Sand Box / Buy N Large Cup Series

Go To

And now, for the most famous words in motorsports...
Drivers, START YOUR ENGINES!!

With professional wrestling gaining a big foothold in the Pantheon, it seemed that all other sports had pretty much faded into the sidelines, with the God's Olympic Competition held yearly in the House of Sports.

Enter: Richard Petty. The seven-time Daytona 500 champion, 200-time winner, 127-time pole sitter and 700-time top 10 finisher known as the King ascended to the Pantheon and changed everything. He entered a business deal with the Celestial Mega Corporation Buy n Large and established BnL NASCAR (a subsidiary) to establish a new NASCAR championship in the Pantheon.

Seven Premier Partners sponsor the Cup Series under the Buy n Large Banner, though unlike their real-world counterparts have not dispensed with title sponsors:

  • Buy n Large official title sponsor, benefactor and owner
  • Octan official fuel of BnL NASCAR
  • Lightyear official tire of BnL NASCAR
  • GEICO official insurance partner of BnL NASCAR
  • Omniversal Pantheon Sports official media partner of BnL NASCAR, corporate alliance between FOX Sports, NBC Sports and ESPN
  • McDonald's official food partner of BnL NASCAR
  • Hetap official beverage partner of BnL NASCAR

Twenty-five races, ranging from ovals to European-style road courses and street circuits, are held per year in the Pantheon, starting with the Super Smash Brothers Clashnote  and ending with the Kuat Drive Yards 400note , with its biggest events of the year located in the center of the House of Commerce, the first main race, the Buy n Large 500. Attendance to the events has largely been positive, and marketing has been highly effective. In fact, a new BnL superstore specifically tailored for racing fans has been opened at the BnL Speedway. Gods from the House of Craft (especially Chief Creative and R&D officer Emmet) assist with merchandising of all the gods ranging from diecast cars, T-shirts, racing gear, advertising and whatnot (with 60% of the profits going to the House of Sports).

The Buy n Large Cup Series has become a Worthy Opponent to them for sports coverage in the Pantheon and has selflessly attempted to fund more new sports tournaments like the NFL, NHL, FIFA and NBA in the Pantheon. There are rumors that Buy n Large, thanks to the success of the series, are willing to make other championships based on other motorsport disciplines (such as kart racing, open-wheelers a la Formula One and modified street cars/sport prototypes) to further bolster the popularity of the sport in the Pantheon. Most of the staff behind of most of this organization's accomplishments are under the yoke of Buy n Large and are in the Pantheon by contract.

  • The lap-by-lap commentator of the Buy n Large Cup Series, Allen Bestwick served intermittently with ESPN (currently), the Motor Racing Network, NBC Sports and Turner Sports. His announcement in the role was heralded by many a NASCAR fan in the Pantheon as one of the best choices the association has made after the controversial addition of Hetap to the Premier Partners list.
  • One of the most fervent supporters of bringing NASCAR to the Pantheon and is often very objective on certain points. At times he's made polite criticisms on the attitudes of some race teams, even good ones such as Lord Business' Octan team having a built-to-race robot. Perhaps what he is best known for besides NASCAR is his coverage of the legendary Indy 500 for IndyCar, one of the major talking points by the studio in the races.
  • He doesn't have as many prominent memetic traits or qualities as his partner DW, but that's not his job. As said in an interview with The Daily Bugle, his job is to "make fans enthusiastic about the race and tell it like it is. Play-by-play commentary is objective, straight commentary. It's an art that needs to be mastered in mind and voice".
