- Camera Abuse: Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragon turned its White Lightning to the camera and obliterated it.
- Collapsing Lair: After Rafael's defeat, the building begins to collapse after Teá claims that friendship saved his soul.Kaiba: "Goddammit, I knew that girl's friendship speeches were going to kill me one day!"
- Dull Surprise: Yugi cries out to Rafiel in a monotone tone.Yugi: (unconcerned) "Oh no, Rafael. Come back."
- Hypocrite: Rafael. After stating that he'll make sure that his monsters will not be sent to the graveyard when he summons Guardian Dreadscythe, he sacrifices his monsters to give it more attack points. Yugi appropriately calls him out on it for this and their previous duel for getting on his case for sacrificing monsters when he's doing the same thing.Yugi: "Because I didn't realize that Orichalcos was Latin for giant f*cking hypocrite."
- Earlier, Rafael uses the Seal of Orichalcos which Yugi gets on his case for having a Double Standard of using it fine while calling Yugi evil for using the Seal in their previous duel.
- Hypocritical Humor: On both sides. Yugi refers to a random graveyard in Rafael's flashback as such instead of GY while Rafael corrects him even after saying that he'll never refer to it as GY.Yugi: "Don't you start."
- Yugi berates Jack's Knight for being out of formation just after he states that he respects his cards more than any other duelist.
- Insistent Terminology: Yugi starts to insist that the Graveyard is now referred to as GYnote , much to Rafael's annoyance.
- I Resemble That Remark!: After Rafael comments on Yami’s failure to respect his monsters in their first Duel, Yami claims no one is more respectful of their cards than himself, and shortly afterwards begins insulting Jack’s Knight for standing an inch out of formation.

Tristan: (not actual dialogue) "Actually, Dork Fest is in October." - Rooftop Confrontation: The Pharaoh duels Rafael on the roof of Dartz's building. Lampshaded by him and the title.Pharaoh: I wonder which floor I'm being taken to. Well, if any anime in existence has taught me anything, most of the drama happens on... the roof.
- So Long, Suckers!: While Téa and Tristan try to carry the comatose Joey, Yugi tells them that he needs to "stretch" his legs. And by "stretch", he meant to leave the two behind.Yugi: "Suckers! Consider yourselves ditched. Like I'd ever be seen carrying another person. Not in a million years!"
- Suspiciously Specific Denial: Rafael refers to Guardian Eatos as "mommy," just after stating that his deck is not his "family." He tries so hard to deny having any personal connection to it.
- Talk Like a Pirate: The Kuribandit speaks a variation of "Do-da-la-la-la" with the "arr" replacing the "la."
- Tempting Fate: Téa hoped that Rafael didn't activate the Seal of Orichalcos as soon as they arrived. It happened...Tristan: "Geez, Téa. Way to jinx it."
- You Didn't See That: Subverted. Kaiba insisted that he wasn't seen touching Joey. However, nobody ever brings it up yet Kaiba still think that they are bringing it up.
