmic backlash for her actions in "The Gamer": after all of her efforts to get Marinette temporarily killed, she gets wiped out by an akuma.
    • Tom and Sabine decide against doing any favors for Nadja in the foreseeable future after the reporter acts like an Obnoxious Entitled Housewife in "Timebreaker," demanding she be given her cake (which Tom and Sabine were already making for her as a favor on a day the bakery is closed) ahead of the scheduled pickup time, just because she arrived early.
    • At the beginning of "Simon Says," Alec screws over Simon by disqualifying him for something the latter had absolutely no control over (Gabriel refusing to participate in the game). At the end, Nino is challenged to pick two celebrities and get them to dance to his music, and he picks his own friends, Alya and Adrien, removing any sense of challenge. When Alec tries to complain, Nino silences him by reminding the host of the Simon screw job and calling Alec out on his hypocrisy.
    • Scarlet Lady's Jerkass personality bites her in the rear at the end of "Anansi" when she antagonizes Koki Marina for no reason beyond her own amusement, unaware she's burning bridges with a major media figure who was responsible for her good PR and, up until that point, had been one of her staunchest remaining supporters. The episode's ending shows Alya compiling a dossier about how much of a failure Scarlet Lady is as a heroine.
    • In "Desperada," Adrien takes advantage of the Snake Miraculous's Second Chance to get some retribution for everything Scarlet Lady's put him through, getting her hit by Desperada multiple times. He even tells her that he's Chat Noir just to see her horrified face.
    • Chloé triggers Tomoe's akumazation into Ikari Gozen by gleefully tattling to her about Kagami's disobedience just to get her rival in trouble. Immediately afterwards, Chloé finds herself devoured by the Kaiju-sized villain and once again helpless to "show off" as Scarlet Lady. She also ends up drenched in soapy water when Ikari Gozen later vomits her out.
    • Bob Roth in "Crocoduel" after Jagged and Anarka realize that Bob had forged Dear John Letters to split them up when Anarka told Bob she was pregnant. Jagged promptly has Penny send a letter of resignation to the sleazy record dealer, who presumably has just run up a Shockingly Expensive Bill at a fancy restaurant right when his record company is about to take a huge hit.
    • Scarlet Lady's Skewed Priorities bite her hard during "Zombizou," as when it's down to her and Marinette, she attempts to ensure Marinette gets kissed instead of focusing on defeating the zombies. This leads to her getting kissed instead, allowing Marinette to get away.
  • Last-Second Chance: During the final showdown with Hawkmoth, Ladybug offers Chloé one last chance to fight alongside them and help take down Hawkmoth. Unfortunately, Hawkmoth jumps the heroes before she can respond.
  • Lemony Narrator: The comments made under the comics serve as this, responding to the events in the comics with varying degrees of snark (such as chiding Adrien for barely getting any sort of cover before transforming).
  • Let Me Get This Straight...: Chloé's reaction when Tikki tells her she must get the book Adrien and Lila have.
Chloé: So, what you're saying is, I have to spy on her and Adrien?
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: In "Kung Food," Marinette is surprised when Adrien says he will go look for her uncle and asks why they shouldn't stay together. He suggests that she try to flag down Chat Noir. Foreshadowing Marinette's future hero role, the author says, "She's gonna miss these easy separations in the future."
  • Likes Clark Kent, Hates Superman:
    • Chloé's very fond of her dear Adrikins, but can't stand Chat Noir because he's so disrespectful towards Scarlet Lady.
    • Downplayed with Adrien; his experiences with Scarlet Lady make him much more critical of Chloé's faults, to the point that he calls her out in "Origins Part 2" and declares that if she's going to act like a bully, they won't be friends anymore. In other words, her behavior as Scarlet Lady has made him far less tolerant of her antics as Chloé, though he isn't aware that they're one and the same. He eventually ends his friendship with her in "Despair Bear."
    • Played for Laughs in "Lady Wifi": when Nino tells Adrien that Alya suspects Marinette is Scarlet Lady, Adrien looks utterly horrified by the notion, and Plagg teases him about it later.
    • Downplayed with Adrien and Marigold. Because of his experiences with Scarlet Lady, he is initially wary of Marigold while being head over heels for Marinette, though he does warm up to the former fairly quickly. By the end of "Prime Queen," he starts to suspect she's Marinette.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Averted; the characters get a change in clothes whenever the author feels they should.
