On that day…humanity received a grim reminder…that this scene has been parodied so much that no one can take it seriously anymore.
As one of the most popular manga of The New '10s, Attack on Titan has been referenced quite a lot in modern media.
- Dropkick on My Devil: At one point, Jashin dresses up as a Survey Corps member, complete with pulling off their salute and an Art Shift to match.
- Keijo!!!!!!!!: Tae Yokosugi’s Signature Move is called "Buttack on Titan" wherein she squashes her opponent in a manner resembling the Colossal Titan, complete with text mirroring the Attack on Titan logo.
- Kiss Him, Not Me: Episode 3 has Kae’s class doing a Cosplay Café wherein they all wear Survey Corps uniforms. In the Eyecatch, Kae is seen holding a potato while in said uniform, an Actor Allusion to her sharing the same seiyuu as Sasha Braus, with the male cast as titans peering over the wall.
- One-Punch Man: Marugori gets turned by his brother into a giant that bears an alarming resemblance to the Colossal Titan. Doubles as a Casting Gag since the North American dub has him voiced by Eren Jaeger's English voice actor.
- Outbreak Company: A Lawyer-Friendly Cameo version of Attack on Titan is one of the first mangas that Shinichi reads to Petralka.
- Osomatsu-san: The climax of the Reference Overdosed first episode features Chibita as the Colossal Titan and the Matsuno sextuplets emulating the Survey Corps to fight him, with a bunch of other Lawyer-Friendly Cameos joining the battle.
- The cover of Issue 4 of Transformers: Till All Are One homages the anime’s promotional poster with Bruticus as the Colossal Titan and Ironhide as Eren Yeager.
- Yandere Simulator: One of the Easter Egg modes is called “Titan Mode”, which turns every student except Senpai into titans, changes the colors of Yandere-chan’s uniform to that of the Survey Corps uniform, and plays a soundalike of “Guren no Yumiya” on constant loop (it used to play the actual song prior to it being changed out).
- DEATH BATTLE! pitted Mikasa Ackerman against Blake Belladonna.
- History of Power Rangers: In the episode on Jungle Fury, Linkara remarks that he likes Master Mao because he resembles Drill Sergeant Nasty Keith Shadis. To the point that every time Mao appears, he is dubbed over with quotes from Team Four Star's take on Shadis.
- Sword Art Online Abridged: In Episode 4, when Rosalia reveals herself to be the leader of Titan’s Hand, the scene has a Smash Cut to the aftermath of the Armored Titan breaching the inner gate of Shinganshina. For added bonus, Kirito yells "Hey, fuck that guy!", a nod to Attack on Titan Abridged.
- The Simpsons: In "Treehouse of Horror XXV", one of the alternate versions of the Simpsons that show up are dressed up as anime characters, with Lisa being Mikasa Ackerman.