  • The Load: Scarlet Lady is completely useless in battle, and Chat Noir only puts up with her because she has a World-Healing Wave.
Scarlet Lady: What are you gonna do to catch [the akuma]?
Chat Noir: When are you gonna do your job?!
    Scarlet Lady: Don't wanna.
    • Upon running into the Ladybug heroine in "Horrificator," Chat Noir and Marinette can only go, "Greeeeat..."
    • While staring down both Dark Cupid and a corrupted Marigold, Chat Noir boasts that he can take them on... only to lament his odds vanishing when Scarlet Lady shows up. Subverted, as Scarlet Lady turns out to be quite helpful this time due to having a personal vendetta against the akuma for putting her through a day-long Humiliation Conga.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Scarlet Lady finds out in "Syren" that Chat Noir knows something she doesn't, namely where Marigold got her Miraculous, and she's furious about it. This parallels Chat Noir's feelings in canon when he realizes Ladybug has access to secrets that he doesn't.
  • Loophole Abuse:
    • For his second challenge, Nino must make two celebrities dance but is allowed to choose his "opponents." He chooses his friends Adrien (supermodel) and Alya (who runs the Ladyblog).
    • Adrien invokes this when Gabriel turns himself into an akuma, noting that while he's grounded, Chat Noir's not. He does this again when Nathalie tells him that he has to practice piano and is not allowed to leave the house in "Glaciator."
    • The Kwamis are geased not to be able to speak their owners' names. Pollen gets around this by pointing at Marinette while referring to her as "my queen," which Tikki and Plagg both know is how the Bee Kwami refers to her holder.
    • Lila thinks about using the Rooster Miraculous to get a power similar to Scarlet Lady's World-Healing Wave so that the Ladybug heroine will be unnecessary. However, Orikko explains he "can't grant the power as another Kwami" since "Each Kwami is a 'concept' and a 'concept' cannot exist twice at once." Lila tries to figure out a way around that, though they're ultimately unsuccessful.
      Lila: What about [X]?
Orikko: Hm, it has to be a power, that's a wish.
Lila: What if I phrase it like [Y]?
      Orikko: Closer, but...
Chat Noir: 'Scuse me, we gotta go!
  • Loose Lips: Chloé locks Juleka in the bathroom; she also unwisely tells Juleka what she's doing. This risks a faster akumatization.
  • Love Confession:
    • Théo gets his chance to tell Scarlet Lady how he feels after the statue unveiling. Her response?
    Scarlet Lady: Ha. Gross.
    • Chat Noir unwittingly does this in "Prime Queen" when he tells Marigold that he's in love with Marinette Dupain-Cheng, not realizing they're the same person.
  • Love Epiphany: In "Evillustrator," Marinette realizes she's in love with Chat Noir when Master Fu points it out. She then gets upset because Chat made her promise to no longer get involved with akumas, but she also loves him too much to leave him to put up with Scarlet Lady alone.
  • Loves My Alter Ego: While Marinette still likes Adrien, she prefers Chat Noir more and even comes to realize she loves him, not knowing that they are the same person. On the other hand, Adrien likes Marinette but is just professional with his bee-heroine partner Marigold. Ironically, when Chloé catches him writing a love letter in "Dark Cupid" and demands to know whom it's for, he blurts out, "Marigold!" in a panic so as to not reveal it's for Marinette, making Marinette think it's this trope. She's ironically flattered rather than disappointed.
  • Lying Finger Cross: When Adrien finally returns his father's book and confirms that Marinette had already found it, Gabriel asks why he didn't say so before. Adrien is keeping crossed fingers behind him while asking if his father would have listened.

    M
  • Made Out to Be a Jerkass: Invoked by Ivan, who dislikes Bustier for sending him to the principal's office for messing up "a little" but feared being perceived as the bad guy if he said something negative about the "nice" teacher, at least until some of his classmates voiced their own grievances against her.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Adrien/Chat refuses to call Scarlet Lady anything but Scar (for the scars she leaves on his life), much to her ire.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": When Horrificator directly confronts the heroes, Scarlet Lady, Chat Noir, Marinette, and Nino all simultaneously think, "Oh shit."
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: After Marinette tells him how hard it was to defeated his akumatized form, Max wonders if it was because he was an akuma or because he wasn't relying on his prewritten codes.
  • Mean Boss: Nino proves to be overbearing and not very fun to work with as a director during "Horrificator," treating his classmates poorly, making changes to the script without informing anyone, and prioritizing the film over their safety after it becomes clear there's an akuma loose in the school.
  • Meaningful Background Event: Chloé is shown painting her nails while Tikki's trying to convince her to take Sabrina to the museum during their study date. When Sabrina arrives only to learn from the butler that Chloé bailed on her, she mentions that they "were going to do our nails while I read the review to her." This subtly underscores Chloé's lack of care for her 'friend'; even before abandoning their original plans, she was already doing the very thing Sabrina was looking forward to without her.
  • Memory Wipe Exploitation: After Marigold gives Adrien the Snake Miraculous in "Desperada" (not knowing he's already Chat Noir), he decides that since his only option is to fail miserably and never get called on again, he'll take the opportunity to exploit Second Chance to get some In-Universe Catharsis and torment Scarlet Lady as much as possible without true consequences. This ranges from deliberately getting her zapped by the villain to revealing his identity to her. The one time we see Marigold's appalled reaction to his behavior, Aspik simply tells them, "Don't worry. You won't remember this."
  • "Metaphor" Is My Middle Name: After Marinette returns the Cat Miraculous to Plagg and says it was fun, Plagg says "Fun" is his middle name.
  • Mirror Character: Both Chloé and Lila latch onto Adrien, forcing their way into his personal space and ignoring all signs of his discomfort. Chloé also cheerfully abuses her powers as Scarlet to publicly humiliate Lila; in return, Lila accepts akumatization in order to get revenge and to gain glory as Volpina, aiming to show Scarlet Lady up as a superheroine.
  • Misplaced Kindergarten Teacher: Caline Bustier generally acts more like she's teaching grade-schoolers than teenagers, with Alya noting how juvenile her ramblings about love sound. Deconstructed, as Caline's been teaching some of the kids in her care since they were six, and her teaching methods have not grown and matured alongside her charges. The result of her philosophies is that she keeps enabling Chloé by not punishing her for her bullying, fueling the girl's sense of entitlement. Meanwhile, the rest of her class has long wised up to the fact that Bustier isn't a great authority figure, but her reputation as a nice teacher means they're worried they'll be seen as the bad guys if they complain about it.
  • Missed the Call: Master Fu intended for Marinette to get the Ladybug Miraculous. Instead, Chloé got her hands on it.
  • Mistaken for Gay: Played for Laughs when Alya realizes that the things Marinette likes about Adrien (gorgeous, stood up to Chloé) also apply to her.
  • Mistaken for Pedophile: Throughout "Copycat," Théo's crushes on girls who seem much younger than him prompt multiple people to ask about his age. Turns out he's the same age as Marinette and co.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal:
    • Sabrina eventually cuts Chloé out of her life after realizing her classmates are so much nicer to her than her so-called "best friend" is.
    • Played with regarding Adrien's reason for ending his friendship with Chloé. While he is clearly annoyed by how she doesn't respect his personal space or care about him as a person, he's just as if not even more disgusted by how poorly she treats others.
  • Moment of Weakness: Nathaniel is embarrassed when Sabrina tells him that his akuma-induced character change led him to calmly ask Marinette out on a date. He tells Sabrina, "...Leave me here to die". On the other hand, it provides the perfect excuse to Alix for why he skipped out on hanging out with her. "Welcome to the birthday akuma club!" she says.
  • Mood Whiplash:
    • "Intermission" is mostly a Breather Episode, but ends on a downbeat note as Chat Noir and Marigold reflect upon how Tikki is effectively trapped with Scarlet Lady in much the same way that Nooroo is with Hawkmoth.
    • "Princess Fragance" ends with a funny scene where Prince Ali presents Rose as his girlfriend (and Juleka as her girlfriend)... only for things to turn serious as Marigold summons Chat Noir so they can discuss how they are going to take Scarlet Lady's earrings.
  • Moving the Goalposts:
    • While searching for her missing bracelet, Chloé demands that Marinette submit to having her bag searched, to which Marinette responds by dumping her bag's contents out. Without missing a beat, Chloé orders her to empty her pockets, too.
    • Zoé tries to make a deal with Malediktator so the latter will stop terrorizing Paris. It doesn't work, and Marigold says he'd "just move the goal post" because akumas are virtually never satisfied.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: In "Reflekta," Adrien claims his photographer "makes even the most mundane shoots fun."
  • Mundane Utility: Chloé uses a towel Lucky Charm to dry her hair.
    • The whole reason Hawkmoth sends out an akuma in "Party Crasher" is because he wants someone to turn the lights in his lair back on.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: As the story progresses, Chloé becomes increasingly willing to abuse her role as Scarlet Lady to attempt to kill Marinette for trying to romance Adrien, with her resurrective abilities being used as a thin self-justification.
    • In "Gamer," Chloé/Scarlet Lady actively leads the titular akuma towards Marinette in the hopes of getting her zapped out of anger that Marinette got to spend time with Adrien while the latter two were practicing for the video game tournament. According to the author, she believes that since Miraculous Ladybug will simply resurrect Marinette after the battle, it doesn't count as attempted murder.
    • Chloé is delighted to see Marinette and the rest of the class in danger in "La Befana" and tells Tikki to "give it a few more minutes" before she transforms to fight the akuma. She also leads the akuma directly to Chat Noir and Marinette, just as she did in "The Gamer." When Chat gives her a Death Glare, she pretends innocence and asks, "What?"
    • In "Zombizou," Chloé as Scarlet Lady becomes oddly helpful to the class as they're trying to escape; internally, though, she's waiting for the right opportunity to throw Marinette to the zombies and even goes as far as to directly attack Marinette herself in order to do it.
  • Mustache Vandalism: In "Evillustrator," Chloé adds a mustache, a goatee, and glasses to Nathaniel's drawing of Marinette.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Marigold is horrified at how Adrien was injured while protecting them from Riposte, blaming themselves for not noticing the akuma's attack in time. This sharply contrasts with Scarlet Lady refusing to acknowledge her own fault in the matter.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • A bonus panel in "The Bubbler" shows Max without his glasses due to his mother having been bubbled while cleaning them, referencing an animation error in the canon episode.
    • Juleka wears an atypical white ensemble in "Rogercop," an episode in the show that had her in the same color scheme as a result of an animation error.
    • While visiting the Rossis, Marinette asks Lila if she seriously believes that she can trick her mom into letting her miss a whole year of school, to which Lila responds, "You underestimate my power." Canonically, she did did miss quite a bit of school by doing just that.
    • "The Collector" ends on a bonus shot of Alix texting Lila, bugging her to attend Marinette's upcoming birthday party. This not only foreshadows that "La Befana" is next but alludes to a Flashback in "Ladybug" that showed Lila enviously watching the celebration from afar.
    • When Lila apologizes to her classmates, Kim declares that it's not really a big deal that she lied about knowing famous people, adding, "It's not like you had us do your homework or carry your stuff!" Lila laughs nervously, visibly relieved that her plans didn't reach that point, which they did in canon.
    • The author drew a page with the character outfits for "La Befana," saying, "Some of these may look familiar if you've seen the Christmas Special!" Many of them look like the outfits worn by the classmates when they come to the bakery and to get Christmas logs.
    • Even though it's been stated that Bunnyx will not be appearing in the comic, Alix using the Rabbit Miraculous is still alluded to by her bag having a rabbit on it. It's also possible that she might still become Bunnyx after the comic has ended.
    • In "Vanisher," the akuma draws mocking pictures of Chloé on the blackboard, including some with large mustaches. This may be a reference to the original "Antibug," in which Butler Jean played a villain named "Big Mustachio" who wanted all Parisians to have "heinous mustaches." In canon, Vanisher drew similar images in the girl's bathroom, and the mustaches were likely a reference to their superhero dress-up game. There's no game in this AU, though, only a lunch date that goes wrong.
    • Also in "Vanisher," one of the heroes is left unable to transform by the villain, so their Kwami has to use their ability without a wielder, much like what happened in the canon "Style Queen." Additionally, a character ends up getting the Bee Miraculous.
    • Marinette makes bee-themed accessories near the end of "Vanisher" and gives them to her friends, with Alya picking the one that looks like the Bee Miraculous. In canon, Ladybug intended to give Alya that Miraculous.
    • At the end of "Vanisher," Chloé is discussing the new hero with Tikki. The former says, "Whatever. As long as she remembers who the true Queen is," which is likely a reference to Chloé's self-chosen hero name in canon, Queen Bee.
    • In "Captain Hardrock," Chloé has the same thoughts upon seeing Luka for the first time as she did in "Miracle Queen" in canon.
    • "Syren" still sparks drama from a team member being Locked Out of the Loop regarding the Guardian's existence. However, unlike Ladybug, Adrien has No Sympathy for Scarlet Lady's anger at being excluded while bringing Marigold to meet Master Fu without a second thought.
    • In "Animan," while Chloé is spying on Adrien's group, Tikki sarcastically suggests she try the bushes, where she can "sit in shame." That hiding place was used by other students in canon.
    • Nino wants to see "some cool turtles" while visiting the zoo. In canon, he's the Turtle hero.
    • In "Guitar Villain," Chloé gives her Rule 72: "All guys have to be crazy about you." This is one of the rules she gives Zoé in the canon episode "Sole Crusher." In a tag the author adds, "#so nice of sole crusher to come up with these Rules of the Bourgeois that I can exploit lol."
    • In "Princess Fragrance," Chloé mocks the scent of Rose's perfume, only for Sabrina, now her enemy, to point out that Chloé has the same perfume in her locker. The author notes that in the canon version of "Lady Wifi," a perfume bottle identical to Rose's can be seen in a Freeze-Frame Bonus when Chloé has her locker open.
    • In "Sapotis," Alya speculates what her superhero name might be if she were the Ladybug hero, just as she canonically does in "Hack-San." She even mentions Scarabella, the name she ultimately went with in the show.
    • Part 3 of "Anansi" has a caption that reads, "Power of Love Always so Strong~," which is part of the series's intro song.
    • In "Troublemaker," Marinette dresses up for the "Fill My Shoes" TV show in a maid uniform similar to the one that she wears in canon for "Animaestro."
    • In "Desperada," Vivica is shown looking fondly at Chat Noir when he offers to escort her back to the houseboat, a possible nod to how she was originally going to be a Chat Noir fangirl in canon.
    • Chat Noir refers to Marigold as "the Queen Bee" in "Prime Queen," which is the hero name Chloé used in canon.
    • Marigold's new suit in "Zombizou" shares some similarities with Ladybug's powered-up suit in the fourth season of the show.
    • At the start of "Gorizilla," Mayor Bourgeois asks Chloé if she wants to come and see a screening of his film with him. In canon, it was revealed in the fourth season that he was the one who directed Solitude.
    • Marc's fanfic in "Reverser" features an "alternate universe" in which Marigold has the Ladybug Miraculous and Hawkmoth is helped by Scarlet Queen and her minion Antibug, who's implied to be Chloé. In canon, Antibug is Chloé's first akuma self.
    • In "Frightningale," some of the temporary heroes distract the titular akuma by singing the Miraculous Ladybug theme song.
    • "Intermission 3" has Purple Tigress tell Pigella that she looks like a "space ballerina". Pigella excitedly says that she would have looked really cute with a tutu, referencing the one from her canon costume. Also, Caprikid decides to patrol by themself because they prefer to work alone, referencing Nathaniel's reluctance to work in a team from "Penalteam" in season 4 of the show.
    • In "Queen Wasp," Chloé decides to show off how exceptional she supposedly is by transforming into her hero identity, only to be met with the indifference of her mother, much like in the canon episode of the same name.
    • Also in "Queen Wasp", Zoé willingly lets her akumatized sister sting her to help buy the heroes more time, similar to how she (as Vesperia) let herself get turned into a banana in "Queen Banana".
    • In "Catalyst", Lila tells the class that for Heroes Day, she's going to teach sign language with her stepmother, and cut and donate her hair (the latter of which she says is because of a lost bet). These are references to the reveals in Season 5 of the show that she was somehow pretending to be the daughter of multiple women, one of which was deaf, and her hair was actually a wig with much shorter hair underneath. The next page also includes a bonus panel with a chart explaining how a Lila that's not malicious or manipulative to canon's degree still has three moms: she has a biological mother, a step-mother (married to her bio-dad), and a godmother that she's apparently close enough with to consider her one of her mothers. The same chart also makes the canon aliases Lila uses for those fake mothers into her middle names instead.
    • Also in "Catalyst", rather than the illusion being of Chat Noir fighting an akumatized Ladybug, it's Marigold fighting Chat Blanc, Chat Noir's akuma self from canon.
    • Zoé helps to distract Gigantitan by driving a Vespa, before Marinette, now the new Ladybug hero, defeats the akuma and then drives the Vespa herself while Zoé rides with her; in canon, Zoé's first involvement with an akuma that wasn't herself involved her riding a Lucky Charm Vespa with Ladybug. Zoé is also given the Bee Miraculous soon after.
